CBS News has learned that during the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Obama Administration did not convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG). "The CSG is the one group that's supposed to know what resources every agency has. They know of multiple options and have the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies," a high-ranking government official told CBS News. "They were not allowed to do their job. They were not called upon." Information shared with CBS News from top counterterrorism sources in

Comments:
Jennifer Griffin on Fox is also reporting this. I have to give Attkisson credit. She reported heavily on Fast & Furious and has been one of the few in the MSM reporting on this travesty.

He seems stuck on the idea that nothing could be done.

As far as #2's comment - "possible" is the key word. Since VJ won't let Obama authorize force against Muslims it wasn't possible.

#4 on Geraldo - he's been on a downward trajectory since Al Capone's vault. Wasn't smart or competent then, is even less so now. There are an awful lot of well paid idiots presenting their irrational beliefs as fact on TV - appears to be an inverse relationship between intelligence and pay.

Those men who were murdered by Muslim terrorists at Benghazi are heroes. I read that before they went down they took out 89 of the Muslim perverts. Hope that's true.

With few exceptions, the MSM are consciously suppressing the whole Benghazi story so Obama can run out the clock. Once the election is over, I expect it will get more play, because this thing isn't going away.

We will learn that this was a hit on the person of Chris Stephens.
A hit, a gangland style hit, performed by the muslim hit squad.

Yes, OP, you know when CBS tells the truth that Sharyl Attkisson must be involved somehow. In a world that wasn't upside down she'd get a Pulitzer. Under Obama, she'll be lucky to keep her job... and her life.

Sharyl Attkisson has been EXPOSING the regime’s lies and subterfuges, one after the other, since (at least) March 2011 when she dared to expose the Fast and Furious scheme in her televised interview of ATF whistleblower John Dodson. Following her initial exposé, Attkisson continued reporting her investigation of F&F. She has been a one-woman army battling the White House, even continuing her battle long after the White House’s Eric Schultz screamed at her and the DoJ’s Tracy Schmaler yelled at her in attempts to intimidate Attkisson.

Laura Ingraham interviewed Attkisson about that intimidation attempt. You can still read about it, and listen to the audio, in this Weekly Standard report.

http://tinyurl.com/5uwwzb7

And you can see Attkisson’s nearly endless list of exposés here:

Kudos to CBS, too, for continuing to feature the investigative reporter who is apparently feared by the White House and the DoJ.

This story make sense to us because we came in at the beginning of the movie, but what about the typical CBS viewer who until yesterday had never heard the word, Benghazi?

Network-only types will probably never understand what happened over there, or the Boris and Natasha competency level of cover-up that followed. Some people just can't be wised up.

What matters now is that justice is served in a manner that deters future Obamas and Hillarys from imagining they can get away with anything they can think up.

Sometimes I view my fellow l dotters as my graduate students. And you students are failing this one.
Since Missie Barack decided that there was no terrorism, he could not call a meeting of his counter terrorism group. That would be contrary to the administration's narrative that the arab spring was democracy in action, and that libya was being controled by arab spring freedom lovers.
As a corollary to that, Missie Barack appoints commissions, and ignores them. He does not hold cabinet meetings. He is curiously detached from the mechanisms of the executive branch.
He seems to have attention deficit disorder, in addition to his narcissistic personality disorder.
So he didn't call on his counterterrorism group because they might have told him that it was terrorism. He couldn't tolerate that.

Correct #13. This whole story reminded me of a story that I was finally able to recall: In the cop world, there is this "code of silence". Once that rule is broken, there might be a very heavy price to pay. Unfortunately that price will be realized, during a tense situation, when backup does not arrive, when called. This reminds of that exact scenario.

There were just so many resources and chances to help Stevens, I keep going to back to the theory obama and co wanted him dead, either because he knew something incriminating, was about to spill the beans, he angered them over something or all/some combo. It's Vince Foster, Ron Brown, etc all over again. Hey Hildebeast-we see how you are.

Left-wing magazine Mother Jones made news this week with a report based on a secret recording of a Feb. 2 meeting of Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell with campaign strategists. Federal and state law prohibits publication of information acquired through secret recording, but a 2001 Supreme Court ruling gives publishers like Mother Jones a get-out-of-jail-free card. But whoever taped the private conversation can’t wiggle off the hook so easily. Whoever bugged the meeting room or secretly placed a recording device will be in serious legal trouble — unless he or she was one of the strategists.
