| Welcome to the most anticipated Ldotter Thread since Hanging Chad night in 2000. Feel free to chat in a dignified way. Keep your tempers under control and should the best thing happen, let's celebrate together. It's been a long hard slog. We couldn't have done it without each other.

I have great hope. I thought of so many today when I voted, my beloved late mother, our lost Military heros, Andrew Breitbart and of course, Joshua Goldberg. God Bless America.

Early exit polls don't mean much. I prefer to see real results.
While I'm nervous as this is a critical fight for the future of America, I'm heartened by some important observations made by smart people over the past week (Barone, Rove and to a lesser extent Morris - he's smart but too much of a cheerleader).
Let's hope Obama's crowd is disenchanted enough to stay home. I know Romney supporters will do anything to cast their vote!

Overall results may be close but early returns seem to be trending 2:1 in favor of one candidate or the other.

I read the Drudge headline and burst into tears! I'm on the edge-been guzzling chocoloate all day and about to start guzzling the cabernet. I truly weep for my children and grandchildren in this hedonistic society which votes by how many sleezy 'stars' O can put on stage! I've prayed hard that the Lord will help us and wake up these people who think this election is just another of their inane reality shows.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY EXIT POLLS
Some early results

Romney 64% to Obama 34%
Believe that

Kevin at hillbuzz advised avoid Drudge tonight. I agree. He said Drudge is like a scamp who likes to scare us at these times, and also it means huge traffic if we keep checking all night. I do find that Drudge does that occasionally.

I'm headed out to have dinner somewhere without a TV. Exit polls are useless as Republicans don't talk to news people/pollsters. It will probably be a very long night as no one will want to call it for Romney early. I plan to tune in just as the first polls close. I will have a few fine cigars, some single malt switch and enough electronics to dim the lights. Keep the faith, Romney has a good run at the end and the numbers look good for our side.

If Romney wins I will jump up and do the craziest victory dance ever. Thanks LDot for this community thread tonight. We've got to stick together.

Ignore the Exit polls form NH. I was at the polls with a Romney sign all day and was watching who the exit poll people were polling. My town is about 2% non white and the exit polling people were polling about 25% of the people of color. They were ignoring white males over 50 and were targeting openly gay couples. Do the math, it was clear who they were targeting.
No worries here in NH.

What is shameful is that our military, who are risking so much, election after election seem to get dumped on when it comes to them getting ballots and getting ballots returned in time to vote.
We know this to be the game plan of the Democrats.
Somehow the Republicans have to correct this, not as much for the party as for the military.

It looks like we need to do an internal poll here to see which beverage wins as the most used to sustain our hopes and spirits. (heh, heh). We also hope and pray for a celebration tonight or tomorrow, if it is a really, really long night.
Do not look at or believe exit or opinion polls. Watch for real results.
God help us!

I am up and down. This morning I felt more confident than ever. By lunch, one glance at the voter fraud reports on Drudge knocked me down. Still, I can't escape the fact that the voters are more motivated than I've ever seen. I ask myself what has Obama done to inspire such enthusiasm? The answer is nothing. I have to believe that people are turning out in droves to get him out.

I saved several thousand dollars for a camera body purchase, but didn't want to spend it before the election, out of principle (don't stimulate the Obama economy).
If zero wins I'm probably going to spend the entire amount on guns and ammo, and a new safe -- at least one gun will be an assault weapon, before they are outlawed again. I don't want to have to reconsider my priorities but it would be the responsible thing to do. Look after the family first, pleasurable hobbies a distant priority.

I feel entirely different than in 2008.
I despised the jerk mcvain that I had to vote for and I knew he was going to lose.
He forced himself upon us because of his arrogance and did not care about working to get a candidate that could have kept the commie punk out of office.
Having said all that, I have a positive feeling this year.
Let us pray!! :-)

Prescription for tonight.
1. Find a nice bottle of wine or your favorite 6-pak!
2. Start drinking and nurse that bad boy carefully through the evening.
3. Be prepared for the MSM to jerk us around.
4. Keep drinking.
5. Continue reading this Roundtable and gain support from the crowd.
6. Watch the tide turn RED later tonight.
8. Drink 2 glasses of water tonight Before you go to sleep.
9. Close your eyes and get a good night’s sleep.
10. No matter who wins, we continue our assault on Progressivism.
P. S. It will be with Romney/Ryan!

