| DENVER — Roughly 1.8 million Coloradans have already voted in the election that concludes Tuesday, according to new numbers from the Colorado Secretary of State’s office. Republicans continue to hold a slight edge over Democrats in the number of total ballots turned in, but that advantage continues to shrink gradually, more evidence that Colorado is shaping up to be one of the closest swing states on the board. (Snip)As of Monday, 624,778 registered Republicans have returned ballots; 590,417 registered Democrats have sent in their ballots, as have 474,437 registered unaffiliated voters.

Poor wittle Eli. Now Eli if McCain won more votes than Obama on election day, Romney probably will too. So if the GOP is ahead by 2 now they'll be ahead by 4 or 5 tomorrow night. That should be your story. Obamas doing poorly in Boulder where he should be up big.

I suspect a lot more Dems will vote for Romney than the other way around. There is no way to know which way the indies went so all this actually means nothing. Except that Obama is behind where he was last time.

I wondered how he could say it's less than 2% since 624/590 is closer to 6 percent more Republican ballots. This guy is clearly trying to find a way to spin the numbers to make himself feel better.

I have not talked to or heard any significate stories of people who voted Republican in the last election are now going to vote for Obama this time around. However, there are millions that voted for Obama and the hope and change that will no longer support him. So if the Dems have an edge in number of votes in early voting, do they really have an edge. They only know who voted Democrat or Republican last time around, they don't know who is crossing over. Romney by Landslide........ Go Vote!!!!!!!!!

This article tells us absolutely nothing. Rounded off, you get 37% Republican, 35% Democrat, and 28% unaffiliated, so the Republican/Democrat advantage or disadvantage is totally meaningless because it gets decided by unaffiliated voters. If they break for Romney it's a significant victory; if they don't, we have a disaster all over the country. The reporter is ignoring the elephant in the room, or he is a nitwit, or both.

Singer Beyonce and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter traveled to Cuba “pursuant to an educational exchange trip” organized by an authorized company, the U.S. Treasury Department said in response to inquiries from Florida lawmakers. The trip by the celebrity couple spurred widespread media coverage after two U.S. representatives from Florida, Republicans Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, asked the Treasury who approved the travel and for what purpose. U.S. law prohibits financial transactions for tourist activities in Cuba to prevent funding of the government, which controls the industry. The Treasury permits visits for educational reasons.

These are trying times. Never in the history of this country have we been so weakened and polarized by what many view as deliberate government policy. Now anti-gunners in the U.S. Congress, the Obama administration, and legislatures across the country are seeking to exploit the Newtown tragedy to promote their “gun control” agenda that envisions federal, universal background checks on gun purchases, and that could lead to gun registration and confiscation. At the same time, the increasing militarization of law enforcement, most visibly demonstrated by the growing use of massive, SWAT-type raids on businesses and individuals, sometimes with federal

Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.
