| According to a longtime D.C. political operative, the Obama campaign is thrilled at the timing of Hurricane Sandy and its resulting impact upon the election now just one week away. **ADult Content** Insider: The impact of this g-damn storm could be a hell of a lot greater than just cleaning up the mess over the next few weeks. It might leave us all with a real mess for the next four years. Obama team very happy this storm hit when it did. Media coverage 24/7 on the storm. Romney campaign has to halt movement for 48 hours. All that momentum we had on our side has been compromised.

I was just thinking how quiet Obama has been on this so far, I thought he'd be wall to wall on it.
Still, it's very dangerous for him, one of the oldest political traditions of all is - when the crops fail, the people kill the king.

I don't see this working. I see only people frustrated at local problems in restoring power or distributing aid or in having had their homes burn because of electrical shorts and the winds. And this early in a recovery operation anger is always turned towards the inevitable shortcomings of government aid organizations, both state and federal.

I don't see how this works to their advantage either. Dick Morris predicted it may make Obama ''look presidential'' for a couple days, but voter turnout in the NY/NJ area will be down. That won't swing any states, but it will hold-down Obama's popular vote total, which will make Romney's victory margin look even bigger.

I am more inclined to think that conservatives in the storm hit areas are going to go over that "broken glass" to vote more so than the liberals. This storm may just be the thing that keeps liberals FROM voting.

People aren't going to change their vote suddenly because Obama unexpectedly did his job for a couple of days. It was a storm for pete's sake. This election goes way deeper than that. Typical of these horrible people though to rejoice at other people's suffering if they think there is something in it for them.

Solutions have nothing to do with the weather.
Obama's path to re-election is a path of distractions (Sandy) and attack ads.
Romney's path to election is a path of ideas (5 poin t plan) and solutions.
Women and Undecided voters will look at them both and then decide what is best for them and their families.
Romney/Ryan!

It won't work for "The Won". He's not the one out there getting his hands doing something to actually help. He's all talk and zero action. Obama couldn't manage a lemonade stand. Obama doesn't want to actually get his hands dirty or mess up the crease in his pants. He's an elitist snob.
Romney is out there in the field doing something, accomplishing something real.

Good gosh people - he's still the Øtard and his group of ignoramuses. There are going to be tons of people (lefties) whining that something didn't go right (e.g., we couldn't get any quality looting done; my obamaphone didn't work; my welfare/disability check be late; there's no water being brought to my doorstep and given to me for free; who gonna fix my broken window; and why's everything taking so long). These people are perpetual whiners - this time won't be any different. That's what they do! Now, will the media report that? Nuther question altogether, but I would bet money right now that there are going to be a lot of disaffected people.

Romney is back out there today, looking human. I'll take that over obama looking presidential any day. Besides, why does a president have to look presidential when he's the president? Nobody except his rabid base is concerned that he looks presidential. If it sways one person, that one person is pitiful and shouldn't be voting.
More media mush, if you ask me. Most people know the mayors and governors are the ones responsible for their cities and states, not the president. Not all of us live in a pathetic post-Katrina world. Sorry.

False premise. Romney has been visible. He stopped campaigning but he didn't do nothing. He focused on the storm and his care for the people of this country came to light. Next, to make hay with this BHO would have to perform well and he has never done that. They have fouled everything they have tried to do. Why would it be different this time. Plus some will see it as politics by BHO. He also had to take a couple of days off ... and he even fouled that up. His peeps will not come out to vote, too much trouble while Romney's will.

I don't agree with the hair-on-fire outlook. That 0 will politicize a crisis is absolutely no surprise to anyone. Plus, the polls are still moving in Romney's direction.
Nothing about Sandy will cause conservatives to like 0. We will not forget Benghazi. Nothing about Sandy will rally libs to get excited about 0, because 0 did not hold back the storm or walk on water.

First, he's been borrowing $15 million from BofA to keep the campaign going, so he's over-spent, and broke.
By NOT campaigning he'll be saving $$$.
Very little will be resolved in the next 7 days, so he can't make much out of this other than what he's done - declare the areas natural disaster zones.
What will be evident in next few months as these areas clean-up is the bungling of liberal Democrats like Obama.

