Ambassador Stevens was engaged in smuggling sizable quantities of Libyan arms from the destroyed Gaddafi regime to the Syrian rebels, to help overthrow the Assad regime in Syria. Has General Ham been fired or has he been re-assigned? Seems to me, if he has to remain mum on this to keep his job/benefits, he has reason to stay faithful. Otherwise, I would think the leaks will start flowing. The military does not take kindly to being used like this.

Amb. Stevens was the point man for fomenting the Arab Spring in Libya. He wasn't appointed Amb. until after his Twitter campaign succeeded in bringing down Ghaddafi. At that point, a certain amount of hubris took over and he felt that he was a friend of the Arabs (a sort of Lawrence of Arabia). Apparently, either AQ or the Libyan gov't didn't like their toys being sent to Turkey. In any case, this is probably the most overt ''covert'' operation in the history of the CIA. I'm reminded of the warning on the tape to Mr. Phelps of Mission Impossible.

The Mingo County Sheriff Eugene Crum was gunned down inside his vehicle after a car drove up and shot him at ‘point blank’ range, The West Virginia Gazette reported. Mingo County Office of Emergency Services head dispatcher Willis Spence says the shooting occurred in Williamson within a block of the Mingo County Courthouse. A state official says the suspect, a male, is custody and had to be taken to a nearby hospital after being shot. Israel said it fired into Syria on Sunday and destroyed a machinegun position in the Golan Heights from where shots had been fired at Israeli soldiers in a further spillover of the Syrian civil war along a tense front.
