| The last jobless report before Election Day found the economy added 171,000 jobs in October, more than had been expected. The report also revised job growth figures for August and September up by 84,000, suggesting economic growth picked up in the late summer and fall after a sluggish spring. While the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.9 percent from 7.8 percent, so did the labor force participation rate, suggesting more people believe they can find work. The labor force rose by 578,000 in October, with the labor force participation rate edging up to 63.8 percent.

The last jobless rate has already been revised. This is as much bunk as they've all been since Obama got elected.

Imagine if we didn't have those 873,000 bogus jobs created last month what it would be. This is how ignorant this country is. Just make up a number that can't be backed up to lower the unemployment rate to 7.8% so the president can brag about it. And, knowing it is a total lie. This country is made up of a bunch of fools.

Just listening to the lapdogs at CNBC - This is the gist - "The number is 7.9% that is up! Really the number improved from 7.8 to 7.9 - so that is positive! and more people are unemployed... so that is good, you know "more" ... So think "up", "improved", "more" get it?"

In a way this is not new news. The unemployment numbers for anyone but Zippy running for the presidency would make the election a farce. And it has thanks to ignorant leftys. 47% of the population wants four more years of this?

Sean Collier was born to be a cop say those who knew the 26-year-old MIT police officer who was shot dead last night by the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings. Collier, of Somerville, had only been on the job for a little more than a year, but he had worked as a civilian employee with the Somerville Police Department for about five years and was in line for a job as a police officer there, according to MIT Police Chief John DiFava and Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone. “Sean was one of these guys who really

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– The Inman Square section of Cambridge feels like a small town, with a mix of students and immigrants living in blocks of triple-decker houses, a Boston classic. But on Friday morning, the calm of the neighborhood was shattered. At 8 a.m., police rousted residents from bed, ordering them to evacuate. The brothers Tsarnaev, suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings, lived on Norfolk Street. Police cordoned off the area in a two-block radius and were reportedly searching their apartment for explosives. Crowds of residents, clustered at barricades, kept a nervous watch of the police activity. Before noon, police

Who says beauty doesn´t come with age? Former President George H.W. Bush proved the two go hand in hand after being tapped to announce the 2013 cheerleading squad for the Houston Texans football team. The 88-year-old Bush was all smiles as he hand-delivered roses to the team’s newly selected cheerleaders at the Texans’ training facility in Houston. The frail former leader remained in a wheelchair for the event, but flashed an ear-to-ear grin and American-flag socks that matched the skimpy garments of the cheerleaders as he posed for photos with the bevy of bouncy beauties surrounding him.

One of the brothers suspected of carrying out the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon faced deportation in 2009 after being convicted of a domestic violence charge but was allowed to stay, according to a government watchdog. “Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26-year-old killed in a wild shootout with police, was a legal U.S. resident who never the less could have been removed from the country after a 2009 domestic violence conviction,” Judicial Watch reports based on an unnamed source. Judicial Watch pointed out another coincidence: the other suspect in the bombing, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, received U.S. citizenship on September 11, 2012,

An increase in seismic activity in the North Atlantic suggests that New England is most at risk of suffering the effects of a tsunami in the near future, according to a Boston College seismologist. More than 500 people were killed in Chicago last year. Yet Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel still found time to berate the fast-food franchise Chick-fil-A for not sharing “Chicago values” apparently because its founder does not approve of same-sex marriage. Two states have legalized marijuana, with more to come. Yet social taboos against tobacco smoking make it nearly impossible to light up a cigarette in public places. Marijuana, like alcohol, causes far greater short-term impairment than does nicotine. But legal cigarette smoking is now seen as a corporate-sponsored, uncool and dirty habit that leads to long-term health costs for society

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who died overnight in a dramatic shoot-out with police on the streets of Boston, said he was a Muslim who had given up alcohol and tobacco and worried about a lack of moral standards in the world. "God said no alcohol,” he told a photographer. "There are no values anymore… people can´t control themselves." As of 14.45 GMT on Friday, his brother 19-year-old Dzhokhar was the subject of an intense manhunt in Boston and surrounding areas, after the brothers shot a policeman and injured a university security officer.

The suspect, named today as 19-year-old Dzhokhar A Tsarnaev, is seen just feet away from youngster while holding a rucksack believed to contain one of two bombs which killed three and injured 176 others. Immediately following news of the devastating explosion of a fertilizer plant in the rural Texas town of West, the nearby Waco Tea Party began organizing efforts to help those affected. The group’s president, Toby Walker, called a local hotel and secured a room for the wives and families of first responders. Wives and mothers began to receive updates from the front lines as they charted a course of action for the following day. Local distribution centers were identified and the conservative networks were activated to volunteer and help operate the collecting, sorting, and distribution of needed items.

Yesterday, the most modest of gun control proposals died in the Senate. It would have expanded background checks to people purchasing weapons at gun shows and online sales, enjoyed 90 per cent support among the public and came on the back of the tragedy at Newtown. Yet, despite all that it had going for it, the Toomey-Manchin bill raised just 54 votes--six short of the number necessary for passage. “This is a pretty shameful day for Washington,” said Obama afterwards. It wasn’t exactly a red letter day for him, either. Why did the no-brainer bill fail? Four reasons:

President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.” “The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.” As he spoke, Mr. Obama was surrounded by family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Also with him was former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, wounded in an assassination attempt.

WASHINGTON — New York Democratic Sen. As the hearing was happening, the Boston metropolitan area was on lockdown, as police attempted to

While the media are bearing the brunt of public skepticism over the handling of the Boston bombing, the behavior of government is also eroding public trust. Yesterday´s promised but cancelled news briefing is just one symptom. Andrew McCarthy of PJM notes that "Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday´s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon," and that part of it is the natural outgrowth of the desire of investigators to keep the details of their investigations secret, so as not to alert suspects.

Mark Kelly, the astronaut husband of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, on Thursday upbraided senators who voted against gun legislation by saying they voted “out of fear.” ”If that vote had been a secret ballot, I bet you it would have passed with 80 votes,” Kelly told reporters. He was referencing the compromise authored by Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) to expand background checks for gun buyers. It failed to advance in the Senate, with a vote Wednesday afternoon of 54 to 46.

After all the controversy – it was too much, and too expensive; it would be marred by protests – this morning’s funeral for Lady Thatcher in London was a splendid and memorable affair, which did her memory, and her country, proud. It was a moving, dignified and pitch-perfect occasion: unmistakably British, and a fitting send-off for the country’s greatest post-war prime minister. Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday’s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon. The anxiety stemming from the attack and the stream of inaccurate news about it is further freighted, moreover, by the FBI’s confirmation that two letters addressed to top political officials — President Obama and Senator Richard Wicker (R., MS) — tested positive for ricin, a deadly poison. As noted below, a man identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Mississippi, has reportedly been arrested in connection with the mailings. Early this afternoon, massive confusion
