The article is the usual nonsense. That said, I agree with the late, great Jack Kemp, we need to do more to involve and listen to people from a wider variety of backgrounds. There are large numbers of conservatives who are women, black, Hispanic, etc. They are conservatives first and not because of the sort of identity politics Dems play. We need to understand, however, that not all are as intelligent as Governor Martinez who became a Republican because of issues. We need to let people know they are welcome and that often means hearing from someone to whom they can relate.

According toRealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out. Republicans in Colorado have said they have not seen this much enthusiasm for the top of a Republican ticket in a decade, which is a contrast from Democrats, who are seeing a diminished level of enthusiasm from 2008. The Illinois Republican party claims early and absentee voting has precipitously fallen since the 2008 presidential election. According to the numbers, at this point in 2008, there were 260,376 early voters and 304,290 absentee voters. Now, the party maintains, there are 195,064 early voters and 46,232 absentee voters. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned.
