Welcome to the most anticipated Ldotter Thread since Hanging Chad night in 2000. Feel free to chat in a dignified way. Keep your tempers under control and should the best thing happen, let's celebrate together. It's been a long hard slog. We couldn't have done it without each other.

No #494 - the 47% have learned that they can vote themselves free stuff by electing the man with the goodie bag. And the rest of us will have to learn to do with less and give them more...

It ain't over until it's over, but the allure of free swag is overpowering to the weak willed...

They haven't called VA because there are still long lines in northern VA waiting to vote. Were on line at 7pm so can vote. Some places ran out of ballots and are waiting for more.

Try checking the map on the Senate races. :-(

I live in North Florida, and voting was a complete pleasure. Of the 6 or 7 poll workers, the majority were black, and a sweeter bunch of women and men, you wouldn't find. They "God blessed" me and I thanked each of them for their service. I have never seen the animus that has always been written about in the newspapers.

Strong Republican bunch here in Jacksonville. We did our part!

Absolutely infuriating.

Just returned from working at the polls in north Dallas; tons of first-time voters, but also an incredible number of entire orthodox Jewish families coming out to cast ballots, including MANY immigrant Israeli Americans (born in Israel, now living here, heavy accents and all). I had never witnessed that before in my life, but there they are. Steady turnout all day on all fronts.

#533, I'm not that surprised. Thompson ran an exceedingly lame campaign. He seemed to think he could just coast on his name recognition. He was never my first choice in the GOP primary. He should have been put out to pasture then. Much as I despise Baldwin, the silver lining is that we will finally be rid of TT.

I held off as long as I can, so here it goes:

I feel like I'm on a death watch for the United States of America.

If Romney loses, it will prove that Nikita Khrushchev was right. The US will have been defeated from within.

Fifty plus years of Communist infiltration in the Education Establishment, Federal Bureaucracy and News Media has done the trick.

The Evil triumvirate has manged to dumb down the populace to an incredible degree, enslave us to government regulation and faux largesse and fill heads with meaningless pap. 'Bread and Circuses' for the masses has replaced informing us of the truth about those who would attempt to force their ways upon us.

We are no longer a nation of Rugged Individuals who only want to live free of undue interference by an unaccountable government. We are a nation of Sheeple, dependent upon the Bureaucrats and Apparatchiks who run the Government for sustenance, guidance, direction. The Government has by Supreme Court decision and inaction of our elected officials declared that God is Dead in America. We will reap the whirlwind.

History Repeats itself and we have been to ignorant and selfish to realize what we have done to ourselves.

Unless something amazing happens, a great death rattle will be heard across the land this evening.

I took an Oath to uphold the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I may soon have to renounce that Oath as it appears the Constitution and the Republic it founded is about to be declared Dead.

RIP. Tomorrow will dawn upon the European Socialist Nation formerly known as the United States of America.

It comes down to this scenario:

Dick Morris ? @DickMorrisTweet
#election2012 can afford to lose Col and NH and still win if we win Fla, Va, NC, and Ohio

What bothers me most is that Zero is going to win my state, California. That is 55 points!!! It isn't fair that one state has so many electoral votes. That is why the lefties took over my state long ago. They knew once they controlled CA, they would be half way to victory before they even started cheating!!!!

If we go down, I can't believe it's simply a matter of Democrat fraud. If they're that well organized at such a huge level, they're simply unbeatable.

As mentioned above, they will get to suffer with us. As we're marginalized, they'll have to manufacture a different oppressor to struggle against. A cowardly new world looms.

#576, I hear you about the people who don't vote!

I just talked with a young person who said her mom is worried that her job will be gone if Obama wins. I asked, "did she vote?" - she said, "no". Mom and dad didn't vote. I told her to tell them they couldn't expect him to lose, if they didn't vote - that every vote counts. Beyond frustrating! That on top of the fraud.

So, those of us that sensed real danger around 7PM, I guess we're not such Eyores anymore.

Denial is for the other side. We see things as they are, and we move on. Right now, it feels like this country has entered uncharted waters, and perhaps we have.

But never forget: our Founders and many other people fought the longest of all odds, and gained our independence all those years ago. Now THOSE people faced unimaginable odds.

Dust ourselves off, and tomorrow we begin again.

What else would the Founders want?

I've been watching numbers in VA and NC. Romney has been up in both for the last hour. Florida is a dogfight, but the panhandle closes an hour later than the rest of the state. I am still quite hopeful. PA, OH, WI seem to have been called very early. So has the race between Liarwatha and Brown. I don't think the libs care that they'll have to take these projections back if they have the desired effect of decreasing GOP turnout out west.

Unemployment rate is high.
Fuel costs are high.
Food prices are high.
Clothing costs are high.
Debt and deficit are high.

Al Qaeda has morphed with more terrorist groups afoot, more dangerous than ever.

More trillions will be spent on "green" technologies.
Health care will be rationed.

All of this was known, except for the terrorist part. And this because the media shielded the people from the truth, sometimes outright lying, sometimes creating fairy-tales.

So, when the curtain is pulled back, and they see what a monstrosity they have set loose on this great Nation --once great nation-- when they see the wreckage of Sandy, when they begin to learn about Benghazi, when they are forced to remember the terror attack on Ft. Hood soldiers, when all of this and more, what then?

We live in a world of fools, ignorant, stupid, selfish idiotic fools.

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.