Bow-Boy created this storm and it is his responsibility. He made this storm. It's his storm. He created this storm to get votes. Socialist/commie/lower class Fidel/Chavez type voters love to ballot Bow-Boy 'cause he be spooning out soup to the great, demokratic hollywoodick intell-e-gen-cia.
Bow-Boy will now, for votes, provide free housing, in addition to free soup, as well as free cars and free tee-vees and free-"rain" rubbers and free extramaritalaffairs and anything else you could possibly hope to want or have...except...not gun running to Islamic despots and Mexican cartels and protecting our overseas ambass-uh-doors and getting revenge for raping and killing same which isn't really a vote getting kind of thing as one does have to protect one's relationship with Islamic despots being birth challenged as is Bow-Boy.
We'll just overlook the fact that Bow-Boy caused this storm and did nothing at all to prevent it from happening.
Hey, it was really Bush's fault and this is just about crackers.
Bow-Boy. Your birth certificate challenged gift to consummate idiots. Vote 2012 if you can read, and vote often. If you can't read, just have Bow-Boy email it in.

Obama will get no bump from the storm. He and his people don't know America and don't know Americans, and it shows almost every time Obama opens his mouth. He gets American idioms wrong, mixes up his metaphors, and sometimes says things that just plain make everyone go "What??" He's a talking parrot that memorized lines. A bumbling idiot spy that can't keep his cover story straight.
They were able to capitalize ONE TIME on American white guilt to get him elected. That's it. A fluke. One lucky punch. One and done. His reelection campaign is doomed. Don't get all flustered on our side. Just watch and lilsten for him to mess this up too. It is inevitable. He can't help himself. He MUST fail. He WANTS to fail. So he will.

I think the business owners all along the Left-leaning eastern seaboard & inland will be worried about how this storm is going to affect their businesses & the national economy. Will they think Obama is going to bail them out? Or will they realize only Romney can stabilize & reverse our national economic free-fall? They will be getting FEMA funds & more checks cut to them by this administration, even if Obama has to do it in a lame duck season.
I sure hope you guys are right. Regardless, we need to tie him to his words of leaving nobody behind right back to Benghazi. Every chance we get! And Romney better fight for his life out there on the stump. No more Mr. NIce Guy. He needs to act Presidential & say exactly what he would do before Obama does it.

Looking presidential...meh...the sharp crease did not impress today at his lo-o-o-o-ong speech to the volunteers at Red Cross. You could see the expressions of the people around him as he droned on and on....and on. "when's he going to be done???" "I want, I want, I want--yeh" Romney was more impressive taking action and expressing sympathies AND he has more experience in sharing with those in need.

I don't think this will change anything. No one is going to get a happy ending to this story in just one week. The best we can hope for is that power comes back on everywhere by that time, and that's due to the local utility companies, not the federal government. All those people with their houses burnt down and their businesses flooded out will have from Obama by Election Day is a pocket full of his inflated promises, and we've all seen how much THOSE are worth. This reminds me of a certain guy living under Berlin in 1945, who was convinced that he'd suddenly won the war because FDR conveniently died of a stroke in April.

Like me you were probably watching the president’s gun control speech today. Was told this morning the presentation today was a revised version that was completed just last night after a bunch of back and forth between the White House and Senate leaders. Guessing that would be Harry Reid mostly. Last week the president was ready to go all in on the executive order scenario. Confiscation was going to be in play. Then the backlash came and it forced Obama to back off.

President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his “full weight” behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.“I'm going to be putting forward a package and I'm going to be putting my full weight behind it,” Obama said in an interview aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I'm going to be making an argument to the American people about why this is important and why we have to do everything we can to make sure that something like what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary does not happen again.” Staff had split headline, added more text to prevent closure.

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

West Virginia Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller, one of the towering architects of Obamacare, on Tuesday openly criticized program managers for not moving quickly enough to build the system, warning that if it gets off to a bumpy start it will just get worse. Decrying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as way too complex, he warned the acting Medicare director that Obamacare is "so complicated and if it isn´t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse."

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Liberals descended on Pennsylvania Avenue Tuesday to protest President Barack Obama´s decision to include entitlement cuts in his upcoming budget, delivering 2 million petitions demanding the White House back off its support for the chained CPI. As we reported this weekend, liberals have been seething over the inclusion of the chained CPI in Obama´s budget, which they see as a huge betrayal by the Democratic president. This week, progressive groups, including MoveOn, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and Democracy for America, have mounted "emergency" online campaigns against the proposal, accusing Obama of

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion. "The politics has been relentless and that continues," Sebelius said. "There was some hope that once the Supreme Court ruled in July, and then once an election occurred there would be a sense that, ´This is the law of the land, let´s get on board, let´s make this work.´"

Ferguson said he sent a March 28 letter to owner Barronelle Stutzman asking her to reconsider and supply flowers to customer Robert Ingersoll. Through an attorney, Stutzman declined to change her position.“As Attorney General, it is my job to enforce the laws of the state of Washington,” said Ferguson. “Under the Consumer Protection Act, it is unlawful to discriminate

In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources.
