JACKSON, Miss. — A protest at the University of Mississippi against the re-election of President Barack Obama grew into crowd of about 400 people with shouted racial slurs as rumors of a riot spread on social media. Two people were arrested on minor charges. The university said in a statement Wednesday that the gathering at the student union began late Tuesday night with about 30 to 40 students, but grew within 20 minutes as word spread. Some students chanted political slogans while others used derogatory racial statements and profanity, the statement said.
The election of the Great Post-Racial Uniter in 2008 would eliminate the race divisions in the country once and for all, or so we were told. By that measure, the re-election of the GR-PU, given his unifying and race-neutral message of the last four years, should have us in a race war by August at the latest.
Reading this kind of thing used to make me cringe with embarrassment. Now, I couldn't care less. It just makes me laugh. So go ahead and toss around the "N word" and hang Obama in effigy. As long as nobody gets hurt, it makes everyone feel better - the students vent some, and the Blacks get to wallow in their beloved resentment.
Now about the latest Black on White beatdown, I'm not amused in the slightest.
I think its high time to consider splitting up this country into two halves -- red and blue. I don't see the point in trying to all live under one roof any more. Wouldn't both sides be happier?
[I do realize that the blue states would collapse under the weight of their socialism and they would all be invading the red states for the sake of freedom, but that would be fine with me as long as we have rock solid constitution preventing wealth redistribution.]

The libs and race baiters are reaping what they sow. Did it never occur to them that disgruntled whites might riot?
Agree with #7. Let's have a red country and a blue country. The illegals, Somali voters and the rest of the liberal lot pay their own way.
I have seen, and been the target, of many instances of black racism against whites. Just like all white people are not racist, not all black people are either. But some are--they hate whites because they are white.
For those calling for a split in the country, stand fast.
You are correct those Blue areas would be crushed under their own Socialism, but who do you think they would turn to for help? Red states? Nope.
They would reach out to China. Or Russia. Or any other Socialist state. In effect, they would be overtaken. And then, instead of two oceans separating us from our adversaries, they would be literally at our doorstep.
No. The answer, I believe, is for individual states to stand against Federal tyranny and say, 'No thanks. We're not playing.' Refuse to play. Stand your ground and refuse to play.
We should all be rioting. We are about to have our pockets picked and our freedom taken. It's time to take a stand. There are hundreds of thousands who died to give us freedom. Their sacrifice is going to be in vain.
Oh my - racial slurs! You mean a bunch of whites shouted out what the blacks call each other every day. Wake me when gangs of whites start picking lone, defenseless blacks for beatings or murder. In the meantime, blacks can get used to reaping a bit of what they've sown.
Dittos #12! I am already changing a lot of plans because of the CA tax hikes. I will fight them with everything I do. Nothing they get from me will be without an expense to them. That goes for the feds too.
These ''riots'' sound about 1/1000th as bad as the average celebration looting and destruction in cities like LA or Detroit when their NBA team wins a championship.
If these ''riots'' were all black students and pro-NØbama, they could loot and destroy cars and beat up white people and call cops every racist and evil name in the book, and it would be defended by every lie-beral out there as ''freedom of speech'' and ''freedom of assembly''.
But a few anglo students get together and blow off some frustration by yelling and speawing a few bad words, and this is just just horrible and should be illegal (since they are obviously ''hate crimes'') in the minds of lie-berals.
Good for the kids. At least they learned about tyranny and liberty. I heard and saw vicious things said and written about Romney and what would happen if he won and the MSM was silent. So &)_(&_ I say. Riot, scream, say politically incorrect things. Don't hurt anyone or damage property--because we are responsible Reps. But vent. We are entitled. Remember, the left hates us, really hates us. So what do we have to lose.
i don't think this story is true. it stinks of the accusation that tea partiers spit on black members of congress. We're still waiting for the $10,000 video to prove it. All I see evidence of is one burned sign. Where are the videos of this alleged slurring?
I agree that black racism is far worse and more rampant than anything coming from whites, but that does NOT excuse the ignorant and stupid use of racial slurs by whites either. Didn't your mother teach you that two wrongs don't make a right??? Sorry, but it IS embarrassing and just plain wrong to turn this into a racial issue. And anybody who claims to be a conservative or a Republican that thinks it is ok & goes along with this should be ashamed of themselves. Race, skin color, physical characteristics, & other similar things do NOT define a person. I can't believe people are willing to let the leftist manipulators win by dividing us & making us hate each other based on totally irrelevant things like melanin. You are allowing the left to control you and devolve into tribalism just as they want you to. That is NOT what our Founders believed in. That is NOT a civilized society. It is NOT alright to lower oneself to the lowest common denominator, no matter how hurt, frustrated, or angry you are.
