Scandal Deepens With New
Benghazi Documents: At A

Powerline, by John Hinderaker

Earlier today, Foreign Policy reported on what two of its reporters found when they visited the Benghazi consulate, six weeks after the terrorist attack there. In the building known as the Tactical Operations Center were several documents that had not previously been reported on, or, perhaps, discovered: One letter, written on Sept. 11 and addressed to Mohamed Obeidi, the head of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ office in Benghazi, reads:

The real irony is that hillary took the State job to keep herself viable for 2016, and another run for the presidency, and the libyan mess will be hanging around her neck and her reputation, forever.

Well, no. 1, I credit you for your optimism. But the general public is largely unaware of the perfidy of Hillary and Obama. Obama denies having refused help when Panetta explained the rationale for not giving the help a day or two after the attack saying it was too dangerous to send in the troops. How do you walk that one back?

No problem! As Dr. Sowell points out, the media and the BO administration is "cooling the marks" by simply refusing to answer any questions and then acting as if no questions have been asked. Then in a month or two, the response will be, "Are you still talking about that? Old news...." And you will be considered the crazy one.

No. 3, I think you're too pessimistic. This story is out there right now and having an impact, if the polls are any indication. We're in a new age where very few people only get their news from the MSM anymore.

Bring Clinton, Panetta, Petraeus, and General Ham in and then ask them the question under oath "Who decided to let the Americans in Benghazi die?"...after the election is fine and especially with a new attorney general

You're all forgetting that Hillary ran though a hail of sniper fire upon landing in Bosnia back in 1996. Her hot zone experience and coolness under fire, makes it difficult for her to understand how lesser mortals, such as Seals, would have concerns about their mission.

Romney will win, the outgoing Obama Administration will continue to lie, stall, and use executive privilege to hide the truth until January. In the spirit of 'bipartisanship' Romney will order the matter dropped because he will not want to start his Presidency by indicting members of the previous Administration (or worse, the previous President). Bottom line, the only people who will ever pay for this are the dead Americans and their families.

Reply 5, William Safire correctly labeled HRC's reputation some years back when he wrote she was a congenital liar, meaning from birth forward.

I cannot remember whether his article was before or after the dodging sniper bullets incident. It really doesn't matter a whit anyway, her entire life is a testament to the clarity of his crystal ball.

She belongs to the same sorority as Janet Reno, Maddie Albright, Susan Rice, et. al.

I'm not as pessimistic as #12. President Romney will do his job as he sees it, focusing primarily on the economy and working on the Middle East mess obama created. His Attorney General will be a competent professional doing his job as well.

Don't judge Mitt Romney by previous President's behaviors. This is a man of conscience, character, and a strong regard for our Constitution.

Give the Left credit: they did a superb job of controlling the youth via HEW. Threatening withholding of money, liberals control what is studied, who started or won which wars, what was or what was not important. Leno and Letterman run man on the street interviews, where young people have no idea who their senator or rep is, or who we fought in the revolutionary war. That is not funny, that is frightening. Especially when the muslims are still nursing hatred from battles fought 500 years ago.

I this was in fact a simple "Hit America on 9/11" job, then -

1. Where were Libya's defense forces? They have a rudimentary army

2. Where were Libya's police. Benghazi has police for crying out loud.

It only makes sense if Stevens was tapped to be kidnapped and traded for the blind sheik.

That explains why Obama and Hillary had terrorists on the watch list actually guarding the consulate.

They were hired to prep for taking Syevens.

#3 You have it correctly some other seriouis concerns I will elaborate in this text. After Obama boasted to the world I killed OSAMA then realising that El Quada was still alive and kicking in Benghazi was beyond the narcississtic understanding of Obama. He wanted and tried to by subversion lie about the murder of 4 US Heroes, and currupting the views of Hilary Panetta Petraeus et al and it was just a spontaneous uprising not an El Quada attack on the Consulate. The El Quada affiliate stormed the consulate on the anniversary of 9/11 , it was not any other date and it was in revenge for the Commander in Chief's utterances. This incompetant has to go and to make sure he does go, Benghazi should be the topic of every Conservative moderate independant broadcaster. It's intolerable that this White House has not told truthfully what happened and why 4 US heroes HAD to die.Logistics for saving their lives Sigonella Sicily 15 min jet and 45 min troop carrier. Soldiers could be lowwered into the compound.Remember when you vote he has to go.

From what I see, there is no one to pursue this.If Romney elected, from sheer size of the USA's probs, this will not be on front burner. If Obama and junta re-elected by the Morons of America...then nothing happens and "people are visited, inquiries made to shut up the questions, so-to-speak".
Unless some "free-lancers" intervene...as in deus ex machina.

