| The devastation that Hurricane Sandy brought to New York City and much of the Northeast -- in lost lives, lost homes and lost business -- brought the stakes of Tuesday’s presidential election into sharp relief. The floods and fires that swept through our city left a path of destruction that will require years of recovery and rebuilding work. And in the short term, our subway system remains partially shut down, and many city residents and businesses still have no power. In just 14 months, two hurricanes have forced us to evacuate neighborhoods -- something our city government

One of my brothers used to work as a service advisor at an upscale Audi dealership. he said that dealing with Audi owners taught him that you don't have to have any brains to be rich.
Michael Bloomberg is living proof of my brother's hypothesis.

A climate scientist from Colorado said on NPR at 6:10 PM EST last night that Sandy was NOT caused by Climate Change, Global Warming, or Sea Rise! And this scientist believes in all 3 of the latter.

Interesting analysis this am. Sandy was not a vicious storm, just arrived at an unfortunate local of folks who were not really prepared. Sandy was far weaker than the numerous hurricanes of the 30's and 50's that hit the northeast. According to the analysis, the total energy expended by storms has been declining over the years, even as our ability to find and count them has improved. We may indeed need some serious improvements in infrastructure and in local emergency planning to address a return to the earlier climates ... but we don't need a DC czar to plan for how to keep water out of NYC tunnels, to require adequate insurance on at risk structures, to pay compensation to folks in the lowlands who choose not to buy insurance...or even to substitute for the extremely hard working (private) individuals who put in hard and dangerous hours to repair power lines.

It's almost as if the AGW clowns missed the lack of *predicted* temperature change over the last decade, and think weather just evolved to 'issue status' in this century. So far, their 'platform' isn't holding very steady, and the lunacy required to think they can *prevent* future 'Sandy' class weather (of course via more government bureaucracy) is more 'severe' than any storm...

Once and for all, THERE IS NO MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING! It is a demonstrated fraud, as the conspirational emails released from East Anglia University have shown. The Michael Mann hockey stick is a fraud because it omits the Midieval Warming period. There has been no measurable global warming since 1998; if anything global cooling. It is a fraud, a hoax, a plot for one-world governance, thoroughly discounted by thermodynamic laws. I could go on for 6 pages, but let me just say to Nanny Bloomburg--Shut Up. You are ignorant.

So this shrew wants to harp on about CO2 and do nothing to adust to a permanent reality that NY is seaside and can and will be hit by even stronger hurricanes. His solution is fewer trucks and bicycles to lower CO2 emissions? Come on, man!
It's also being reported that Obama's solution, 15 of the electric Fiskers, caught fire by being immersed in floods in NY. Sounds like a solution to Bloomie.

So, Bloomie plays Pick-a-Prez because sea-level NYC had to do two evacuations in 14 months?
Tell me, Bloomie, what kind of "climate change" will come about at Gracie Mansion when the mullahs detonate a nuclear explosive hidden in a shipping container on the Hudson River? Or near Battery Park, Freedom Tower, and the Statue of Liberty, destroying them all?
Obama might pay purple-lip-service to "climate change" to get votes from the scientifically moronized, but he doesn't even waft a single believable harsh word toward Teheran's bomb-builders.
If we ever find an important use for morons, the good news is that we'll never run out of them!

He used extralegal means to interfere with people's choice of diet. He believes in man made climate change in the face of the most telling evidence. The list could go on and on.

Bloomberg is another reminder that the knack of amassing a fortune is not a reliable indicator of unusual intelligence or education, and certainly not of wisdom. His opinion begs the question - actually, a number of questions:
1. Is global warming happening? 2. Is it caused by human activity? 3. How serious is it? 4. Can anything be done about it? 5. What are the possible adverse consequences of schemes to combat it?
These questions should merit individual scrutiny. They cannot be lumped together in a Chicken Little "The sky is falling!" frantic stampede to DO SOMETHING. Bloomberg and his ilk are climate alarmists deliberately striving to create and stoke public hysteria to force massive regulations before the basic questions have been considered and debated thoroughly. This is either not very smart or not very honest or both. In Bloomberg's case it could be both. He doesn't seem terribly bright, as this pathetic opinion piece demonstrates. And it wouldn't surprise me greatly if he or his pals or somebody in his circle stood to make big bucks off of any proposed global warming legislation. Mayor Mike knows how to make lots of money without working too hard. He wouldn't pass up a chance to cash in on global warming. Someone ought to investigate this angle, not only in Bloomberg but in every conspicuous global warming alarmist. Do they have a pecuniary interest in their schemes? I don't know. I bet some of them do.

Left-wing magazine Mother Jones made news this week with a report based on a secret recording of a Feb. 2 meeting of Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell with campaign strategists. Federal and state law prohibits publication of information acquired through secret recording, but a 2001 Supreme Court ruling gives publishers like Mother Jones a get-out-of-jail-free card. But whoever taped the private conversation can’t wiggle off the hook so easily. Whoever bugged the meeting room or secretly placed a recording device will be in serious legal trouble — unless he or she was one of the strategists.

A Michigan high school canceled a speech by former Sen. Rick Santorum after teachers became outraged over his opposition to gay marriage and threatened to stage protests and a possible work stoppage. Santorum had been invited to deliver a upcoming speech on leadership by the Young Americans for Freedom chapter at Gross Pointe South High School. But the speech was canceled on Monday after the school district’s superintendent heard from angry teachers. “It’s a sad day when liberal educators are allowed to influence young minds – extending free speech rights only to those who share their liberal views,” Santorum said

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

President Obama´s push to pass stricter gun control laws will cost Democrats in the 2014 midterm elections, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Wednesday. "I think the president has shown he is willing to demagogue an issue and that it is ultimately going to backfire," Cruz said in an interview on Laura Ingraham´s radio show. Cruz´s comments come as Congress debates passing a set of gun control measures meant to reduce gun violence and prevent shooting massacres similar to the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

During Barack Obama´s presidency there have been 32 background checks for gun purchases every minute. Since February of 2009, the first full month of Obama´s presidency, there have been 70,291,049 background checks for gun purchases, according to data released by the FBI. Using February 1, 2009 as our starting date, and March 31, 2013 as our end date, (the latest data from the FBI) Obama has been president for 1,520 days. That equates to 36,480 hours, or 2,188,800 minutes. Divide the 70,291,049 background checks by 2,188,800 minutes and you get approximately 32 checks for gun purchases every minute!

As he rolls out his fiscal 2014 budget on Wednesday, a new survey finds that Americans haven’t felt this confident about President Obama’s handling of the economy since his first year in office. The Gallup poll, which sampled more than 1,000 Americans, found that 57 percent say they have a “great deal or a fair amount of confidence” in Mr. Obama to do the right thing on the economy. That’s up from just 50 percent last year and hasn’t been this high since it hit 71 percent in 2008. Trust in congressional Republicans, on the other hand, remains low.

The media is all abuzz with Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy these days: she fat? Should she really be wearing leather pants while pregnant? What is that cape-like thing she wore the other week? Is she lying about her delivery date? Is she lying about her pregnancy? Why did she wear that dress that made people compare her to an orca whale? All of these are very valid questions, but bring to light another issue: Isn’t there some one else who’s also pregnant right now? Some one who is substantially more important than Kim Kardashian?

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight.
