The backup squad was sent to the CIA 'Annex' from Tripoli. While manning the CIA 'Annex' they were ordered three times not to go to the Consulate. It was more important to protect the 'Annex', than to try to save lives at the Annex. So, what was so important at the CIA 'Annex?'

My heart has been torn to shreds by this total betrayal of our brave and faithful soldiers. I may not like Obama, but he is my president, and he is the head of my country, and I take it so personally that he let our soldiers down. It is like we all did, and I keep seeing them in the fire, and under fire, and what they must have been feeling knowing, finally, that no one was coming. Oh my God in heaven, please bring the full truth to the forefront and bring justice to all who betrayed these men.

Obama voted "Present"

Dems want the Muslim campaign cash. They're going to sell us out for it. It's clear from the article a few up here on Pelosi. OMG. Why didn't I get this before?

Just thinking aloud here but:

Americans tend to rally round a president who is defending us or fighting for us. If the Ambassador had been taken alive and he staged an operation to rescue him, would it have made a difference in the election? The polls? Why tell our people to stand down? Why (so obviously) put an ambassador in harm's way? Why refuse to defend him with even the meager forces that could be rallied on short notice? It's almost as if he was allowing the Ambassador to be taken.

And that would have set him up to be the hero.

Just thinking... This would have been a helluva a fourth quarter news story.

It does not matter why Obama chose to let them die; the fact remains that he did and that should be considered murder.

When it comes to a decision, I will side with the muslims. Obama's famous saying just keeps echoing.

Just as he promised in his book, when the winds blew ill, Obama stood with Islam.

Huge applause for reporter Kyle Clark of Denver who put the question to Obama. He showed more guts than the regulars who hang out in the White House briefing room each day.

Obama knew all along way before this fatal day what was going on and made the decision - for political gain - not to intervene. it was more of a group think in the Whitehouse to use this rapidly developing "bad" situation as a means to their ends - Obama's re-election. Nothing more complicated than that.

Curious whether Barry (or Clinton)gave the silent nod to his companions in the Muslim Brotherhood to go ahead and TAKE the Consulate, but "just don't kill anybody in the process. Our media will do the rest for ya." The video was already determined to be the instigator ahead of time, right? No marine detachment was on site, 9/11 anniversary, and Stephens wasn't supposed to be there anyway. If kept quiet, the American public never finds out the truth. Appears like an innocently excuseable uprising caused by a YouTube film. (Spare me!) Sounds like a workable deal that, unfortunately for Barry, has gone bad. Our own Prez-o-dent was giving away the store and events went awry. Why else stand down the defense of the place? Brave souls fought back to defend the Consulate as 30 American lives were jeopardized. Again, just curious until we know more.

Great piece, but Karin McQuillan misses the point I see. The Benghazi "consulate" was not a consulate. It was a clandestine CIA outpost running guns and weapons to Syrian rebels (co-opted by Al Quaeda). It used the idea of a "consulate" as it's cover. It wasn't defended because defending it would have blown it's cover, and forced the LSM to actually do it's job of reporting on it fairly. It would have blown the lid off the whole operation, exposing Obama's feckless foreign policy as incompetent and failed.

And also exposing Obama as the liar he is, right before election day.

My take

Obama was taking Libyan weapons and supplying Al Quaeda in Syria through the CIA, the Ambassador was not in the loop on this deal. However, he did get wind of weapons transfers and was hot on the trail of this fiascal...He had to be silenced.

The Obamedia will never report on this.

Socialism views people as a "mass." In a socialist state, "truth" is whatever benefits the state. Most Americans view people as individuals and a persons word as "true " or "false." Given that Obama is a Socialist, and not an American Socialist, but a Socialist with a world view, his actions are perfectly understandable. Ambassador Stevens, Ty Woods, and the other Americans who lost their lives - viewed through the prisim of socialist realthink, are only statistics.
