The Obama apologencia has started their attempt at the rehabilitation of St. Barack. Today’s story by Politico’s Glenn Thrush foreshadows the nauseating talking points that are to come, win or lose. Essentially, Thrush lets a bunch of Obama hired guns and sympathizers reveal for the first time that President Obama was never comfortable with the negative campaign he produced. Apparently, he never wanted to attack Mitt Romney. (Snip) I have two words for those who will peddle this story line: Gag me.
Is the left admitting the negative ads on Romney backfired? They weren't saying this when they accused him of murdering a union worker's wife.Or Bain Capital outsourcing jobs to China under Romney's orders.Haven't GM's parts suppliers been moved overseas so their cars can hit price points to sell? Didn't Obama throw GM's shareholders under the bus as well as Delphi retiree pensions?
I would have liked to see more red meat jabs at Obama by Romney but it appears he chose to run a positive campaign instead. The green loans and grants should have been an easy target for Obama. He was right for not exploiting the Benghazi situation out of respect for the dead people.
Pelosi spent a billion trying to buy back the House and Obama at least $300 million on attack ads and none seemed to have worked.
“In speech-writing meetings, he’s [Obama’s] often the one to suggest the addition of more optimistic, aspirational passages, aides say — even though he has frequently bowed to the counter-argument that he can prevail only by defining Romney in the most negative way possible.
Rather than "rehabilitation," I think this is even worse for Obama.
It makes him sound like a ventriloquist's dummy rather than just your plain everyday puppet on a string.
Saw the piece Rogers was responding to (I think) yesterday at Politico - truly alternative universe stuff.
Roger's point, of course, is that the "notion" (to use a word Obama loves) that our naturally upbeat, cheerful, inspiring, and positive president's listlessness, despondence, and moodiness on the campaign trail grew out of his deep discomfort with the unfortunate political neccesity of going negative on Romney is a bunch of malarkey (to use a term the VP loves - in public settings).
The WaPo pro-Obama posters on this piece all just snark about Republicans whining about tough campaigning - none even address the rehab effort, which was the whole point. There's no real conversing with a sold-out liberal. The Dems have truly become the stupid party.
It's not possible to rehabilitate a false image once it has been uncloaked. What really happened here in the last few months is that the carefully constructed narrative of Barack Obama has finally been deconstructed for everyone to finally see him as he is. And what he is does not look good to the millions who had previously been fooled into believing the false image.
The Narcissist-in-chief thinks he's a cool Michael Jordan-class trash talker and holds Romney in contempt as just another rich white guy who doesn't deserve it and who shouldn't even be challenging Obama. In other words, he's our first president to think in ways totally foreign to the vast majority of America.
So they are telling us Barry is so weak that he can't even control the direction that his campaign takes. Yet they expect us to be ok with him being the leader of the free world. And journalists think they are the smart one?
I just hope I live long enough to see these treasoness, traitors lined up against the wall and shot if their marxist so-called "friends" ever get total control of our Country. If the marxist get that control, these so-called journolists will be disposed of, BECAUSE, if they will betray US, how can the marxists trust them? In other words they are trash.
I've had a child in various forms of elective 'rehab' for years when what she really needed was complete involuntary 'commitment' for a very long time. Methinks the soon-to-be ex-pres would benefit from the latter. He will not go voluntarily.
Must add that I have a certain amount of empathy for his daughters who have been raised by these two angry, bitter, spiteful, marxist parents. What chance do they have?
One needs only to look at the man's face when he talks, and especially WHEN he is off TOTUS.
He was schooled in Marxist/Soviet-style rabble-rousing, aka, "agitation and propaganda." And furthermore, he taught this to as many as possible when he moved to the fertile grounds of Chicago.
I somehow missed Politico's author's name, Glen Thrush. So, when i kept seeing "Thrush", all that came to mind was the evil agency in "Man from U.N.C.L.E."
Here is our greatest problem: a media which --with the exception of Fox News (and of course "new media" and talk radio)-- is thoroughly a tool of the Left. As media-toads began to realize how much power they have to influence opinion (i think most evident in the Clinton years), they began wielding that power with greater and greater frequency until when BO appeared on the scene, there is not a scintilla of objectivity.
Combine this with the ignorance of the masses, the lack of historical knowledge, the death of common sense, and the media can control and mold opinion, and emotion (was going to say "thought," but there's not much of that going on out there).