I've just come back from the polling place. I saw a couple of license plates from a neighboring state in the parking lot, but last year when I voted, I had an out-of-state plate on my car as well. I live in a red, red state now, so I know my vote for Romney will count.
Even Democrats here don't want to vote for Obama because they're afraid he'll take away their guns. They will, however, vote for the Senatorial candidate, even though she's supported by anti-fracking PACs.

Hauled my white haired daddy to the polls. He met a liberal friend - one of the election judges - gave him a big smile, and said " Obama sucks!"

Here's hope for you.
The sooner our youth starts their journey from ..
Liberal to Independent to Conservative to Libertarian (maybe)......
the sooner they will get to the "less government and more freedom" values of our Founding Fathers.
Time and reality will change their minds.
I know.
I have seen this evolution begin with my three daughters (38) (36) (29).
My youngest has already changed her vote from Obama to the Green Party.
My middle is not voting this time AT ALL AND VOTED FOR Obama in 2008..
My eldest is sick to vote for Obama and I think this is her last "fling" with Progressivism.
Keep the faith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Romney/Ryan!
P.S. I am a Libertarian voting for Romney!

Thanks for the roundtable, Lucianne. AND the comforting words!!
Romney only prepared one speech for tonight...an "acceptance speech". I'm with him...have a little faith, my dear friends. The so-called 'exit polls' are just there to give the talking heads something to do. They are practically meaningless. So, as our gracious Hostess said, relax. I'm joining you in some adult refreshments. We've earned it!
#100, thanks for that map! Bottoms up!

Drudge has a headline: R 53% 046% Not sure what he means, but would love to see that be the final number! BTW, it would mean 1%of Romney's 47% also switched.

I'm spending part of my evening at our townhall helping to count any ballots that can't be scanned. This is a small midcoast Maine town so it shouldn't take long. At least it gives me something to do for a while - I already have butterflies!!

So nervous, even with drinking a lovely cabernet. Hubby's beside himself, cannot bring himself to watch or listen to any coverage of the election at all. I have been glued to the news all day. Did I say I was nervous?? Please, Dear God, we are so ready for some R&R!! We need to save our country!

R53 O46 means Romney carried the precincts he needed to in the states already called. No great gain for Romney, but no surprises for Obama, either.
The 53-46 numbers will tighten up very quickly once more of O's states start reporting.

Rush boiled it down with some good questions today.
Do you think more people will vote for Obama than in '08? (no way) Do you think fewer people will vote for Romney than voted for MCCain? (not a chance) How many Republicans will vote for Obama? (Krauthammer guesses 1%. I say .4%) How many Democrats will vote for Romney? (pundits including Dr. K say 5%)
Independents, who are largely disenchanted Republicans, will probably vote Romney two to one.

I have been a nervous wreck all day. What is the best alcohol to drink tonight to take away anxiety? Maybe just any alcohol. I don't normally drink but I am stressed. I was hoping my big lib sister would see the light in time. She didn't. She only watches CNN so likely didn't even know about Libya. If only the media was fair.........

Thanks Lucianne for this roundtable. I've been kept away by Hurricane Sandy, and providentially, power came back on today just in time for Rush!
Voting was very heavy at my local polling place, which is an accomplishment, because the polling place had to be relocated due to power problems. Nobody was saying whom they voted for, but several Democrat friends have said they just can't vote for Obama.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

The Boy Scouts of America today voted to lift its longtime ban on admitting gay Scouts but will continue to exclude openly gay adults from leadership roles. The vote by its 1,400 national membership came as no surprise to gay rights advocates, who hailed it as a first step to ending discriminatory practices in the 103-year-old organization. The ruling by secret ballot at a national convention in Dallas means that mothers like Jennifer Tyrrell, who is a lesbian, will still be excluded from the Boy Scouts.

Time magazine has finally obtained the smoking gun we´ve been waiting for from Barack Obama´s radical past: senior prom photos. It was 1979, and a 17-year-old Obama wore a white jacket and "sipped champagne" on a double date with his basketball bud Greg Orme ("They were like brothers") and their companions for the night, one of whom leaked the pictures. But the real highlight is the future president´s yearbook note to Kelli, Greg´s girl. "You are extremely sweet and foxy," he wrote in blue ink and respectable cursive.

Spanish engineers, who already spent some $680 million on designing the new generation S-80 class submarine, say it is a major “technical innovation.” There is just one problem the calculations show – if submerged into water, it may never come up again. The Spanish media has been furiously discussing the errors made by the state-owned Navantia construction company, which has spent about a third of the huge $2.2 billion budget only to produce an ‘overweight’ submarine that is not able to float. Spain’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Navantia detected “deviations”

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”
