Milwaukee – After thousands of ads, hundreds of stump speeches and a record war chest of campaign cash, President Obama is banking on a final burst of star power to boost his get-out-the-vote effort in the final 72 hours of the 2012 presidential campaign. As Obama and his top surrogates – Vice President Joe Biden, first lady Michelle Obama and former President Clinton – barnstorm the battlegrounds this weekend, they will have a cast of Hollywood stars and music icons at their sides. The pairings are aimed at driving turnout, particularly among young and minority voters,

It's just amazing what passes for a "star" now. Several of the singers are one-hit wonders who will whiz through their $$$ in no time and a bunch of C- and D- list actors and actresses. I've seen better acting at high school plays.

Good idea. I am sure that the average unemployed American who lost his home, can't find a job, is on food stamps and has lost everything over the last four years, really identifies with millionaires and billionaire Hollywood actors and music superstars. After all me an P-Diddy got the same 22 inch rims on our pimped out Escalades. So it's cool. We rollin low and slow bouncin with the beat and dancin to the music all the way to elecshun dayfor our Homeie Be Rock.

Had to laugh at their "stars." I saw that Stevie Wonder only had a handful of people show up at his last appearance. I wonder if that's the "rally" they were talking about in this article?

I read a lot of names of has-beens and never-heard-of-'ems in that bunch.

Hey! why isn't Madonna there, shouting to the crowd that they'd better vote "for f***ing Obama" who's a "black Muslim"? like she has done at recent concerts?

If i could, i'd like very much to be at Romney's Manchester, NH event, with Kid Rock! ;)

Obama is Clouseau! He's completely incompetent and completely unaware of
it. He actually thinks he's the greatest President we ever had. When I see all
those people cheering for him and it drives me freakin nuts that they cant
see what an incompetent boob he is. Its unbelievable. Gotta go. Some guys

My poor former best friend of the 80s is not very political but thank goodness she voted already (NOT for Obama). But she called me from down south telling me she watched this concert for all the storm victims. She was all happy that Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and a bunch of other oldies were playing. I told her, that wasn't for any victims...it was for Obama's campaign. You could almost hear the disappointment in her voice. I said, they are all Obama supporters. Every one of them! She went into semi-denial saying she doesn't know and doesn't care -- she just thought it was great they did their songs as ballads and did an a'capella version of Under the Boardwalk. I was glad she already voted...cuz I was getting a headache from the conversation.

Today, wife and I went to several garage sales. At one of them, the sellers had a computer printer poster of Øbama,, and his slogan (one of his slogans) "Let's Get To Work"- I pointed the poster out and said to the wife loudly, so all could hear, "Look, these people are Øbama supporters- let's get out of here!" Almost everyone looked at me, then the poster I pointed to and they all left, about three couples. The guy selling the junk flipped me the bird when we drove off. Wife told me, "You should not do that!" I told her, "We must speak out. The time for polite silence and tolerating these scum is past. We've been silent for way too long!"

Mitt Romney is within striking distance of Barack Obama in Michigan in the final days before the election, buoyed by more who are convinced the Republican is a viable alternative to the president, with the ability to turn around the economy. Obama's lead over Romney has shrunk to just under 3 points, 47.7 percent to 45 percent, with 3.8 percent undecided, according to a new Detroit News/WDIV Local 4 poll of likely voters. Obama's lead was 6.7 points earlier this month and has eroded to within the poll's 3.8 percentage point margin of error. It's the smallest advantage for the Democratic

Call it “Oval Office Couch Syndrome.” By the second term “inside the bubble,” presidents have completely lost touch with reality: Aides and confidants conspire to keep the chief executive insulated from the real world — the bad news, the worse press coverage. They think it’s their job, and lounging on the Oval Office couches, they nod along with the president’s every musing. But this presidency has taken OOCS to new heights — Mr. Obama has only a few trusted aides, and occasional leaks from the West Wing show a paranoid president suspicious of nearly everyone around him.

Pretending to be modern Paul Reveres, Democrats and their media handmaidens are doing their damnedest to diminish the Benghazi revelations with the cheapest trick in town. While there is always pungent hypocrisy when one gang of politicians accuses another gang of playing politics, the current phony outrage from the Obama Protection Society is exceptionally putrid. Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, is on the list of potential Democratic presidential candidates compiled by the extraordinarily astute Prez16.com . As a cabinet secretary (and as a potential, if dark horse, presidential nominee) Madame Secretary should refrain from slurring the Drudge Report, as recently she did, a slur Drudge, confidently, featured. Drudge is no fan of Napolitano. He regularly tweaks her as “Big Sis” (presumably an allusion to George Orwell’s “Big Brother”). Drudge is one of the most powerful — and widely respected — forces in the news business today.

This love is terrifying. Thousands of American teen girls are crushing on Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 — and leading a social-media movement to exonerate him. The swooning teens will not accept allegations that the college kid — whom they refer to by his nickname, “Jahar” — and his brother, Tamerlan, 26, killed three and maimed hundreds by setting off bombs at the April 15 race. While some scrawl the hashtag “#FreeJahar” on their hands with markers, an 18-year-old in Topeka, Kan., is going to the extreme — she wants Dzhokhar’s words inked on her arm forever.
