New Jersey an 'Apocalyptic Vision' Two Days After Obama Photo Op

| Two days after President Obama flew into storm-ravaged New Jersey on Wednesday for a 90 minute photo op with Governor Christie, parts of the state have descended into what one local resident calls "an apocalyptic vision." On Friday, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, this New Jersey resident described the situation there: New Jersey right now is experiencing an apocalyptic vision. Gas lines are a mile long. Hundreds are standing in line with gas cans. Fights are breaking out. Police and national guard have been called out. I've not had power or taken a shower since Sunday.

And you wonder why the socialists/marxist/communists want everyone living in the city? Things like this...if Christie was ready to lead...things would be very different in his state. We all know o is capable of leading, he is only capable of photo ops, partying and destroying America.

I've been stuck indoors in NYC w/o any utilities since Monday with nothing but a transistor radio to listen to local news. I just got power back this evening - it went out Monday night.
The biggest post-storm problem is the electric utilities. And, the fact that some of the tankers were not able to get into the harbor due to debris.
So - gasoline couldn't be unloaded, and some stations that did have gas didn't have any electricity to pump gas.

Am still a fan of Chris Christie. The man is dealing with a disaster. If you have to work with Beelzebub you work with Old Scratch. As P. J. O'Rouke said there are things more important than politics. Such as car payments. And not having electricity, water, shelter, etc. Had a similar problem in Georgia when a storm struck. The electricity went out and there was no way to pump gas from the gulf. I'd have accepted a tank of gas from Michael Moore and told him what a fabulous deep thinker he is. If you are drowning and someone throws you a rope you don't worry about their politics. Politics can wait.

I will lay this problem at the feet of Obama. He could have told the Pentagon to get a move on before the storm hit.
The military (Army, Navy, Reserves and Guard, etc) have these type of resources - Field hospitals - set up and be self contained with own power, etc - treat 500 people per day. Chemical units - set up decon stations and can give 500 people showers, fresh water etc. Field laundry. More trucks and helicopters that NJ will ever need. Tankers to bring in gasoline and set up pumps at a street corner. Engineers, Navy SEABees - trucks, bulldozers, etc.String temp electrical.
How do you think the military works in combat?
NoBama is asleep at the wheel. The big emergency is over and "Assistance" can be provided by troops.

I keep thinking about baby diapers, and adult diapers and just basic functions like that with nowhere to go and no privacy or "bathroom tissue" or flush systems (and rats and disease, etc.) -What about the helpless elderly?-What about those on prescription drugs or insulin or dialysis or oxygen? What about women with periods? What about women giving birth or people who need pain medicine - morphine? What about baby formula?...The list goes on and on.
And why isn't the head of the labor union arrested for prohibiting assistance from other state workers that are non-union?

But for pity's sake DO NOT give it to the Red Cross, seems all they can provide is hot chocolate and a cookie to the folks in need. Shameful. Talked to a lady on Long Island tonight, no power, cold, sent her parrots to live with a friend that has electricity and is toughing it out at home. Goes to friend's house to shower so she can go to work. Up early in the morning to go wait in line for a few gallons of gasoline. There are communities in NJ that are taking charge of their own problems. That is great, but I really feel for those on Staten Island.

Several of the reader comments after the article suggest that Christie knew Obama wouldn't do anything except make glorious sound-bite promises and so agreed to his disaster photo-op.
We saw it, we heard the promises--and so did a lot of Undecideds and Democrats who are about to vote Mitt Romney into office as they recall the photos showing him collecting the very items needed by people in the stricken area.
I did read that Bloomie, channeling Kathleen Blanco, ex-governor of Louisiana, said No to National Guard from other states, his excuse being that the only guns they needed on the streets were NYPD. Does he not know/care that the NG is at the forefront with disaster supplies?
Rule of thumb for those caught in a natural disaster, as frequently voiced by Charleston's Democrat Mayor for almost 40 years: prepare with gas, cash, water, and food because you're on your own for the first three days, then the NG starts coming in with water, ice, MREs and other necessities. They have pallets of supplies at the ready and helicopters to bring them all to the area.
Bush couldn't simply order in the NG because Blanco refused to give permission for their entry--posse comitatus stopped him from sending out-of-state NG without an invitation. That law has been amended and all Obama has to do is order them in. But he won't. Honey Bama don't give a spit.

The headline says it all. If the best Chris Christie could do for the people of N. J., was to rely on the liar-in-chief to "save" his State, then N.J. has a REAL problem. Fortunately for obama, the "msm" isn't concerned about NYC OR New Jersey or they might have pulled a "Katrina" on him like they did President Bush! Despicable bottom-feeding-media will be the downfall of this Country if they are not stopped. I also sincerely hope the victims of Sandy are paying attention to the lack of coverage by "news media" and know that we are praying for them. It doesn't matter WHERE they live.

[Editor´s note: This article contains highly disturbing, graphic images. Please proceed with caution.] Who is Dr. Kermit Gosnell? Dr. Kermit Gosnell, age 72, ran an abortion clinic for over 20 years in Philadelphia, now dubbed as the ‘House of Horrors.’ Gosnell allegedly performed illegal, late-term abortions (past the 24-week limit permitted by law), cutting the spinal cords of countless aborted babies. Gosnell also employed unqualified staff, including teenagers and two other “doctors” who were merely medical school graduates without a license. Gosnell allegedly made millions of dollars over his 30-year career and lucrative cash-only abortion practice, as well as

But eight former employees of a run-down West Philadelphia abortion clinic now face prison time for the work they did for Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Three have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. And Gosnell, 72, is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies allegedly born alive. In testimony at the capital murder trial this past month, an unlicensed doctor and untrained aides described long, chaotic days at the clinic. They said they performed grueling, often gruesome work for little more than minimum wage,

Tax documents released by the White House show the first family donated $150,034 to 33 different charities, representing nearly a quarter of their gross income. In addition to his federal salary, Obama made $258,772 from book royalties. The president´s effective federal income tax rate was 18.4 percent. WASHINGTON- Retail sales contracted in March for the second time in three months, a sign the American economy may have stumbled at the end of the first quarter. Retail sales fell 0.4 percent during the month, the Commerce Department said on Friday. That was below analysts´ expectations that sales would be flat. Readings for retail sales have been volatile so far this year, making it difficult to know whether the weakness in March was due to a tax hike that went into effect at the start of the year or to temporary factors related to the weather.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

I’ve been writing about media coverage of abortion for many years. And so have many others. If you haven’t read David Shaw’s “Abortion Bias Seeps Into The News,” published in the Los Angeles Times back in 1990, you should. That report also explains why we cover the topic here at GetReligion. But the thing is that I’m getting kind of sick of pointing out egregious bias only to see things not just remain bad but get worse. Just think, in the last year, we saw the media drop any pretense of objectivity and bully the Susan G. Komen Foundation
