After Apologizing for
'Terrible' Hurricane Comment,
Matthews Features Bill Maher

On the same night he apologized for making a horribly inappropriate comment about Hurricane Sandy, Chris Matthews on Wednesday had Bill Maher on Hardball to compare Karl Rove and Republicans to Nazis. After Matthews wondered about Rove's erroneous predictions, the liberal comic mocked, "It was a little Hitler's bunker, wasn't it? I wanted to rush in with a cyanide capsule there. I thought he was going to say, 'I don't want to live in a world without national socialism.'" [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Matthews himself got into the act, comparing Rove to Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf,

I don't get it, I watched the clip of Karl Rove, and I do not think he was over the top at all! I have no idea what they were watching...

That being said, the comments that come from Maher and Matthews are deplorable, disgusting, and SO inappropriate. I wish they didn't have a platform to spew their hatred.

Matherws never said I'm sorry or I apologize. Wasn't there an incident recently where someone didn't say those words and was hammered for it?

By the way, those republican guys running for the senate who made comments about rape and abortion apologized repeatedly and were never forgiven by Mathews or the jerks on MSNBC.

I pity Matthews . He is one of those
'recovering alcoholics and catholics' who gave up drinking, not because he hit bottom but because he was faced with an ultimatum. He hates himself and is too self- involved, like Maher, to understand that most people see through them. 15...14..13..12...

I'm curious. I see how networks such as Fox will remain busy and relevant for the next four years as we claw our way through this second term, but I don't see how networks such as MSNBC and CNN will survive. Their water-carrying talents are not needed now. I don't know how they will be relevant to an electorate that is satisfied with last night's victory and just wants to see what Snookie is doing while they recooperate from their latest abortion.

One of the things I learned in AA is that there's a HUGE difference between being "dry" and being "sober". Sober people are in recovery and are working hard to change everything about their lives and making amends to those whom they've harmed through their drinking. Dry people are simply not drinking and are angry and bitter about it. They make everyone around them miserable, they are resentful about not being able to drink and see themselves as victims. Matthews is dry.

It is obvious that none of the liberals have read Sun Tzu. They only seem to know Alinski, ridiculing their enemies when they are victorious.

When you have bested your enemies, you don't taunt them (unless you are Islamofascist -you just can't help yourself from mutilating dead enemies). You only get them motivated to fight to the death and not help your cause in the long run. The death of conservatism has been repeatedly foretold, but if the Tea Party rallies bears any resembles to reality, I think the rumor of it's death is premature. Team Obama has just sealed the fate of the next Dem candidate with their big mouths. The next fight will see even more conservatives signing up for the cause. This is not rosy optimism - this is a logical expectation of the coming years as the malignant narcissist Obama misread his victory for license to kill capitalism in America. I have faith that when the going gets tough, the tough, courageous people of America will say-"Let's roll!"

WASHINGTON— Partisan politics loomed over a House hearing Wednesday on the deadly September 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, as Republicans and Democrats clashed over the meaning of testimony from three witnesses who had little new to add to the story. The hearing of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee began with the chairman, Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), complaining that the Obama administration and Democrats on the committee have not supported his efforts to get to the truth. The ranking Democrat, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), promptly accused the Republican chairman of politicizing

Benghazi hearings open in the House on Wednesday, and the New York Times printed a preview on page 16 of Wednesday´s edition that downplayed any possible revelations about the Obama administration´s reaction to the terrorist attack, which killed ambassador Chris Stevens and three others. Testimony is expected by three State Department officials, led by U.S. diplomat Gregory Hicks, deputy mission chief in Tripoli, who said his pleas for military assistance were overruled. Feeling reader pressure after the Washington Post led its Tuesday´s edition by setting up the House hearings, Public Editor Margaret Sullivan addressed the issue

The State Department’s deputy chief of mission in Libya fought back tears on Wednesday as he delivered a lengthy account of the nighttime terrorist attacks last year that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens. The first-hand account is the first the Oversight Committee has heard publicly from a witness during its investigation of possible security and intelligence failures in the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Testifying before a packed hearing room, Gregory Hicks gave an emotional account of his attempt to secure the State Department’s staff in Tripoli as he relayed messages to the Washington, D.C., operation center

Of the three cable networks, Fox News on Wednesday offered the most substantial coverage of whistleblower testimony on the September 11th terrorist attack in Benghazi. Fox broke in first at 11:36am and has been airing the hearings mostly unobstructed since. CNN followed at noon. Anchor Wolf Blitzer appeared and introduced coverage. The cable network stuck with the testimony for 15 minutes before leaving to feature discussion by Blitzer and Jake Tapper. MSNBC, unsurprisingly, was last. It wasn´t until 12:17pm, after spending copious amounts of time on the Cleveland abduction case, that the network finally showcased the hearings.

Cummings did not waste any time before going after Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Rep. Cummings began by thanking the witness, former diplomat Gregory Hicks for his service and offering condolences for the loss of his colleagues in the attack. “If I had been in your place,”

Obama administration officials are finally letting the attorney for a Benghazi whistle-blower get a security clearance — but the clearance is at such a low level that it will probably slow the congressional probe of how the administration handled last year’s terrorist attack on the embassy in Benghazi, Libya. When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism. It turns out, however, that the State Department was the prime culprit. It was State that pushed back hard against the original talking points.

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

University officials said they had "previously understood" that Hawking´s decision was based solely on health concerns — he is 71 and has severe disabilities — but had now been told otherwise by Hawking´s office.
