Rep. Markey says 'super-storm'
Sandy shows climate change

Rep. Edward Markey (Mass.), the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee, said Tuesday that "super-storm Sandy" is the latest evidence that climate change will continue to lead to "extreme weather" conditions in the United States. "For this super-storm to occur so late in the storm season, reach such fury and have the kinds of flooding impacts that we are seeing is fully consistent with what scientists have told us we should expect due to global warming," Markey said. "It's time to admit the obvious fact that

Yes, the Atlantic ocean has risen and gotten warmer, but the Pacific, which is much bigger, has fallen and gotten colder. The weatherman I saw said it is the same pattern that was in place from 1954-1960. Climate changes all the time and particularly every few hundred years. Nothing new here.

Dude, this was not a super-storm. It was a category one hurricane, and it fell off of that almost immediately upon making landfall. If it had been a super-storm, the area where those frame houses that are now surrounded by water stand would be nothing but a level pile of kindling.

Besides the Long Island Express Hurricane of 1938 (which was the deadliest and costliest hurricane in recent history - at the time, there was a lot less property to be damaged than there is now but it was said that if the same storm hit today, it would cost at least $39 Billion) And then, what about the Great Colonial Hurricane of 1635???? A RAND study pours buckets of cold water on the Obama administration’s claims that it has nearly reached 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. The whole point of Obamacare, supposedly, was to insure the uninsured and bend the cost curve down. Those who had insurance were supposed to be able to keep it. Families were supposed to start saving about $2500 a year. If you believed the Obama administration. Reality, according to RAND‘s study, is that the Obama administration’s 7 million figure is deceptive. Supposing 7 million have actually signed up and paid their first premium — which is not a given,

YOKOHAMA, Japan — Climate change is already having sweeping effects on every continent and throughout the world’s oceans, scientists reported Monday, and they warned that the problem is likely to grow substantially worse unless greenhouse emissions are brought under control. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that periodically summarizes climate science, concluded that ice caps are melting, sea ice in the Arctic is collapsing, water supplies are coming under stress, heat waves and heavy rains are intensifying, coral reefs are dying, and fish and many other creatures are migrating toward the poles or

A National Labor Relations Board official has given the green light to Northwestern University football players to form a union. The March 26 decision by the NLRB´s Chicago regional director, Peter Sung Ohr, held that scholarship football players are "employees" for purposes of federal labor law. Ohr rejected the longstanding view of Northwestern and the National Collegiate Athletic Association that players are "student-athletes" rather than employees. While Ohr´s decision is hardly the final word on this issue, it does accelerate the legal and political battle against the NCAA and its century-old amateurism rules. Is Football Academic? The new rules set rear visibility standards that automakers will initially be able to meet only by installing cameras. At the same time, major automakers said Monday they are petitioning the Obama administration to let them end the use of side view mirrors if they install cameras that could perform the same task — a move that could improve fuel efficiency. President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows. The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. Today sees the release of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change´s (IPCC) latest findings on the state of "global warming" and the news isn´t good. Here are some of the highlights: Giant malarial mosquitoes the size of crane flies may descend en masse and drain us of our blood so quickly with their powerful razor sharp probosces that we won´t even have time to be infected - we´ll be dead before we hit the floor; Bangladesh, Tuvalu, The Maldives and Florida will all be submerged; Four horsemen with skulls for faces, glowing red eyes and huge scythes will gallop across
