| An Irvine resident is requesting that the city install a sign to memorialize the hundreds of fish killed in a traffic crash in early October as they were being taken to Irvine Ranch Market. (snip)The sign would read, "In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot," to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are "hauled to their deaths every day," according to the letter provided by PETA. The crash occurred Oct. 11 when a truck, carrying 1,600 pounds of live fish

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder, the nation´s chief law enforcement officer, returned to the courthouse where he once served as a judge, this time in the role of prospective juror performing his civic duty. The Justice Department said Holder wasn´t chosen and that he won´t be called back. Had he been selected for the jury Tuesday, the attorney general would have been on a panel hearing an armed robbery case. MSNBC´s programming became almost entirely full of commentary and opinion in 2012, while "factual reporting" saw almost no airtime, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center. The report, which is part of Pew´s annual comprehensive State of the News Media, found that opinion and commentary fill 85 percent of the airtime on MSNBC. An Ohio woman filed a $25,000 lawsuit against her employer, alleging she was fired for voting for President Obama. Patricia Kunkle of Kettering, Ohio, claimed that Dayton-based Q-Mark, Inc., threatened to fire employees of the defense contractor if Obama won re-election, with the president’s supporters to be the first to receive pink slips, the Dayton Daily News reported. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
