Well: I think that's what they call a 'hostage to fortune.' And, of course, I don't remotely blame all the leftards who've been blowing raspberries in response.[Snip]On the evidence of Obama's four years in power so far, what exactly have they seen that augurs so well for the next four years of the American presidency? Was it his resolute decision to sacrifice the lives of four brave men in Benghazi, perhaps? Or was it

America is lost. I'm embarrassed that this nation would elect, and re-elect Obama, an America-hating Marxist.
America is no longer that shining beacon on the hill and the best hope for freedom and humanity. With Obama in command, America moves to global irrelevance and economic ruin.

Like we used to say among the grunts in Viet Nam to every inexplicable misfortune perpetrated by Washington politicians and suck up senior officers: DON'T MEAN NUTHIN'
Evil and incompetence always win.
Deal with it and move on.
If you're hoping for America to be the shining city on the hill spoken of by our last decent President in the early '80's, get over it. That America disappeared decades ago.
Accept reality - you will fare much better.

This fight IS NOT over!
I don’t yet know how best to proceed... but I do know this; For me, this fight is NOT over! I may not have that many years left in me... but some of my friends do... and their children do... and their soon to be grandchildren do... and other Americans whom I do not even know do... and it’s just too important to let that go without continuing to fight!
There is simply nowhere else in this world to go... and I WILL NOT give up this fight while I can still draw breath!!
As yet, I have no solid plan of action... but I WILL formulate one and I WILL prosecute it with everything that I have left in me — so help me God!! I will not give up this fight for Freedom started some 236 years ago by Patriots marching through the snow in their bare feet!!!
All the sacrifice... all the blood... all the misery... This can NOT have been spent in vain!!!
So help me God, I mean this with all my heart; I WILL NOT GIVE UP THIS FIGHT!

I don't anything in our history tops a president declaring war on part of our country, resulting in the death of 100s or thousands of her citizens, all while trashing the Constitution.
If we can come back from that, we can come back from the pipsqueak!

Thanks, OP, for posting this. My friends who think I'm nuts to worry about the dollar now will be getting a link to this. Delingpole says it like it is:
Problem is, the money has run out. It happened quite a while back and all our governments and their corporatist and bankster allies have been doing these last few years is finding ever more ingenious ways of disguising the fact. Just so long as they can keep the scam going just that little bit longer, that's all they care about.
I don't think we can last four more years without our dollar failing. Especially if there is a rogue nuke attack. But, yes we must fight. And we must have a candidate ready to take over who knows how to lead like Reagan did, rebuilding us from the ashes. Gov Sarah Palin could do it -- but we'll have to see what the press is like by then. They may be broken without advertisers to pay their cushy salaries.

You Didn't Build That Revenge It Never Worked (free enterprise)
Excepting the greedy racist House in its way, the Left sees its long-awated golden opportunity to force a Glorious Socialist Revolution upon the USA. Its century-long struggle was never about anything else, and they will not pass up this once in a lifetime chance to destroy America (for the "common good"). We will be seeing Obama's true colors, and they will all be dark red.

Don't buy gold except for maybe vintage collector coins. There's a provision in the death bill that allows the goobermint to confiscate any other form of gold and these transactions are reported to the goobermint. Vintage coins are not. I don't know about silver.

Well, Mr. Delingpole, at least your prime minister is happy. He has a fellow traveler to work with. In the past, I have looked at history to calm myself. We, the USA, the free world, have been in bad positions before and worked our way out of them. I, somehow, don't feel any comfort in reviewing history anymore.

A senior Eurocrat sparked outrage last night after calling for the phrase “illegal immigrant” to be banned from the European Union.[Snip] She has instructed EU Commission staff to refer to foreigners who break border control laws as “irregular migrants” or simply “people” instead. But her attempt to dictate how the issue of immigration is discussed was savaged last night. UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage said: “Now the EU is even trying to change the language. “This sounds like something straight out of the pages of George Orwell’s Animal Farm. It shows that what we are dealing with here

His house, his booze, his drugs, his women and his 17 children were paid for by a benefits system meant to be a safety net for the truly needy.[Snip] This was one of the most horrible crimes committed against children in Britain in recent years. It was cynical. It was calculating. And it was done out of malice in a ham-fisted plot which went wrong. The trial spoke volumes about the sheer nastiness of the individuals involved. A coral reef in Northern Australia severely damaged by warming seas has managed to completely heal itself in just 12 years, stunned researchers have found. The team found that being left alone to breed on its own was key. The discovery raises hope that other damaged reefs could ´regenerate´. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.

North Korea has transported two more missiles to the east coast, Seoul military sources have revealed, triggering speculation that it is ready for an abrupt missile launch. North Korea has loaded two intermediate-range missiles onto mobile launchers and hidden them in an unidentified facility near the east coast, South Korea´s Yonhap news agency has said. "It has been confirmed that North Korea, early this week, transported two Musudan mid-range missiles by train to the east coast and loaded them on vehicles equipped with launch pads," Yonhap quoted the official as saying. As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. What we are witnessing, according to this theory, is nothing more than an inexperienced leader

Anyone who remembers the halcyon dreams of the 1990s, of civil society spreading the world over, heralding a new peaceful, global millennium, must marvel at the path the young 21st century has taken. Even those who paid attention to global Jihad before the millennium could not imagine how vulnerable the West would prove in the coming, wildly asymmetrical war. Those who, over the course of the last 13 years, have awakened to the ever-growing danger of Islamism and to the astonishing inability of decent people--Muslims and non-Muslims--to effectively oppose its aggressions, owe themselves a brief lesson in cognitive warfare, and

The political race many had anticipated would unfold in the 1st congressional district--the national comedian’s sister versus the once-disgraced governor angling for a comeback--is here. Former Gov. Mark Sanford won Tuesday’s GOP runoff over former Charleston County Councilman Curtis Bostic, according to unofficial results. Sanford now faces five more weeks on the campaign trail before a May 7 showdown with Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, whose business background and moderate politics are expected to create a tight contest. Lowcountry voters haven’t elected a Democrat from the 1st District for more than three decades, but Colbert Busch already has shown

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Clinton praised her own mother for helping empower her to success and marveled at the opportunities that her own daughter Chelsea has pursued. But Clinton warned that there is still so much to do to promote women´s rights in America. "As I look at all these young women that I am privileged to work with, or know through Chelsea, and its hard to imagine turning the clock on them," Clinton said.

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,
