Brooks: Obama’s ‘very
clean administration,’
scandal-free first term
signs of what’s to come

Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

After President Barack Obama’s re-election victory Tuesday night, David Brooks that despite displaying “arrogance” at times, the ”high integrity” and “very clean administration” of his first term will likely keep him free of second-term scandals. “First of all, I would say if anybody is subject to overconfidence, I would say it’s Barack Obama,” the New York Times columnist said during the PBS News Hour post-election coverage. “But I do think there are a couple of things that are character-logical that will guard against some of the common flaws of second terms. First, he’s a man of high integrity

Comments:
This just takes my breath away. How in the world can someone see something so differently??? 0bama is a man of high integrity who has run a very clean administration?? To that I say Fast & Furious and Benghazi, lawless executive orders, just to name a few. I kept hoping this was satire. It's not.

The media made sure he was "scandal-free".

It's little solace, but I predict that the media, having nothing really to hide anymore, are going to start beating up on Dems who are looking to 2014 and 2016. Given the likelihood of further stagnation, frutration, recession and perhaps depression, there are going to be Dems who are going to start openly criticizing the administration. At that point, the dam will break.

This is not comforting in the least, but at least there is a show to come.

Alhough the 41-year-old often stirs up controversy (thanks to everything from her touting her own wood-burning pizza oven to referring to her recent breakup as a "conscious uncoupling"), this latest reaction is due, in part, to a New York Post open letter to Paltrow regarding an interview she gave on the challenges of being a movie-star mom. On Wednesday, Paltrow, who announced her split from husband Chris Martin this week, told E! News, “I think it´s different when you have an

On Friday night O’Reilly stood by his words and called Lee both a “pinhead” and a “liar” in response. O’Reilly mocked Lee’s insinuation on MSNBC that on the right, “we all use phrases that denigrate African-Americans.” He went through a list of examples he believes bolsters his “race hustler” charge and said, “How about pinhead, congresswoman? Having done his darndest in The Hague, Barack Obama is taking his “cast of 100s” caravan to the sands of the Saudis. Riyadh may seem a strange place to end a European tour, but Mr. Obama often does the unexpected. What he does not do when travelling, however, is deal directly with the really bad stuff. Even at The Hague, as tens of thousands of Russian troops massed on Ukraine’s border, he sought to divert attention from the calamity on Europe’s frontier. Instead, he asserted that Russia’s aggression was a sign of weakness, and Moscow would sooner or later come to

The White House took steps Friday toward issuing methane emissions regulations at hydraulic fracturing sites, a move that would slash greenhouse gas emissions in hopes of meeting President Obama´s climate goals but will invite backlash from industry. The news is a victory for environmental groups, which note that methane -- a short-lived, potent greenhouse gas that has a 20 times greater impact on climate change than carbon dioxide -- is the largest remaining unregulated greenhouse gas, accounting for 9 percent of U.S. emissions. The oil and gas industry, however, has warned that regulating methane emissions would stunt domestic energy production by raising
