It is only now becoming evident how important the first amendment and a free and honest press is to our republic. Voters can not make an informed choice if they are not informed. The press no longer does that job and as a result the country has been lost.
There really is no way back. Some things simply can not be fixed.

It will take generations to fix our country. Many teachers of the arts and 'social sciences' are nothing more than leftist indoctrinators. They know NOTHING of real history; of the founding of our nation or of the founding documents. They believe and are zealots of the limited and perverse "histories" they learned, fed to them by rabid socialists. They have infected our children with the same virus.
We need to have the next few generations home schooled or provide vouchers for schools that provide REAL educations in history, geography and the influences of the culture during historical eras. Not the pap fed them by the NEA and other teachers' unions.
I cry for our country and grandchildren!!

No need to apologize for mis-reading this nation's citizenry. Your an optomist like so many others who still hold out some shred of hope. The progressive/socialists literally HATE this country and want to turn it into a replica of European Socialism. Being the patient types they are, they gradually took over our public education systems and pretty much every institute of higher learning in the country. The results of their generational indoctrination efforts was realized in 2008. They now have over half the nation beholding to them through entitlement programs, or like the blacks (and soon enough, the Hispanics)simply "property" of the progressive/socialists. The wife and I agree that the first state that starts succession efforts, we are moving there.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has permanently revoked the federal firearms license of East Windsor, Conn., gun store owner David LaGuercia, whose shop reportedly sold guns used in the Newtown school massacre and a second Connecticut mass shooting. ATF spokeswoman Deb Seifert told The Journal News on Thursday that she could not be more specific on the reasons LaGuercia’s license was revoked. An autopsy on Shain Gandee, a cast member of the MTV reality show Buckwild, showed he died of carbon monoxide poisoning, the Kanawha County sheriff’s department said yesterday. Spain´s Princess Cristina has been summoned to appear in court over allegations that her husband misused millions of euros of public money. It is reported to be the first court summons for a direct descendant of the Spanish king. She is King Juan Carlos´s youngest daughter. In 1973 she was admitted to Princeton University as part of only the fifth coeducational class in the school´s history. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school.