As another poster said, where is the video to confirm that racial slurs were chanted? The answer is there is none, This story is a plant done with a typical liberal propaganda tactic---make an allegation that is supported with anecdotes that can neither be proven nor disproven.
It's Ole Miss. There were slurs used by the sons of the rich white lawyers attending. If anywhere else? I would doubt it. But not here. 99.9% probability alcohol or drugs were involved

If this was a group of black panthers screaming that they want to kill all white people, which they do regularly, nothing would be said. Rap music use such terms all of the time. Street thugs and gang members use such terms everday. When is is going to be unacceptable for them to speak in such terms. I thought we were all equal and had freedom to express ourselves. I am not in favor of insulting anyone, however I don't like it when I am being told what I can and cannot say. As some posters have said, it doesn't bring us together.
The Obama administration’s interference in Texas’ redistricting and voter-ID litigation does not protect voting rights. It protects the Democratic Party. Recall that just a few months ago, high-ranking Obama operatives launched a campaign to “turn Texas blue.” The administration’s foray into Texas voting rights litigation is just another page in that political playbook. In redistricting, the Obama administration has aligned itself with Democratic state representatives and Democratic members of Congress who already are suing Texas. It is no surprise then that the legal position of President Obama’s attorneys seeks to improve Democratic candidates’ prospects.
A general examination to test eighth grade students in Kentucky´s Bullitt County school system in 1912 has stumped some adults and ignited a debate over the intelligence of children today. The arithmetic, geography, civil government, physiology, grammar and history questions range from ´What is a personal pronoun?´ to ´Who first discovered Lawrence River?´ and ´Define Cerebrum´. Posted on Lew Rockwell, the type-written test has promoted some adults to try and answer the questions, and caused some parents to critique the U.S. school system.
Huma Abedin, the Hillary Clinton loyalist and wife of embattled New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, will reportedly take an "extended vacation" from her job as the chief of staff of Hillary Clinton´s transition team. Politico reports the move is not a formal "leave of absence." “Huma is not taking a leave of absence, but she will be taking vacation time in August to support her family during Anthony’s campaign," a Weiner campaign source told Politico. “She had always intended to do this.” According to Politico, "it was a loose plan she’d had for weeks, since Hillary Clinton
The top state lawmakers in Illinois are suing Gov. Pat Quinn after he halted the salaries of legislators because of their failure to find a solution to the state´s $100 billion pension crisis. House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton, both Democrats, filed the 12-page complaint with the Circuit Court of Cook County Tuesday, calling Quinn´s actions "purely political and unconstitutional." "This matter is of fundamental constitutional importance, as Governor Quinn´s action threatens the independence of each branch of government," Cullerton and Madigan said in a joint news release. "The Illinois Constitution protects the salaries of members
After a long three-year gap since their last exclusive sit-down interview with President Obama, you might think The New York Times would be ready to ask tough questions on the most contentious issues of the day, beginning with the deepening Obama scandals. Wrong. Instead, the Times defined the “news” in this interview to be Obama’s counter-attacks. Their stories focused on Obama’s accusations that (a) the Republicans are liars about Obamacare, (b) the Republicans exaggerate the benefits of building the Keystone XL pipeline, and (c) the Republicans oppose his use of executive power because he has the gall
WASHINGTON — Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain have been asked by President Barack Obama to travel to Egypt next week to urge the military to move ahead on new elections, the senators said Tuesday. Egypt has been roiled by deadly protests since President Mohammed Morsi was toppled in a military coup on July 3, developments that have threatened the $1.5 billion in annual U.S. military and economic aid to the Arab world´s most populous country. Responding to reporters´ questions Tuesday about an attempt to cut off the aid, Graham offered up word that Obama has sought the help
The Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald, the reporter who broke the details revealed by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden regarding that agency’s information gathering and warehousing practices, was scheduled to testify about those programs before members of Congress. On Tuesday, Greenwald revealed that this informal hearing, organized by Reps. Justin Amash (R-MI) and Alan Grayson (D-FL), has been cancelled. Greenwald, who would have testified via satellite from his residence in Brazil, was going to share his knowledge of the NSA’s surveillance programs before an informal gathering of members of Congress.
