Dems nervous, GOP upbeat as vote nears
San Francisco Chronicle, by Joe Garofoli

Original Article

Posted By:Poliskeptic, 10/30/2012 11:34:15 AM

There's no shortage of their kind in the politically bluest parts of California. Liberals so freaked out about the prospect of President Obama losing his re-election bid that they can't sleep at night. Can't talk about anything else. Can't stop parsing the latest polls. David Plouffe, one of President Obama's top campaign strategists, has a word for supporters he feels are needlessly fretful: bed wetters. "Oh, I think I'm worse than that," Kay Edelman said. For the past several weeks, the 60-year-old San Francisco resident has frequently bolted awake in the middle of the night, in "a panic attack," she said.

Don't worry Kay, you still have your liberal nirvana in San Fran.

Where all the public employee unions are fighting over smaller pie in hopes of gaining their "fair share".

No offense Kay, but I do hope your worst nightmare comes true November 6. May I suggest a 4 year prescription of high strength sleep inducing drugs, with the option to get a 4 year refill? Take my advice...after all, this is what I've been dealing with for the last 4 years! I'm looking forward to sleeping like a baby again!

the liberals of PPK are just stuck on stupid, with their state bankrupt, schools a total mess, their oil and gas industry in shambles, public service unions demanding more from tax payers and the health care system falling apart and going belly up from all the illegals using and not paying, they continue to vote for democRATs.
PPK = (Peepulls Republik of Kalifornia)

These are the same folks who have destroyed California. Michael Savage is right when he says liberalisn is a mental disease. They are going to live a liberal nightmare for 8 years after 6 November. Kind of like the nightmare that America has been in since 2008.

From Victor Davis Hansen on today's Lucianne postings:

"Did California’s redistributive elite really believe that they could all but shut down new gas and oil production, strangle the timber industry, idle irrigated farmland, divert water to the delta smelt, have 37 million people use a highway system designed for 15 million, allow millions of illegal aliens to enter the state without audit, extend free medical programs to 8 million of the most recent 11 million added to the population, up taxes to among the highest in the nation, and host one-third of the nation’s welfare recipients — and not have the present chaos?

The California schools — flooded with students whose first language is not English, staffed by unionized teachers not subject to the consequences of subpar teaching, and plagued with politicized curricula that do not emphasize math, science, and reading and writing comprehension — scarcely rate above those in Mississippi and Alabama. Did liberals, who wanted unions, a new curriculum, and open borders, believe it was good for the state to have a future generation — that will build our power plants, fly our airliners, teach our children, and take out our tumors — that is at the near-bottom in national test scores?

Did liberals (and their hand-in-glove employer supporters who wished for cheap labor) think that letting in millions from Central Mexico, most without legality, English, or a high school education (and in some sense at the expense of thousands waiting in line for legal admission with capital, advanced degrees, and technological expertise), was not problematic and that soaring costs in law enforcement, the criminal justice system, the schools, and the health care industries were irrelevant?

What, then, are the motivations that drive so many to such absurdities?"

In fact ...... two days into the Obama regime, I finally understood Bush Derangement Syndrom. Which only got worse as I came to understand that there is nothing preventing the Reader-in-chief from doing whatever he wants.

Now the lefties know how we've felt over the past 5 years. Night sweats, anxiety, shortness of breath, relentless fear.

The difference is that we conservatives have had very good reasons to be afraid (the economy, the Middle East, an ascendant China, to name just a few). The lefties are just a bunch of pampered wusses, worried about free cell phones, contraceptives, global warming, social justice, and other super-important issues of our time.

We've noted the Barack Obama's "intellectual stammer" before, but just how much did it slow him down last night? Well, despite talking four minutes less than Obama, Mitt Romney was able to speak 541 more words. Michael Brendan Dougherty tweeted the statistic, and we went to this CNN transcript to check it out. Obama's word count was 7,350 words during the course of the debate, while Mitt Romney got out 7,891. (Skip) Barro said that because "Romney seemed to have far more to say than Obama."

Friends and allies of Baroness Thatcher expressed ‘surprise and disappointment’ last night as it emerged President Obama is not planning to send any serving member of his administration to her funeral. Whitehall sources have revealed that the U.S. delegation at tomorrow’s service in St Paul’s Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz. Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

BOSTON -- The bombs that blew up seconds apart at the finish line of one of the world´s most storied races left the streets spattered with blood and glass, three dead, including an 8-year-old boy, more than 140 wounded and gaping questions of who chose to attack at the Boston Marathon and why. Federal investigators said no one had claimed responsibility for the bombings one of the city´s most famous civic holidays, Patriots Day. But the blasts among the throngs of spectators raised fears of a terrorist attack. President Barack Obama was careful not to use the

In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993. Speculating on possible link,” Russert tweeted following the explosions.

President Obama pledged that the United States would punish anyone responsible for the explosions at the Boston Marathon today, but he said that “people shouldn’t jump to conclusions” about the tragedy. “We still do not know who did this or why and people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before they have all the facts,” Obama told reporters during a statement from the White House. “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice,” he added. Two explosions occurred today near the finish line of the Boston Marathon,

MSNBC contributor Joy-Ann Reid told the host of Now, Alex Wagner, that she thought President Barack Obama’s response to the attack on the Boston Marathon on Monday was powerful and comforting in a way that President George W. Bush’s response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, was not. She accused Bush of being unavailable to the American people for the “first couple weeks” after the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Reid told Wagner that the president’s statement actively combatted the intention of the terrorists, which is to make their targets feel “discombobulated.” “Having, sort of

Mark Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), is threatening to back an election challenge against Sen. Jeff Flake if the Arizona Republican votes against legislation to expand background checks. At a Christian Science Monitor breakfast on Tuesday, Kelly said he would back an opponent to Flake if the "right candidate" was available and if the senator failed to support a background check bill, according to reports. Flake, who is not up for reelection until 2018, has been close to Kelly and Giffords. But Kelly said the issue of control trumped their ties.

"I think we’ve got a good chance of seeing it pass if members of Congress are listening to the American people," President Obama said in an interview on NBC´s "Today Show" that aired on Tuesday. "The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown, I think, is unimaginable." Obama was then asked by Savannah Guthrie how he could expect Democrats in red states to vote on this bill when he, as a Senator, didn´t have to himself.
