What makes anyone think that a President who has basically legislated via Executive Order, is going to concern himself with whether or not he has a "mandate". He's done what he's wanted since elected, with the Repubs at best being complicit.

I've enjoyed many stories and comments here over the past several years, but I think I am done. The American experiment ended tonight. There will be no recovery from another Obama administration. Republicans will be blamed for all the problems of the next two years and the Democrats will retake the house. The fiscal crisis will only hasten the government take over.

My career was in defense. I say was because I do not know how I can possibly remain in my job, not only because of the coming dismantling of our military. I cannot watch up close the betrayal and death of any more servicemen. Nor can I work for a government whose sympathies are aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran.

So time here will instead be spent preparing for the much more dangerous world we are about to enter. The U.S. will fall as a superpower, and that transition is going to be very harsh. My goal is to find work that will exist in a welfare state and focus on my children. If I am successful, they will end up with the skills necessary for them to fulfill their potential in a country that chooses freedom. That is no longer America. I am not being pessimistic. I am being a realist. As a people we have crossed the threshold to dependency and you cannot go back. Best luck to all of you.

I am disappointed -- bitterly disappointed. But I keep thinking about this: Zero may have won the election, but God is still God, and God reigns supreme. A lot of people were crying out to Him over the past few days and especially yesterday. And yet, the answer was that this immature clown stays in the White House. When I ponder whether God heard our cries, I think of Romans 1 -- the part about God "giving them over." I think (and with the disclaimer that I'm guessing, because of course I don't know the mind of God) that there are other, deeper things at work here.

Consider this: Had Romney been elected, it would have been by just as small a margin as Zero has been re-elected. Which is to say that many would have rejected everything he said no matter what. But now that Zero stays in office, he'll have to deal with a host of things, including a possible impeachment for his actions in Libya, Fast & Furious, some of his executive orders, etc. I believe with that, the scales will fall from the eyes of a lot of his "believers" in a way that election defeat would not have brought.

Something to ponder on this confusing, heartbreaking morning...

I know a doctor who plans to earn just short of the "greedy" rich amount, then close his office for the rest of the year. There are other docs that feel the same way. Wow. I woke up this morning after a fitful few hours of - quote - ''sleep'' - and thought I had had a really bad dream. Now I realize it's a continuation of a real-life, already four-year-long NIGHTMARE. And the dark mist continues to descend on us....

But I appreciate post #52 and others who brought a little more focus into my red and aching eyes. We can't just sit here whining forever - obviously we have much work to do. Have we been vanquished? Are we that wimpy?

Not me. I'll be in a bad mood today and nothing will get me out of it, except remembering #52's post. But the warrior in me (and I'm a 60-year-old grandma!) will be exercising more and eating more healthfully. I may retrain for my CCW which I let lapse, and I may even take bow-hunting lessons. But I REFUSE to give up! I don't even know if I have pilgrim or Revolutionary War ancestor blood in me, but it doesn't matter.... I'm feeling that call, and I'll do my part to get this country back again, or start the new one.

Now, on the other hand, every single internal poll showed Romney with a landslide victory. Then suddenly the last two or three days, dead quiet, as someone noted here yesterday. Romney looked ill at his last debate. Christie looked neutered when Obama walked beside him at the devastated New Jersey hurricane site. No way do I believe this was a legitimate victory for Obama. The worst thing that ever happened to this country is voting via computer.

Watching those sate by state electoral maps last night, it became evident exactly who elects a president. Most states were awash in red with the exception of those blue pockets which comprise cities and large urban areas - the most populace areas of the states, i.e., the handouts crowd and their liberal enablers who continue to multiply like rabbits. The vast area of midwestern states ought not to even bother voting, as the number of electoral votes they can muster is trumped by the number of electoral votes awarded to those states populated by the largest number of The Great Entitled.

I apologize for my incorrect info last night! It now appears that all those independents? who kept telling pollsters they were voting for Romney were actually Republicans all along, only they identified as Republicans in earlier polling (2008). So that explains why the polling was off. Liberals were fired up and not answering polls!!

Last night was a big win for the new Dem coalition-I think it's now an unbeatable one: minorities, women, unions, welfare folks, and the media/entertainment complex. Really sad.

You anti-Romney posters need to face reality. No other candidate would have fared any better. It was about R versus D, good versus evil, takers versus givers. No other explanation is possible.

That barrage of negative ads that Romney allowed to go unanswered all summer long suppressed turnout for both parties. It was down around 13 million from 2008 and some 3 million of those were Republican. Enough Republicans/Republic leaning independents failed to turn out to allow the Democrat urban turnout machine to prevail.

