| Very early on, before this campaign started in earnest, live or die, I publicly cast my lot with Gallup and Rasmussen. As a poll addict going back to 2000, these are the outlets that have always played it straight.(snip)So when an outlet like Gallup tells me Romney is up seven-points, 52-45%, among those who have already voted, that's very big news.

Yeah, and partisan Boob Beckel was saying that in Ohio, early votes were going to Obama, 2 to 1.
I learned a long time ago that you can't believe anything a Democrat says.

Early voting in Georgia is busting at the seams.
On Saturday some lines were over 5 hrs long. Voted today and only had a 30 min wait.
Talked to our local election supervisor. She says the numbers are higher than '08 or '10.
Conversations in the lines are RR2. Of course, this is a 75% Repub county.

If Gallup is reporting numbers that pan out, it's only because they feel like they have to. In 2008, they were not very accurate.
They are also democrats through and through. Do not trust Gallup. If they happen to be right this time, do not trust them in 2014. They are manipulators of the first order and they are manipulating now.
To what end I do not know but you can make book on it, they are manipulating, even if it's only to save their own credibility.
Having said that, this IS the week that many pollsters will begin to tell the truth. Their credibility is on the line and they have now done all they can do to help Zerobama. No need now not to tell the truth because it's too late to move any more voters to Zero through polls that influence instead of inform.
Finally, read Michael Barone's articles this week and throughout the weekend for a clue about the outcome on Tuesday. This guy is the smartest one out there. If you just can't wait until next Wednesday morning to find out, Barone's "clues" will be in his articles and they will be right. Make book on it.

Not sure what to think of this. But, it compares with our experinece ehre. We voted and the lines were the longest we have ever seen- actually we could not even get into one voting place the line was so long. Went a few days later to a second and got there at the opening, thinking we would have no wait and ended up more that thirty back in the line. Few minorities, and lots of smiling faces all talking abut Romney- I did not hear a single word about "Øbama"- except one lady was saying how we have to save the country from Øbama. She got dirty looks from the election officials, but, no problems- everyone in line who heard her were nodding in approval of her comment. So....keeping fingers crossed, prayers going and powder dry.

Gallup was threatened by the Obama campaign for reporting polling results that upset His Majesty. That's probably why they buried the lede. 8 days from now they can point to the data that showed Romney was winning it.

So, the early voting breakdown tracks pretty closely the Romney landslide predicted in the polls. I just heard Ann Coulter on Hannity say to watch Illinois. ILLINOIS!! She claims a lot of pent up anger at the Democrats in Illinois and that Illinois could go Romney. Heh heh heh.

#12 - Illinois!
About two weeks ago I posted here about comments made by my Chicago brother-in-law who was relaying some "undercurrent" of feelings that there was an actual chance for his vote to make a difference (for once in his life) - and that there have been rumblings that Romney could actually win Illinois.
Today, we heard that Romney has cut into California.
Keep plugging away, folks, keep plugging away...

The contest between communism and capitalism has never been so clear. That Romney is a focused Christian is a bonus, in this age of Muslim terror. No Dem, with their elastic morals and anti-Christian beliefs is a realistic choice in these dangerous times.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, the writer Toni Morrison said, “I dare you to tell me a sane reason we went to Iraq.” Her request is not unreasonable. We´ve heard similar arguments a lot over the past few weeks, as we marked the 10th anniversary of the war. There is widespread agreement that the American invasion of Iraq was provoked by a series of lies, neuroses, venalities and delusions.(snip)Iraq, after President George W. Bush failed to accomplish his mission, was a place of violence and chaos, but before the invasion, it was a charnel house.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