Said one day to hubby: Dem/Lefties used to have the media in their pockets, now they're deep in their boxers and briefs. --an ugly image. But ugly it is.
If Obama loses--and I hope he does--it will be because of his refusal to move to the center and to focus on the economy, not because of his campaign. The campaign had nowhere to go except negative because O's record was so bad. Bill Clinton played it differently, and won reelection easily.
Remember all the jokes about Slick Lying Willie's presidential library containing only four or five books? If obama is booted out, there will only be the unmentionable foreign book and the Communist Manifesto for his library. All other documents will be redacted, hidden from view, no history allowed. Obams's disgraceful legacy will be called The Cover Up Library. If he wins, the New Media revolution will intensify and perfe'ct to the finest media in the world. The traitorous Old Media Mafia will slowly give up the 24/7 lying. After all, even Diane Sawyer, at one time in her life, was a good American. Maybe some of this basic goodness will come back for most of TV's current crop of Party Line Liars. Maybe the sponsors will wake up and stop paying billions for lies. Obama will not finish out his second term if we are so unfortunate to suffer four more years. Willie was impeached for lesser crimes, and Tricky Dick was boosted out of 2nd term for lesser crimes. There is good nows even in the bad.
What I can't understand is where is the registrar that knew oblamer came to Columbia on a foreign student scholarship? Where are the friends who know he is gay? Where is his SISTER? Where are all the folks from earlier days that knew he claimed to be from Kenya? Where are all the folks that know about his fake SS Numbers? Where are all the folks that know that Marshall is his father? I am just a working stiff but know that if I ran for office folks from my 3rd grade class would remember something about me. How can no one from his past come forward and speak? Can they all be dead or threatened?
Been thinking. Remember how the press treated GWB? All the slander, misinformation etc? What will they do with Romney? And will Romney take it like Bush did? The media is going to tune up and deliver on Romney and 0bama will go into "rehab"? Rehab for 0bama should include...forced truth. Learning respect for the American people...never having to make up apologies for our country. "They're coming to take me away ha ha! They're coming to take me away!" Can't wait for this day to end...
In the meantime, the RNC let the most vulnerable political candidate in history skate with nary a word about his false documents, coke heading, fagging all over Chicago, surrendering his law license, fabricating his entire life history, etc. etc. I sure hope they haven't McCained this election.
There is no rehabilitatin Hussein Obama...if god forbid, he wins I will make it my business to get a groundswell to impeach him for Benghazi.... I'm hoping that mitt will pull this off but there are too many ignorant ,parasitic fools demanding their benefits.
FOR ALL the soaring triumphs, soul-testing trials, and crushing tragedies that would befall Jack and Jackie during his historic presidency, the most celebrated couple in the world would finally bridge the yawning emotional chasm between them only within the walls of the White House. When Jackie Kennedy first set foot in the White House as America’s first lady, she could not have dreamed that this would be where she and Jack would come closest to fulfilling her dream of a happy marriage. “I said to myself, ‘It will be such a goldfish bowl. With the Secret Service and everybody here,
Twenty-five years after accusing an innocent man of rape, Tawana Brawley is finally paying for her lies. Last week, 10 checks totaling $3,764.61 were delivered to ex-prosecutor Steven Pagones — the first payments Brawley has made since a court determined in 1998 that she defamed him with her vicious hoax. A Virginia court this year ordered the money garnisheed from six months of Brawley’s wages as a nurse there. She still owes Pagones $431,000 in damages. And she remains defiantly unapologetic. “It’s a long time coming,” said Pagones, 52, who to this day is more interested in extracting a confession from Brawley than cash.
