| These chilling images of a young Jewish girl at Auschwitz are among thousands that have haunted a Nazi photographer all his life. Wilhelm Brasse was forced to take photographs of frightened children and victims of gruesome medical experiments moments from their death at the extermination camp where some 1.5million people, mostly Jewish died in the Holocaust. Mr Brasse, who died this week aged 94, has had relive those horrors from inside Auschwitz but is considered a hero after he risked his life to preserve the harrowing photographs, which later helped convict the very Nazi monsters who commissioned the photographs.

This Polish hero fought against the Nazis until he could no longer; but yet this true patriot and compassionate human being, devised a way to help convict German officers after the war...he hid negatives at Auschwitz.

Horrors beyond horror, evils beyond evil.
Hitler killed millions. Stalin killed millions. Mao killed 45 million [all these are of course estimates]. A certain religious leader is "killing" from the grave through surrogates.
Never give "benefit of the doubt."
Never think "it can't happen here."
Never think any evil "beyond human capacity."
Centuries ago, ancient charts and maps bore the words, "Here be Monsters."

From artifacts and knowing his service history, my father's outfit liberated many concentration camps throughout Europe. It affected him deeply for his remaining 50 years, though he could never speak of it.

Just finished watching, the 80's miniseries, "Winds of War", it is all about how Hitler came to power and the resulting holocost. It is beyond human understanding the evil that these people did. I could not watch some of the snippets of the jews been killed. Yes, there is evil in the world, but I believe there is goodness and love for fellow man also. There is hope that the right will win.

When I was a young kid, one of my friends was the son of a former WW-II Army Medic & unit photographer. In the attic of their home we stumbled upon a shoe box filled with old photographs from the war in Germany. In it were pictures of soldiers with shrapnel/bullet wounds in the head (obviously dead), and other horrible injuries, all in clinical B&W. His unit was also the one which liberated the Death Camp at Buchenwald. Among those pictures were the victims of National Socialist Party (Nazi) atrocities. It was not a pleasant sight. Stacks of corpses, starved to death, and worse. Also pictures of the nearly dead, literally racks of bones, who had that distant stare in their eyes. Pictures inside the incinerators used for burning the diseased bodies of the dead filled with charred bones. Very chilling.
Today, when I hear holocaust deniers, like the Muslims, I can't help but wonder how my friend's dad could have beens so clever, as a member of this "conspiracy," to hide his "faked" photographs in the attic of his house for a couple of young kids to find... Quite a conspiracy. /s