KMJ Radio - Fresno,CA., did an interview this noontime and the news from that interview was informative.

The short story is, "Our Ambassador was followed from his AM airport arrival on 9/11/12 through Benghazi until he was killed."

His Libyan security team must have said more to others before his death.

This means PIAPS knew more than she will ever say.

SHE MUST BE IMPEACHED not just allowed to resign or ousted as a result of Romney's election.

Is it November 6th yet?

I'm afraid #3 is right. By the time 2016 rolls around, the MSM will be slobbering over Hillary, and will have conveniently forgotten about Benghazi.

All you need to do is remember Hillary's ludicrous lies about being "under sniper fire in Bosnia." Did those lies stop her from being confirmed for the position of SOS? No.

This story will NEVER die. It's the most shameful dereliction of duty by a commander in chief (think about that title) in American history.

All Mitt Romney has to do between now and Tuesday is say, "When I'm elected president, we'll find out the truth why our leaders in government let four brave Americans die and covered it up."

How many of your friends, relatives and neighbors, along with you, want to know the truth?

I'll bet all of them.

That was the yield from the first three days of work in a process that is expected to go on for at least two months.

WASHINGTON — President Obama next week will take the political risk of formally proposing cuts to Social Security and Medicare in his annual budget in an effort to demonstrate his willingness to compromise with Republicans and revive prospects for a long-term deficit-reduction deal, administration officials say. In a significant shift in fiscal strategy, Mr. Obama on Wednesday will send a budget plan to Capitol Hill that departs from the usual presidential wish list that Republicans typically declare dead on arrival.

Washington is edging closer to a budget deal, thanks to a gutsy change in strategy at the White House. Next week, President Obama will propose specific cuts to Social Security and Medicare in his annual budget, according to senior White House officials. That will put the onus on House Speaker John Boehner to show some leadership, too. He needs to push Republicans toward accepting tax increases beyond the $600 billion approved in December. It can be done. As I reported last month, Washington’s biggest myth is that a budget deal is out of reach

WASHINGTON — The North Korean army warned the United States on Wednesday it has been cleared to wage nuclear war using “smaller, lighter and diversified weapons.” In a speech earlier in the day, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel noted that North Korea has both the nuclear weapons and the delivery system “now.” It’s the latest round in an escalation of rhetoric and actions that began with a North Korean nuclear test in February. Still, military officials and experts don’t expect North Korea to launch an attack on the United States.

Two breaking news alerts came through the wire this afternoon: First, the AP sent word that Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has called North Korea´s latest rhetoric a real, clear danger and threat to the U.S. and its allies. Within minutes, CNBC announced that the Pentagon has sent a new missile defense to Guam. The reports that followed those alerts added some meat to the storty -- "Hagel´s comments come as tensions continue to rise between North and South Korea," etc. -- but they are notably lacking in context. How serious is the threat, really? Are the North and South on the verge of war, or is this yet another bluff?

My nephew’s high school government class is studying propaganda, a word most students associated with Hitler, Goebbels, and the like. “I deal with propagandists every day,” I told the class in the Detroit area last week. “They work in the White House and in Congress--Republicans and Democrats alike.” The kids were a bit surprised. “Are you calling them Nazis?” one asked. Of course not, I replied, but politicians today are using new communications tools to spread their version of the truth, much of it misleading. A smart piece by Nancy Benac of the Associated Press describes how the Obama White House “image machine” works--“serving up a stream of words, images, and videos that invariably cast the president as commanding, compassionate, and on the ball.

Since November, the prospective death of the Republican coalition has hovered over American politics, and the autopsy has gained renewed attention in light of the debates over gay marriage and immigration, both of which split the GOP from rising chunks of the electorate. I’m an advocate of the theory, first put forward a decade ago by Ruy Teixeira and John Judis, that the electorate is forming a natural Democratic majority. The Republican Party appears to be caught in a double bind, in which the electorate is growingly progressively less white, and even younger white voters hold less conservative views than older ones. What’s more, evidence suggests that voters maintain the partisan allegiances they form at a young age. The picture looks grim for the GOP.

Even that tidbit is weeks old. After Congress let the March 1 deadline pass without replacing automatic across-the-board spending cuts, executive branch agencies have been scrambling to cut their budgets and furlough employees.

Now one of those sisters has been appointed acting chief of the CIA’s National Clandestine service. It is a major milestone for women at the CIA, the first time in the agency’s history that a female officer has headed the clandestine service. But The Post reports that CIA Director John Brennan is “hesitating” at giving her the position on a permanent basis, because of her past association with the CIA’s rendition, detention and interrogation (RDI) program. This is an outrage. According to several former senior CIA officials I spoke with, the officer is highly respected and unquestionably qualified for this post.

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving."
