| First, congratulations to President Obama on his win. He ran a tough campaign and he has overseen arguably the best turnout operation a presidential race has ever seen. That said, this was a presidential election that the GOP should have won. Lousy job numbers, unpopular domestic policies, a faltering foreign policy — those are usually the things that enable challengers to unseat incumbents. Here are some reasons that Romney didn't prevail: 1. RomneyCare = ObamaCare. In 2006 Mitt Romney probably didn't know that the health care reform he signed as governor would serve as a model for national health care reform,

Didn't even read the article. Don't need too. Here is the real 4 reasons, that even the usual "reliable" journalists refuse to admit.
1. The media. 2. Over 50% of America want free "stuff", and whoever can give it to them gets the vote. 3. Squishy RINOs 4. The media.

One more time - many voters are kardashian voters - they reward fame and non talent and non achievement - by voting for the candidate who has that panache.
Watch one episode of the repo game, where a delinquent car owner can win his or her car, fully paid off, by answering three trivia questions out of five, correctly. too many of those people, regardless of race, don't know who the vp is, where paris is, or don't know the body of water bordering the west coast of california, oregon, washington. And Zero found a way to get those people to vote.

There are so many people here complaining about illegal immigrants.
OK, why aren't you complaining about the buisnesses that hire them? Like chicken and steak, who do you think works in the slaughterhouses?
Like your lawn mowed, have you asked the person driving the lawn mower a question?
You won't go after the businesses because they support the GOP.

Sadly I see American political parties becoming identical to those in France. The communist party (dems) and a socialist party (rep) arguing over who has the most free stuff to give away. A small conservative party might exist as a minority party.

#2 you are right about the media. No matter what excuse/reason we list as to why Romney didn't win, the reality is that all his positives were ignored and all Obama's negatives ignored by the media.
With the old guard media bleeding financially, I'd like to see Romney/Bain Capital get their "revenge" by completing a hostile takeover of one or more of CBS/NBC/ABC/CNN. Then when he owns it, fire everyone and bring in the best of the conservative new media.
The brain dead voters out there will tune in oblivious to the switch and will start hearing the other side of the news. Maybe this way we reach another 10-15% of the brain dead.

Remember it was Republican business interests looking for an unlimited supply of cheap labor that allowed mass uncontrolled illegal immigration to get up a head of steam in the USDA in the first place.
If the wimpy Republicans now cave, and go along with another liberal Democrat amnesty that would certainly legalize up to 20 million illegal aliens in the near future and put them on "a path to citizenship" the Republicans would be committing long-term political suicide.
"A path to citizenship" is liberal Democrat code speak for eventually granting the legalized aliens US voting rights. The vast majority of illegal aliens are poor, low wage earners, with limited educations, who have large families, and when you get to the bottom line have little or no tax liability and who are thus natural liberal Democrat voters.
The liberal Democrats consider just about all illegal aliens to be potential liberal Democrat voters, that's why the liberal Democrats always oppose and sabotage any seemingly effective immigration law enforcement measures.
Even if only about 50% of the legalized aliens ever eventually register to vote, and then actually vote, the liberal Democrats know those people would constitute millions of new voters for them, with which they could permanently alter the political balance of the USA to the point where it would be impossible for the Republicans to ever again win national elections.

For what it's worth, here's two additional reasons.
1) Ron Paul supporters (libertarians) all collectively decided to 'sit this election out' and a lot of them didn't vote at all. My son was one of these.
2) There were a lot of evangelical Christian voters who, at the end, could not bring themselves to vote for a Mormon. My daughter was one of these.
I do not fit into either of these two categories. My wife and I both financially supported and voted for Romney.
I'm a rabid Republican/conservative; but, I have to admit, both of our votes were more of an anti-Obama vote than a pro-Romney vote.
Now, all of the reasons mentioned in the article are all valid and played a huge part in Romney's defeat. But, I believe my two reasons were partly responsible for Romney not getting as many votes as McCain did in the last election.

