Congress wants answers on newly
found Benghazi documents

Foreign Policy, by Josh Rogin

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 11/1/2012 10:43:42 PM

The House Oversight Committee is demanding answers from the State Department regarding newly discovered documents found in the wreckage of the U.S. mission in Benghazi that reveal U.S. diplomats noticed a Libyan police officer conducting surveillance of the compound the morning before the Sept. 11 attack and that the Benghazi police department had not responded to requests for more security during the visit of Ambassador Chris Stevens, who died in the attack that night. (Snip) In an exclusive report for Foreign Policy, journalists Harald Doornbos and Jenan Moussa revealed two unsigned draft letters written the day of the attack

Comments:
The Doornbos article was previously posted at LCom.
Fox News and Foreign Policy are considered to be doing the best investigative journalism on Benghazi at this time.

With all these found docs, you have to ask, what was the FBI doing at the embassy? It certainly wasn't making sure no docs were left behind.

Where was the FBI ? Well two weeks later they were still waiting to be deployed and allowed to go to Benghazi. Obe was still insisting it was the video --remember.
Strange a Fox investigative reporter could get there but not the FBI.

I think CNN actually got the scoop on this by finding the ambassador's diary. Of course some jack booted Obama thugs raided CNN to get their hands on it.CNN came under attack from the left the next day and nothing else has been said. This diary would be enough to indict Clinton and Obama and it probably in a bonfire somewhere,in an obvious obstruction of justice instance.

While I applaud any attempt to investigate this criminal travesty, the House has shown itself to be a hopelessly ineffective and toothless watchdog. The Fast and Furious investigation went nowhere, and it's likely that neither will Slow and Spurious.

I agree the House is near worthless. Their feeble attempts to remind the public that they are a co-equal branch of government are shameful. They are not even a paper tiger; maybe a paper Tapir.

Wow. Just . . . wow.

Two reporters, two full weeks later, get these documents that are still lying around untouched by our CIA or even the locals! Un-freakin-believable.

Oh, but our POTUS says, "We're still gathering information abut what happened & who is to blame" -- while hoping the wind will blow away all evidence that HE & HE ALONE is to blame!!

HE is the one who insisted the local forces are all that's needed. He is the reason our troops & even Ambassadors are unprotected during "the fighting months".

Why?? Because he desperately wanted to point to something he kept his promise on to get reelected: bringing our troops home. So our civilian consulates out there are just collateral damage to him. JMHO.

Singer Beyonce and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter traveled to Cuba “pursuant to an educational exchange trip” organized by an authorized company, the U.S. Treasury Department said in response to inquiries from Florida lawmakers. The trip by the celebrity couple spurred widespread media coverage after two U.S. representatives from Florida, Republicans Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, asked the Treasury who approved the travel and for what purpose. U.S. law prohibits financial transactions for tourist activities in Cuba to prevent funding of the government, which controls the industry.
