Republicans poised for
gains in governor’s races

Associated Press, by Mike Baker

Olympia, Wash. - Republicans are in position to extend their recent gains among governors as they compete for seats they haven’t won in a quarter-century. Of the 11 states with gubernatorial elections in November, eight are now led by Democrats, and each of the most competitive races is a GOP pickup opportunity. The numbers suggests that Republicans soon will claim 30 to 33 governorships after holding just 22 a few years ago — an advantage not reflected in the divided Congress or competitive presidential race. “It says that when people are choosing the government closest to the people,

The senate is uppermost on my mind. GOP needs to pick up a minimum of three seats. Otherwise, there is no chance to throw out state run health care.

This may be the result of Mitt's coattails, at least one can hope.

Mitt has enough coattails to pull the Senate Rebublican. We need that to use budget reconciliation to overthrow the regime’s Obambicare mess.

I agree with other posters that the Senate is the biggest issue now.

The only way that Obamacare will get repealed is if Romney beats Obama, the Republicans keep control of the House AND the Republicans take control of the Senate. Any 2 out of 3 and Obamacare is here to stay.

Without Republican majority control of the Senate, Harry Reid will never let any Obamacare repeal reach the Senate floor for a vote.

Wow! 30 - 33 gov's out of 57 states! Awesome!

As to ObamaCare...If we don't get the senate, Romney can break it down into manageable chunks & change it pc by pc.

In the world of politics and press when the press fawns over someone they find a way to either not ask a probing question or they simply ask a non-consequential one. That is what happened on Wednesday when the president was served up a bunch of softball questions that made for one of the dullest press conferences in recent memory. President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
