Charlotte-area churches take
advantage of Sunday voting

Charlotte Observer, by Tim Funk

Original Article

Posted By:muncsdad, 10/29/2012 6:24:31 AM

Fifteen minutes into Sunday’s service at St. Paul’s Baptist, before the sermon, the blessing of the babies, and the passing of the plate, Pastor Greg Moss issued an invitation to his predominantly black congregation: Those who had not yet voted could caravan with him to an uptown polling place after the final hymn. Then, after counseling the 2,000 or so worshipers to make up their own minds who to vote for, Moss revealed his own candidate of choice by unbuttoning his jacket to reveal the front of his T-shirt: “OMG. Obama’s My Guy.” The reaction: Cheers and a standing ovation.

Comments:
OMG--and I don't mean Obama's My Guy!

If a white church was this overt it would have Eric Holder kicking down the door.

Meanwhile they give their hard earned money to this preacher.

OMG - you can't fix stupid.

Ask them and they will explain how Obama lowered their taxes.
The best one I've heard - Got no job; pay no taxes.

I attend a Baptist church. If my pastor advocated for a candidate who is not just pro-choice but outspokenly supportive of partial birth abortion and against providing medical aid to babies born alive, we would all head for the doors. Then we would watch from the parking lot as the Lord rains fire and brimstone down. This is shameful, not surprising, but shameful.

I am sure the Baptist are so very proud of this "so called" pastor, since Obama stands against most every principal and moral teaching in God's Word. I guess skin color, in this case, trumps the Bible in their minds for now. So Shameful!

I am not surprised at all. Race trumps everything in the black culture.

"Baptists"? -- yeah, right. It seems as though every black person (except the muslims) are "Baptists". That is the very reason they refer to each other as 'Brutha' and 'Sista'.

I recall a time (when I lived in Detroit) that a whole bus load of black preachers was arrested in Windsor, Canada. It seems that a majority of the so-called men of God were carrying illegal firearms...

Black churches are political organs. I think they get a pass because they were meeting places during the civil rights movement.

This is how Alvin Greene got the democrat nomination to run for senator in SC a couple of years ago.

This church's national affiliation should strip them of the "Baptist" label. Failing that, the whole shebang should lose its tax exempt status. That would get their attention.

The CIAA and the CRVA announced Monday that Charlotte would be home to its annual basketball tournament through 2020 and that the CIAA would move its headquarters from Hampton, Va., to the Queen City. The CRVA’s current deal with the CIAA calls for Charlotte to provide the CIAA with $1 million annually along with use of the Convention Center rent-free.
