Liberal Lecturing Begins:
ABC's Dowd Knocks 'Mad

Newsbusters, by Scott Whitlock

In the aftermath of Barack Obama's reelection, the lecturing and advice from the liberal media began on Wednesday's Good Morning America. ABC analyst Matt Dowd mocked the GOP as a "Mad Men party in a Modern Family America." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] (The Mad Men reference is to the AMC series set in the 1960s. Modern Family is a gay-friendly sitcom on ABC.) According to Dowd, "And it doesn't work anymore. And it just doesn't fit anymore." Host George Stephanopoulos insisted the results indicate that "this is a changing America, which makes it a changing electorate."

Hey, Maureen, half the country didn't vote Democrat.

I think we need to change the electoral college vote allocation to ensure each district vote winner is allocated proportionally instead of winner-takes-all.

It would be more fair, and ensure less partisan politics. After all, Democrats start with over 100 EV's without spending any time and effort just taking CA, NY, IL and a few other blue states.

LA county has more people than 40+ states alone.

Matthew Dowd's exuberantly snide one-sided opinions make him increasingly unwatchable as a news analyst. He could barely contain his attitude on This Week this past Sunday.
Hey ABCNews, wise up and ship this character off to MSNBC, pronto.

So explain Republicans winning at State and Local levels?

Oh yeah, that's where the fiscal problems will hit home first. Washington will soon find itself it hot water...and that's when responsible government will be 'chic' again...

#7, to see the riots in Europe this year and the riots here next year. The global debt is going to wreck fiat currencies almost everywhere. The big dog, US, is sick and we can't do what we might do to get out of it. We are NOT going to be energy independent, we are NOT going to contract the federal spending which is already out of control and getting worse. Insurmountable debt, incredible debt will first suck out earnings and savings from everyone, but it won't be enough to feed the parasites and commitments. Then chaos. Sometime in the next 4 years there will be a push for new currency or a North American dollar, but first ruin and suffering which will be extended by throwing scapegoats into the crowd rather than hold the criminals in government responsible for their stupidity, greed and criminal behavior.

Friends, fans and veteran politicos congregated in College Station on Friday to kick off a celebration of George H.W. Bush´s presidency. The event, hosted at the George Bush Presidential Library Center, commemorated the 25th anniversary of his presidency, featured panels on key legislation and culminated with the unveiling of a statue of the 41st president. Neither Bush nor his wife spoke during the event but they did attend some of the panels, much to the delight of the crowd. Bush sported a special pair of "41" socks created specially for the anniversary. "President Bush had this uncanny ability to bring and

Republican gubernatorial candidate Pete Ricketts was officially endorsed on Friday morning by former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who spoke before a wildly enthusiastic crowd at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island. Palin was joined in that endorsement by former Republican Gov. Kay Orr, who has been working on Ricketts’ behalf within GOP circles but endorsed his candidacy in a very public way on Friday. In giving their endorsements to Ricketts, Palin and Orr formed a mutual admiration society. Orr said she and her late husband, Bill, were driving home from Iowa when a talk radio program was

President Obama on Saturday continued his election-year assault on the House GOP’s latest budget proposal, telling Americans the plan would “raise taxes on middle-class families with kids” and cut crucial programs while giving more handouts to the rich. In his weekly address, Mr. Obama made his case — without explicitly saying so — why voters should elect more Democrats in this November’s midterm elections and contrasted the GOP plan with his party’s priorities. “This week, the Republicans in Congress put forward a very different budget … it shrinks opportunity and makes it harder for Americans who work hard to get

A federal proposal requiring more efficiency from wood-burning stoves has ignited a debate between the Obama administration and lawmakers who oppose the new regulations, arguing the rules impose an unfair burden on people in remote areas. The Environmental Protection Agency proposed a rule changes in January that would dramatically tighten emissions requirements on new wood-powered heaters, though does not impact ones already in homes. The EPA estimates that as much as 13 percent of all soot pollution in the U.S. is a result of inefficient wood-fired stoves and boilers. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.