The problem for Obama going forward is just about everything. All the pain from Obamacare and Dodd Frank is backloaded into 2013 and 2014. The economy is about to head into another recession. The job picture is only going to worsen because Obamacare encourages employers to hire part time instead of full time. Nobody likes what Obama has been doing but they didn't trust the alternative. Add in second term funk. A lot of people will leave the administration and their replacements will have even less talent.

The silver lining is that no longer will Obama be able to blame Bush. Going forward this mess belongs entirely to the Democrats.

The midwest, short of Ca and Wa, the south always go Republican. Forget New England already-any hope last night at times was a farce(I should have known better-Pa/Me).

The gov should drop the electoral college aspect and just make it popular vote only. To heck with this aspect of the electoral college being implemented to offset state's advantage in regards to population. Obama has broken so many laws, defiled the constitution, the we can sure as h change some laws as well! Besides he has steamrolled any and all laws he deems as stemming from 1776 white men. If he can quash old laws, we can quash old laws.

It's demographics. In PA Obama won Philly by 500,000+ votes but won the state by half that. PA is solid Red, but is represented in Washington by the inner city ... and always will be.

And it's money. We now have 30 R governors because folks want low state taxes. Yet we send D's to the Senate and White House so we can get some of other peoples' money.

I predict Obama will be much more concerned about his safety this second term. He's made a lot of enemies. His treatment of the military and the people in flyover country won't be forgotten. I also don't think it will take him long to begin pouring salt into our wounds.

The popular count continues to roll in, and Obama is pulling further away. At this writing, he has received 52.5% versus Romney's 47.5%. This was not close, Zero has beaten Romney as well as he did McPain. It's time to face facts, folks. This is a repudiation of conservatism like no other. It doesn't matter that we are right about the coming apocalypse, The rest of the country isn't buying it and/or doesn't care. Painful, but plain and simple.


Girl's Hubby

Having been so enraged by the outcome that I have had no sleep, my perceptions may be a bit clouded, but in the course of a tooth-grinding seven hours or so, I have decided that if anyone gripes to me about anythig: gas prices, food prices, or anything else, I'm going to ask them if they voted for Obama. If the answer is yes, I"m going to point out at length that this is what they voted for.

As for Ann Coulter's crush, Chris Christie, it was obvious that he had to embrace Obama or be denied Federal help for his storm-stricken constituents. Us plain-speakers call it "blackmail."

I don't have to read any further than #13. Those are my sentiments exactly, and I refuse to participate or support anybody or anything that takes part in the moral decline of America.

We are each our own House of Representatives. Arrange your finances so not one more thin dime reaches their hands than can be avoided.

May I add one observation that I haven't seen anywhere? EVeryone is amazed that Obama won despite having about 10 million fewer votes than in 08....because Romney got millions fewer votes than McCain....who got millions fewer votes than Bush....everyone is saying where'd all those Repub voters go?? Well, THEY DIED, folks. The older generation who was very conservative, independent, and anti-socialist is being replaced by the younger voter who is a very, very different animal. Repubs have to accept this and figure out how to win them over...

We were socialist lite, now we are socialist marching briskly to communism. My only consolation is that my husband & I are old, we have no children or grandchildren. I am determined to march cheerfully to my fate with my head up and the memory of a once great nation in my heart. I will give no one the satisfaction of seeing anything but a bright smile today. The Spartans, the Greeks, the Egyptians, the Romans, the British Empire have all gone into that good night and now we are going too. We must face our end bravely as our founding fathers did as an example to us.

He owns it – every horrible piece of it and the liberals who put him in again own it too. Benghazi,fast & furious, Hurricane Sandy, 16 Trillion, Afghanistan & Iraq and Israel’s fate. President Bush & the republicans cannot be blamed any longer.

We have been forsaken as a nation and God has turned his face from us. We were born free and will die slaves in a communist state. Half the country is on government assistance. They were not about to give up the milk that was free. They chose comfort over freedom hence they deserve neither and people like us will join them in suffering the consequences for their foolishness.

God said "choose life". This nation did not choose wisely last night.

I just saw on Drudge that Romney's totals didn't match McCain 2008 totals. DO you smell major tampering? I don't mean simply the old, "Everyone I know voted for...", I'm talking about major tampering.

Republican turnout was huge. Independents when polled, broke for Romney in all national polls. Why are Romney's numbers lower than McCain's 2008? Even if the Dems managed to outnumber us, Romney's numbers should exceed THAT lackluster performance.

I think this is a version of the BIG LIE. If it's big enough, everyone is forced to believe it.

The question is: Do we put up? Or SHUT UP?