BOSTON -- John W. Henry took a backward ballclub in a dilapidated park and transformed it into a two-time World Series champion that is one of baseball´s model franchises. As the owner of The Boston Globe, he will try to turn around a newspaper that - like many other major metro dailies - is shedding staff, subscribers and advertisers as it makes the transition into the Internet age. Henry agreed to buy the Globe along with the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and the Boston Metro for $70 million, a fraction of the $1.1 billion
Goose Creek resident Nancy Mace officially announced her campaign to defeat U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in the 2014 Republican Party primary. The first woman to graduate from the Citadel, Mace is a well-regarded up-and-comer in Palmetto State politics, counting at least one notable South Carolina Tea Party fave as an ally, state Sen. Tom Davis (R-Beaufort). However, if Mace truly hopes to secure the SCGOP nomination, she will need to answer questions about another comrade, Will Folks of FITSNews. As the former co-owner of FITSNews, Mace presided over the South Carolina political gossip site during its most infamous days;
LOS ANGELES -- Michael Ansara, a television and movie actor whose roles included a Klingon on "Star Trek," has died. How much do you like courgettes, the green vegetable Americans call zucchini? According to one Facebook page devoted to them, hundreds of people find them delightful enough to click the "like" button – even with dozens of other pages about courgettes to choose from. There´s just one problem: the liking was fake, done by a team of low-paid workers in Dhaka, Bangladesh, whose boss demanded just $15 per thousand "likes" at his "click farm". Workers punching the keys might be on a three-shift system, and be paid as little as $120 a year.
Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama is being challenged by foreign policy, employment and the New York political scandals, keeping his approval rating down. "A week of trials and travails for the president. The ´New World Order´ is not as uncomplicated as the Cold War. A resurgent Russia, led by a former wrestler and KGB-operative, flexed its muscles and decided to give Edward Snowden a one-year asylum. So Russia now supports transparency? Yikes! Iran´s new reform-minded president reminded us, on the eve of his inauguration, that ´reform´ must mean different things
A group of property owners who voiced concern about the proposed wind farm on Lookout Mountain have filed suit against the two companies involved in the project and some of their neighbors who allegedly have agreed to have wind turbines placed on their property. The suit was filed Thursday by attorneys Tom King and Jeff Kirby on behalf of a group of about 32 landowners against Noccalula Wind LLC and Pioneer Green Energy and property owners Steve Shaneyfelt, Tim Shaneyfelt, Michael Shaneyfelt, Sara Box, Jeffrey Walker, Emily King, Chris King, Donald Chandler and Margaret Adams Moon.
Lit fireworks thrown into crowds. Purses and phones stolen. Gangs beating up people and fighting with each other on Oak Street Beach. Those are some of the occurrences callers reported to 9-1-1 operators on the night of the July 4. CBS 2´s Suzanne Le Mignot reviewed tapes of the calls. At 9:23 p.m., a 9-1-1 call is made about fireworks being set off among crowds of people at Oak Street Beach. “We’re over here by Division and Lake Shore Drive by Oak Street Beach, and there’s a crowd of people throwing M-80´s by the people,” one called tells
On Monday, the Eliot Spitzer campaign announced it had hired Lis Smith, former Director of Rapid Response for Obama´s reelection, as a spokesperson. It is the second Obama campaign veteran Spitzer has hired for his political comeback race for NYC Comptroller. Sources have told Breitbart News the staffing up of PR specialists is due to growing rumors that Spitzer is engaged in an affair with a married woman. Spitzer was forced to resign as Governor of the Empire State after revelations surfaced that he was a frequent client of a high-end prostitution network. His recently announced run for city Comptroller
Virginia candidate for governor Terry McAuliffe bypassed state law to acquire land for his “green car” factory in Mississippi and invited President Obama to attend an event for the company that subsequently bogged down in a wide-ranging scandal. Documents obtained by Cause of Action through a Freedom of Information Act request indicate Obama considered attending the rollout of GreenTech Automotive’s first electric car. McAuliffe was the chairman of the company, but quietly resigned in December 2012. GreenTech is currently embroiled in a scandal over the company’s EB-5 visas. A judge ordered one of Chicago’s most politically powerful labor unions to suspend picketing against 16 funeral homes last week after receiving reports that striking Teamsters had, among other things, disturbed a child’s funeral. SCI Illinois Services, Inc., one of the nation’s largest funeral home chains, asked a district court to intervene after striking funeral directors and drivers with Teamsters Local 727 allegedly harassed grieving families. “We are grateful that the court agreed to issue this temporary restraining order, and we are hopeful that it will help protect grieving families who are experiencing the most difficult times of their lives,”
Citing a potential al Qaeda attack, the State Department on Friday issued a worldwide travel alert and warned American citizens that the terrorist group may be plotting a strike in the Middle East, North Africa or elsewhere. “Current information suggests that al Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks both in the region and beyond, and that they may focus efforts to conduct attacks in the period between now and the end of August,” reads a portion of the alert, which lasts until the end of the month.
