Benghazi: A Reader
Assesses the Evidence

Power Line, by John Hinderaker

Original Article

A reader, relying on publicly available information, has reconstructed what we know and can infer about what happened in Benghazi. I haven’t tried to verify all of his facts nor do I necessarily vouch for his inferences, although in general they seem reasonable. But his analysis is, I think, a valuable contribution to our understanding, and I reproduce it here in slightly edited form: This last week may have finally broken the protective wall around the POTUS. Between the comments of Hillary Clinton, Gen. Petraeus, Defense Secretary Panetta and the FOX News report, the picture of what really transpired

This reminds me of something from 40+/- years ago. As an exercise imagine a Pentagon Papers or a Watergate in the age of Twitter.

More details that you did not find in the mainstream media which is heroically trying to make this ugly Obama debacle disappear.
Key is that someone, probably Obama or Jarrett denied our heroes on the ground the help they needed from the assets that were available flying above. Our soldiers were betrayed and 2 in particular, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty died late in the 7 hours of fighting.
Betrayal is such an ugly word, but it fits.
The next day Obama started lying about the little movie maker in California.

"Pedikaris alive or Risuli Dead" T.Roosevelt in a matter concerning a kidnapped supposed American in Libya. Benghazi was the exact opposite! All involved need to be called b4 congress, place under oath and then required to testify. Then you can send some to prison and impeach the rest. The President is supposed to be defending the constitution and looking out for us. He was too busy taking a nap or campaigning to save those men's lives.

That's a new and startling fact to me.

This should be a must read tomorrow. I just saw Catherine Herridge on FNC. She has done a superb job investigating this story. She now is reporting that ships of weapons are starting to come into the picture.. the plot of cover-up thickens.
either way.. we have a president with blood on his hands. He LIED to the families of those killed and he lied to the American people. We know that now.. we dont need a 2 year investigation.

Must read.
I have one question that this report passes over - it appears that the ambassador went missing early on - the ONLY one to go missing. Exactly when did he go missing and why did none of the other 30+ people go missing? I have thought the 'kidnapping plan' was a total farce and too silly to even discuss. But, dang it, it is starting to look like that is the only thing that actually makes sense. Of course Obama wouldn't want to use a Specter or C-130 gunship on the attackers if he thought the ambassador was in their custody.

Reply 15 - Posted by: janylou, 10/27/2012 10:09:01 PM     (No. 8968367)

I have wondered that too, #14. How was it that Woods et al found Smith's body but not Stevens who was supposedly still alive? This article sheds more light than anything I have heard so far and like all of you, this paragraph sticks out "The Benghazi coverup is much worse than you think. Clearly there were air assets on the scene above the CIA annex and they were denied permission to fire.

Tyrone Woods was painting a target with a ground laser designator (GLD). Those are only used when the air asset is overhead, ready to fire. The jihadis can use cell phones with night-vision capabilities to see the laser beam, which then pinpoints the location of the person using the GLD. As a former Navy SEAL, Woods would’ve known that. He would only have exposed himself if he thought that the mortar squad was about to be taken out. The air asset didn’t fire, and Woods and Glen Doherty were killed by the mortar squad.

There was either a Spectre gunship or an armed Predator or Reaper drone overhead, and it was denied permission to fire. That’s the only explanation that fits. Woods would not have used his GLD for any other reason than to paint a target for an immediate air strike.

Only the commander of AFRICOM and the president have the authority to tell the air asset to not fire in this situation."
Treasonous!

16, Petraeus is telling the truth. He sent the 8 guys he had the authority to send - CIA operatives. He wouldn't have had the authority to stop the C-130 from firing. So it wasn't the CIA that stopped help from getting to our people in Benghazi.

This is what happens when you put a treaonous, incompetent, demonrat community organizer in the presidental office, who then infiltrates even more treasonous, incompetent demonrats into the same treasonous administration.

Put the whole lot of them up on treason charges.

Democratic Party officials believe that Kevin Strouse is exactly the kind of candidate who can help them retake the House next year. He’s a smart, young former Army Ranger — good qualities for any aspiring politician. But what party leaders really like is that Strouse doesn’t have particularly strong views on the country’s hottest issues. Immigration? Tax policy? “Certainly I have a lot of research to do,” Strouse acknowledged in an interview Thursday as he announced his candidacy in a suburban Philadelphia House district. Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Carbon emissions in the US were at their lowest level in 2012 since 1994, according to figures released by the US Energy Information Administration. We did it without carbon trading scams, the EPA making carbon dioxide a poison, or obeying the dictates of the Kyoto climate Treaty. We did it partly because of decreased economic activity as a result of the Obama recovery-that-isn’t, but mostly because of good old fashioned market forces; competition between natural gas and coal: Energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in 2012 were the lowest in the United States since 1994

It is amazing just how wrong economists were in their predictions for the number of jobs that were to be created in March. The “consensus” figure was 200,000 — a far cry from the actual number created which was 88,000. Totally “unexpected,” as usual. In one way, you can’t blame them. After a better than average gain in February of 236,000 (revised upward this month to 268,000), along with some positive numbers in housing and consumer spending, there were no doubt many analysts who began breathing a sigh of relief and believing that the long-awaited jobs recovery was upon us.

This shouldn´t surprise Lowery. When the liberals hang onto the neck of a cause, they don´t let go. They have ignored murders, rapes, wars, nuclear proliferation, and everything wrong with the world to focus in on their little area -- the horror of carbon emissions. President Obama will propose a budget next week that embraces a risky strategy of courting Republicans for a grand bargain on the debt while angering Democratic allies with cuts to the nation’s entitlement programs. White House officials said Friday that Obama’s budget would cut Medicare and Social Security and ask for less tax revenue than he has previously sought. The budget, to be released Wednesday, will fully incorporate the offer Obama made to House Speaker John A.