WASHINGTON- "Ready for Hillary," a Super PAC backed by Democratic heavyweights, has raised $1 million more than three years before the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has not said she will be running for president, Politico reported. But she is also clearly keeping her options open. Former U.S. Rep. Ellen Tauschner, D-Calif., who has also served in the State Department, is an adviser to the PAC. She said the PAC´s donors are sending a message that Clinton is the one to beat in 2016. "Being a voter is not a passive sport," Tauscher said.
Glendale city officials on Tuesday were resolute in their decision to install a 1,100-pound metal statue at Central Park memorializing Asian women and girls who were held as sex slaves by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II. Before a standing-room-only crowd of about 300 people, officials hailed the monument to so-called comfort women as a lasting testament to the pain and suffering endured by an estimated 200,000 sex slaves from Korea, China, Indonesia and other occupied countries during the war, the Glendale News-Press reported. “The Glendale City Council took a bold step.
WASHINGTON- The oldest former U.S. senator, Harry Byrd Jr., whose family had deep ties to newspaper publishing in his home state of Virginia, died on Tuesday at age 98. Byrd died at his home in Winchester, according to an obituary in the Winchester Star newspaper, which is now run by his son. Byrd, a conservative Democrat who entered Congress in 1965 to fill the Senate seat his father had held for more than three decades, later won re-election as an independent after breaking with the Democratic Party. He retired from Congress in 1983. "A chapter of our history has concluded,"
More than 5,000 weapons collected in various buyback programs were melted down into steel rebar Tuesday morning, authorities said. Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff´s Department and the Santa Monica, Inglewood and Culver City police departments oversaw the 20th annual "gun melt" at Gerdau Steel Mill in Rancho Cucamonga, the sheriff´s department announced. The mill annually donates its furnace and workers for the event, the department said. The sheriff´s department´s buyback program -- which offers grocery store gift cards in exchange for weapons -- began in Compton in 2005. Now several municipalities offer such events throughout the year.
It may not look particularly attractive, but as just $1 this family home is a complete bargain. However, despite being on the market for the drop-down price since February last year, the Detroit property is astonishingly still for sale. It is one of a number of run-down properties lying in the suburbs of Michigan´s largest city, which earlier this month filed for bankruptcy, crippled by enormous debts. Built in 1915, the property on Saint-Clair Street has been listed for sale since May 2011. After initially being placed on the market for $900,
There have been days since her son Ezekiel was born 11 months ago that Los Angeles mom Beth Capper has gone without food to keep up her supply. One friend was arrested for stealing some. It´s not drugs or alcohol or even baby formula that has put her in such a bind. It´s diapers. "There´s no way around buying them," said Capper, a 41-year-old single mother who doesn´t work because of a disability. Across the country, mothers like Capper are facing the same predicament. According to a report published Monday in the
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee

America is in great shape energy-wise. We have more gas and oil reserves than ever before. Indeed, the United States could shortly become the world’s largest exporter of coal. Our cheaper power rates may bring energy-intensive industry back from Europe and Asia. If America’s small colleges are nearly broke and our public schools failing, nonetheless our blue-chip universities’ math, science, and engineering departments, and professional schools, remain the best in the world. A year after resigning from congress over his first sexting scandal, Anthony Weiner claimed that he was a mellowed out new father working every day to be a better husband by doing chores around the house. "Every day since this has happened, I´ve tried to become a better person, a husband that Huma deserves and as good a father as I can be," Weiner told People Magazine in outtakes released Sunday from his now infamous July 18, 2012 interview. "I´ve explored every way to try to do those things and I´m committed to continuing on that path."
Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization. According to Obama, "it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of" Congress´ legislative restrictions "in
The mother of Trayvon Martin said Monday that she believed Florida’s Stand Your Ground law played a role in her son’s shooting death, but she wasn’t ready to support a boycott of the state for not changing the self-defense law. “The thing about this law is I just think it assisted the person who killed my son to get away with murder,” Sybrina Fulton, the mother of the 17-year-old from Miami Gardens, said at a National Bar Association event in Miami Beach. “I think we have to change these laws so people don’t get
A group of experts advising the nation’s premier cancer research institution has recommended sweeping changes in the approach to cancer detection and treatment, including changes in the very definition of cancer and eliminating the word entirely from some common diagnoses. (Snip) The group, which includes some of the top scientists in cancer research, also suggested that many lesions detected during breast, prostate, thyroid, lung and other cancer screenings should not be called cancer at all but should instead be reclassified as IDLE conditions, which stands for “indolent lesions of
