Obama needs to come clean on Benghazi

| The Benghazi debacle has three parts: how we neglected security while al-Qaeda was building a presence in Libya; whether the administration tried to mislead the public as to the nature of the attack; and now whether the administration denied pleas for help from operatives on the ground at the consulate. Now, presumably at the behest of Gen. David Petraeus — who has been remarkably tight-lipped and not defended his agency against White House accusations that senior officials’ misstatements were the fault of the CIA — the CIA threw the hot potato right back in the politicians’ laps.
|
Comments: The Obama Betrayal in Benghazi is starting to break through the mainstream media wall of silence. And, through too, the twisting spin and serial lies and CYA that the Obama administration has wrapped this in. Our heroes on the ground in Benghazi fought and died while the craven leadership denied them help that was circling overhead. For Obama this was just politics.

Benghazi will be buried by Sandy. The administration only has to hold out until tomorrow at which point the news cycle will shift to all "Frankenstorm" all day.

Romney is damned if he speaks out and damned if he doesn't. Somehow the MSM would love to blame Bush and Romney for the abject failure of this WH to protect and save American lives. We have to fire the lot of them on Nov.6.

You won't get Benghazi coverage anywhere on tv other than FNC. However, the story is all over the internet. I've even seen postings on FB from people who have been UNinterested in politics! Leftys have their fingers in their ears screaming lalalalala can't hear you but my take is the rest of the country is trying to find answers & they've taken to their computers to try and find them. The fact that the lamestream media isn't covering this story, other than to pop their head up once in a while to cover for barry, is NOT doing them any favors. People want to know what happened so are turning away from tv & to websites, mostly conservative, because they're the only ones trying to dig for the truth.

Jeez.. check out the moonbat responses on that WaPo article. The left wing moonbats are out in full force and in full spin control over this. WHAT would it take for these people to realize that Obama is NOT a good guy and looks terrible in this entire Benghazi situation.
Some brave guys died needlessly as a result of this President's dithering and playing politics.
God help us if he gets re-elected..

Obama already had his 'I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky' moment. He has denied, denied, denied. .... Surely, Jennifer, you don't really expect him to admit that he flew off to Las Vegas for some fun, knowing about the murders and mayhem in Benghazi.

It is amazing that Rubin is essentially calling Romney a coward for not involving himself in this issue. Any word from Mitt Romney would be used by the Obama Administration and the "mainstream media" to politicize the issue more than is necessary for it to be under the circumstances, imo. I, for one, do not want to see the running back and forth to get the usual he said/they said/he said reporting between the two political campaigns. The serious implications of this matter deserve more and better than the usual partisan political reporting. The families of these dead heroes have specifically asked that the matter not be politicized.
Members of the fourth estate, who are supposed to be the watchdogs of liberty, need to find out what happened from the people who know what happened and report it. Fox is, and has been, almost singlehandedly fulfilling that duty. Why not call out the fellow members of the fourth estate in the so-called mainstream media to do their duty? The media doesn't need a comment from Mitt Romney to do that job.

It's time to print out stories from the New Media, and stand outside the NYT and WaPo, hawking papers with the real news to people as they walk by. It built the news industry, and while it is not as quick or effective as Twitter and Facebook, it is a slap in the face of those who call themselves journalists at the NYT. Shame on all of them.
If they MSM refuses to do their jobs, we must do it for them.

WASHINGTON - The White House on Saturday flatly denied that President Barack Obama withheld requests for help from the besieged American compound in Benghazi, Libya, as it came under on attack by suspected terrorists on September 11th. "Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied any requests for assistance in Benghazi," National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor told Yahoo News by email. Mitt Romney has opened up a clear lead over Barack Obama in their presidential race. That owes a great deal to the candidates’ debate performances, of course. But something else is going on, too. In recent days, Obama’s approval rating has taken a perceptible hit. Via the Weekly Standard, we see that in the Rasmussen survey, only 47% approve of Obama’s job performance, while 52% disapprove. There are two plausible explanations for Obama’s current slide: voters may be disgusted by the mean, petty campaigning he is running, or they may disapprove of his handling of the Benghazi crisis. Or both.

Reports indicate two drones and an AC-130 gunship were in the area when Benghazi was attacked, yet their resources were not used. This runs completely against the current explanation coming out of the White House, which is that Obama did everything he could once he learned of the attack. You'll remember that in the second presidential debate, Obama said that as "soon as I was aware the Benghazi consulate was being overrun, I was on the phone with my national security team." The not-so-subtle intimation is that Obama was stepping up to the protect the U.S. personnel who were in Libya.

President Obama ran into a buzzsaw yesterday while doing a round-robin of satellite interviews with local news outlets in crucial swing states -- and by "buzzsaw," I mean that rare form of species known as a "real reporter." Kyle Clark of Colorado's KUSA actually asked Obama about the latest revelations out of Libya. According to Fox News, the three requests for help made during the seven-hour attack on our consulate in Benghazi were met with orders from U.S. officials to "stand down." Wisely, Obama dodged this question entirely. I say "wisely" because,

The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

Washington — Obama administration officials defended their response to the September attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, amid new claims that the White House failed to send help quickly enough as militants overran the mission. The U.S. ambassador and three other Americans died in the hourslong battle. Fox News reported that security officers working for the CIA in Benghazi heard the attack on the consulate but were twice told to wait before rushing to the compound. Fox also reported that U.S. officials refused when the security team asked for U.S. warplanes

Controversial Muslim preacher, feared Turkish intriguer—and “inspirer” of the largest charter school network in America. With the American economy in shambles, Europe imploding, and the Middle East in chaos, convincing Americans that they should pay attention to a Turkish preacher named Fethullah Gülen is an exceedingly hard sell. Many Americans have never heard of him, and if they have, he sounds like the least of their worries.

Decrying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as way too complex, he warned the acting Medicare director that Obamacare is "so complicated and if it isn´t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse."

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion. "The politics has been relentless and that continues," Sebelius said. "There was some hope that once the Supreme Court ruled in July, and then once an election occurred there would be a sense that, ´This is the law of the land, let´s get on board, let´s make this work.´"