Executive Director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns Mark Glaze gave some ambiguous and potentially dangerous self defense advice Friday on “Hardball.” Glaze, speaking in opposition to “Stand Your Ground” laws, said in a circumstance where someone “comes at you” with an axe handle one should attempt to either “talk,” “fight with your fists,” “run away,” or “deescalate the situation,” but not shoot the attacker: MARK GLAZE: Very often somebody will come at you. They might want to have a fistfight. They might come at you with an ax handle. CHRIS MATTHEWS: Would you consider the guy with the ax handle armed or not?
American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
[Video] Rapper Jay Z appearing on HBO´s "Real Time" with Bill Maher says that the black community wants upward economic mobility rather than a stronger police presence. In a conversation with former Congressman Barney Frank about police tactics such as stop-and-frisk, Jay Z suggests the stagnant economy and wealth inequality could cause widespread social unrest: "The real problem is there´s no middle class, right? So the gap between the have and have-nots is getting wider and wider... It´s gonna be a problem that no amount of police can solve, because once you have that sort of oppression
About 400 area retail and fast-food workers, together with colleagues nationally, participated in a strike Thursday to demand raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. “If not $15, then something. I mean give us something. I work 36 hours a week and barely make enough to pay my rent, gas bill, light bill. It gets to the point where I barely have enough for lunch sometimes,” said Angel Richardson, 21, who works at McDonald’s. “I’m five months pregnant, what am I going to do in four months? I hope something changes.” The minimum wage is $7.25 nationally and $8.25
The administration has popped the bubble of hope some small business had that switching to part-time staff would let them escape the high costs of Obamacare. The Small Business Administration on Thursday created a website to explain to businesses that the government will simply tally up the number of part-time employees firms have to determine if enough hours have been worked to essentially create a "full-time equivalent." Some smaller businesses had thought that if they could get under the 50 full-time employee cap that activates Obamacare by cutting full-time workers and hiring more part-time workers they would escape
Government workers in the city of Seattle have been advised that the terms "citizen" and "brown bag" are potentially offensive and may no longer be used in official documents and discussions. KOMO-TV reports that the city´s Office of Civil Rights instructed city workers in a recent internal memo to avoid using the words because some may find them offensive. "Luckily, we´ve got options," Elliott Bronstein of the Office for Civil Rights wrote in the memo obtained by the station. "For ´citizens,´ how about ´residents?´"
You don´t have to be gay or even Russian to feel the wrath of the Russian government´s homophobia. You could go to jail if you are "pro-gay," whatever that means. And that´s under just one of a growing number of hate-infused bills becoming law at a time when, as it happens, Russia is preparing to host the world in the next Winter Olympics. The perverse anti-gay legislation is inflaming an atmosphere of persistent intimidation and at times deadly violence against Russian gays and lesbians. The question now is: What should the rest of the world do?
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested on Friday morning that the tea party movement is comprised of the same types of people who fought against the civil rights movement during the 1960s. Speaking with the Daily Beast, Rangel said of the movement: “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked. He added that the tea party movement can be defeated similar to how the civil rights movement eradicated Jim Crow mentality: “It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused
The nation´s most active death penalty state is running out of its execution drug. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said Thursday that its remaining supply of phenobarbital expires in September and that no alternatives have been found. It wasn´t immediately clear whether two executions scheduled for next month would be delayed. The state has already executed 11 death-row inmates this year, and at least seven more have execution dates in coming months. "We will be unable to use our current supply of phenobarbital after it expires," agency spokesman Jason Clark said. "We are exploring all options at this time."
I think she’s one of the most fascinating women of our time and this world,” confessed Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC, as part of his announcement that his network is making a miniseries about former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, with Diane Lane in the starring role. Words are funny things. For instance, G.K. Chesterton once remarked that that the word “good” has many uses: “For example, if a man were to shoot his grandmother at a range of 500 yards, I should call him a good shot but not necessarily a good man.” So it is,
A dart game that used President Obama´s face for target practice at a county fair in New York state is being dismantled today. Fairgoer Abigail Czapsky submitted photos of the booth at Otsego County Fair to HuffPost yesterday, which show President Obama´s face lined up alongside yellow stars in a dart game. According to Czapsky´s Facebook page, following yesterday´s HuffPost story the booth has now taken down the offensive targets. Czapsky says the Otsego County Fair Board called her to apologize about the booth and explain that it was being taken down. Not one individual on the fair board