According to the local paper, Woodward “told an unflattering, but amusing story about sitting next to former Vice President Al Gore at a dinner, saying being with him was taxing.” “To be really honest, it’s unpleasant,” the journalist added of his experience with Gore. Woodward also said that the former VP “pressed him on why the journalist didn’t go after Bush, who beat Gore in the 2000 presidential election, over the war in Iraq.”

Below is an email that David Horowitz sent to the editor of The Daily Beast in response to their recent interview with Bill Ayers. When you interview a shallow, murderous liar like Billy Ayers, you should assign someone who is at least familiar with the basic facts. The Weather Underground was created in 1969, not after the Townhouse explosion which took place in 1970. The Underground was created with a formal “Declaration of War” against “Amerikka.” By their own account at the time (not in retrospect of course) Ayers and his friends were intending to start a race war

CARACAS - Venezuelan opposition leader Henrique Capriles expressed outrage on Monday at the description of his supporters as "heirs of Hitler" by election rival and acting President Nicolas Maduro. The buildup to the South American OPEC nation´s April 14 vote has been characterized by highly personalized attacks between both candidates hoping to replace the late Hugo Chavez. At the weekend, Maduro compared opposition complaints about Cuban doctors working in Venezuela with the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. "The heirs of Hitler are leading a campaign in Venezuela against the Cuban people," he said.

MOBILE, Ala. — The crippled cruise ship whose sewage-filled breakdown in the Gulf of Mexico subjected thousands to horrendous conditions tore loose Wednesday from the dock where it´s being repaired, lumbered downriver and crunched into a cargo ship. Wind gusts near hurricane strength shoved the 900-foot Carnival Triumph free from its mooring in downtown Mobile, Ala., where the ship was brought in a five-day ordeal that began when an engine fire stranded it off of Mexico in February. Hours later, four tug boats were using several mooring lines to secure the ship to a nearby pier.

Communist Party (PC) leader Guillermo Teillier has attracted vehement criticism from fellow politicians after admitting to authorizing a failed assassination attempt on right-wing dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1986 and defending the use of violence in certain political situations. In an interview by El Semanal published Sunday, Teillier spoke frankly about his role as leader and military chief of the Communist Party during the 1980s. Teillier described the attempt on Pinochet’s life as “a party decision” and, although it was unsuccessful, lauded it for “laying bare the weaknesses of the dictatorship”

Amid an accelerated rise in expenditure, increasing losses in state-run oil companies, and costly subsidies, Venezuela´s income is not enough for the Government, which currently faces a serious fiscal imbalance although the oil basket averages a record high of USD 103 per barrel. As a result, two devaluations have been implemented in the last five weeks so as to obtain more bolivars per petrodollars. However, it all seems that despite the significant adjustment in the foreign exchange rate, which will spur the cost of imports and therefore will hit the people, the fiscal crisis will continue.

The AP says most of the pardons were granted to criminals convicted of low-level offenses, though not all were small-time offenders: Most were for people convicted of selling or possessing drugs. However, Robert Phillip Brown was convicted of murder. He was paroled in 1996 after serving 15 years in prison. ... Others pardoned included Francisco Mauricio Nunes, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and James David Vercellino, who was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Texas employment surged in February as employers added the most new jobs ever in a month. The Texas Workforce Commission on Friday reported 80,600 new jobs across the state. That more than made up for a slow start in January, when an upwardly revised 13,800 jobs were added. The job growth appears to be the highest monthly gain since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking such data in 1939. Texas’ unemployment rate, however, inched up to 6.4 percent, though it was still well below the U.S. rate of 7.7 percent for February. “The addition of over 80,000 jobs in a single month

It’s no secret that Egyptian slavery is as old as the pyramids. It’s also common knowledge that Barack Obama’s ancestors owned slaves. So it’s really no surprise that he helped usher in a radical Egpytian regime that is restoring slavery. According to the AP Egypt’s new constitution has dropped its ban on slavery: Omissions of certain articles, such as bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties, were equally worrying to critics of the new draft, who pulled out from the panel before the vote. The Obama administration declined to criticize Egypt’s constitution despite its slavery clause.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
