Republicans appear to
be winning early vote

Express-News [San Antonio, TX], by Brian Chasnoff

Original Article

Posted By:Lost in Santa Fe, 10/27/2012 5:58:50 PM

Red alert, local Democrats: One week into early voting, Republicans are beating you in turnout. This analysis comes courtesy of fourth-day data from early voting sites across Bexar County, comparing turnout in 2008 to this year's numbers. Democrats, of course, swept elections in 2008, when Barack Obama won the presidency and, incidentally, beat John McCain in Bexar County by more than five percentage points. (Snip) “The voters for the more Republican precincts appear to be more motivated in this election,”

Comments:
Republicans appear to be turning out more heavily than Democrats, even in a state where they could assume Romney would win without their vote. SA is reliably Democrat, but it's all about turnout. This could mean that, as an unnamed prominent (local) Democrat operative says in the article, "Democrats are in deep (expletive)." But only if Republicans continue to turn out.

This is Texas. If Romney was in any fear of losing Texas I would be moving somewhere safer right now, like Mexico, the Bahamas or Pago Pago.

I live in the DFW area and each time, including today, that I drove by our early voting area...traffic jam trying to get in and out. In the past we have gone to vote early and maybe had 2 people ahead of us...not this year. Do believe the Republicans are really up for this.

The fear is not about statewide results but about the end result in a normally Democratic Bexar County.

The only bumper sticker I've seen are 2 Obama 2012. And both of them work at a public elementary school. I've seen mostly Romney/Ryan bumper sticker as well as Don't Tread On Me. Oh, and Romney yard signs too. No Obama signs yet.

Any sign of UN do-gooders wearing handcuffs, yet?

Here in Deep East Tejas, the UN people are still too busy raping and pillaging the natives to have found time to tend to the paperwork part of the project.

The quality of Democracy remains, so far, unimpaired.

I was surprised that Zero was running so many TV ads in Texas. I've seen more Zero 08 than 12 stickers, and I would like to ask them if they didn't update because they can't afford the new ones due to Zero policies.

I was in Vegas the last few days, and their airwaves are saturated with ads. I pity the folks in the swing states having to be bombarded with Zero's endless lying. It's a sad state of affairs in America that liars like Zero and Elizabeth Warren have chances of actually winning.

NW suburb near DFW airport here with live reporting:
- Early polling was packed with Romney supporters who voted really quick (i.e.straight ticket).
- Reports are that Øtard supporters can be found on their backs in the back seats of their cars, pants at their ankles with a half-drank 40-ouncer spilled on the floorboard, wondering "where's mine?"
- I've seen 2 Øtard bumper stickers - on pollution belching clunkers (1 driven by a shocking purple-headed female), in the last 2 months.
- I've seen 1 Øtard house sign - on the worst maintained house in a neighborhood.

OK - only 3 of the 4 reports were actually observed.

#7 Same here in OK, I have no idea why the Taupe Dope is running ads here. We hated him in 08, we don't suddenly love him now.

Two more straight ticket Republicans were at the Brookhollow library this afternoon. It felt so-o-o-o-o-o good to vote for Gov Romney and Congressman Ryan! God bless Texas.

West Texas had comparable action. Voted Thursday and there was a lot of activity. Polling workers said they had been busy all week. Got in that vote for Cruz.

Debate Audience Selected by Firm

Think the deck for Tuesday's town hall debate might have been stacked? The firm hired to select the audience asking questions is under pressure from the Obama Justice Department, and some observers suggest may have already succumbed to that bullying. After the Gallup Organization refused to cave to Chicago-style pressure from the Obama gang -- which according to internal memos published by the Daily Caller had company officials comparing it to a "Godfather situation" -- the Obama Justice Department suddenly joined a three-year-old lawsuit against Gallup. Within weeks,

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
