Ann Coulter to Piers Morgan: You're 'a sexist, misogynist pig'

| Earlier this week, conservative commentator Ann Coulter offered her explanation for using the word “retard” to describe President Barack Obama. And on Friday night’s broadcast of CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” in an appearance to promote her book “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama,” Coulter was pushed to reiterate that defense by host Piers Morgan. But Morgan segued into a commercial break by suggesting Coulter “calm down” after she began her response. MORGAN: Let’s take another break. Let you calm down a bit. COULTER: Oh, yes. I think you could move on to a better subject.

Telling a woman to "calm down" is a very dangerous thing to do. Even on TV.

If any Conservative TV personality had told a Liberal female guest to "calm down" it would have been all over the news as proof of how Conservatives patronize women and are sexist to the core. With Morgan it's not an issue either because he's a Lib or because no one watches him, not even Liberals. As to Ann: you go, girl.

He should be grateful to Ann for the ratings.

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough voiced his agreement with Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, who on Sunday’s “Face the Nation” on CBS questioned those Republicans who are threatening a filibuster on pending gun control legislation. Scarborough said such a filibuster would be an example of the GOP putting “rapists’ rights ahead over parents’ rights.” “[I] tell you what, Richard Haass, I saw John McCain there,” Scarborough said. “And I’m hopeful. Because, you know, there are a lot of guys out there in the Senate and they are going out because it’s a free shot.

As the Gang of Eight negotiates and prepares to roll out a comprehensive immigration reform bill, members of the “gang” have not publicly addressed concerns that remain about policies surrounding law already on the books — specifically one relating to immigrant dependence on welfare. Section 212(a)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act prohibits individuals likely to become primarily reliant on the government for survival: “An alien who, in the opinion of the consular officer at the time of application for a visa, or in the opinion of the Attorney General at the time of application for

On this weekend’s broadcast of “Inside Washington,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said the two gay marriage cases currently before the Supreme Court could lead to an all-out assault on religion in the United States. “It gets really sticky,” Krauthammer said. “If the court were to decide that to deny same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, then you got Georgetown University – a Jesuit university [that offers] married student housing. It’s a Catholic University. So [when] it says it’s only going to allow heterosexuals, it will get sued. This will become an assault on religion.

In Alabama, no state legislator, Republican or Democrat, would ever question gun rights, given the state’s conservative leanings and rural setting. But Democratic Alabama State Rep. Joseph Mitchell of Mobile, Ala. has a curious take on why his constituents in his majority African-American district should appreciate their Second Amendment rights. In emails sent from Mitchell’s official state legislature account obtained by the blog Yellow Hammer Politics and published Wednesday morning, Mitchell had a heated exchange with a constituent identified as Eddie Maxwell and provided his own defense of the Second Amendment.

In an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “America Live” on Thursday, Kentucky Republican Sen. Paul told host Bill Hemmer that Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are wrong to criticize him for working to provide legal status to illegal immigrants. Paul, fresh off his win in the Conservative Political Action Conference presidential straw poll, specifically disagreed with the suggestion he is being “suckered” into an agreement with Democrats. “I’ve got a news flash for those who want to call people names on amnesty: What we have now is de facto amnesty,” Paul replied. “We have 11 million people here

Dianne Feinstein’s gun control proposals. “I don’t mean to go on and on here, but I am so shocked that he would continue to use his seat in the judiciary committee to just mislead millions of Americans and put forward a willfully ignorant position on what the Constitution says and what it does not say,” Scarborough said.

On his Tuesday radio show, conservative talk show host Mark Levin said House majority whip Kevin McCarthy, who this weekend claimed Congress could soon pass a comprehensive immigration bill, has a political death wish. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m convinced the Republican leadership — particularly in the House — has a Republican death wish,” Levin said. “When you put these Mickey Mouse types in charge of the Republican Party in the House, what do you get, Mr. Producer? You get mice turds. And that’s what we have here: mice turds from the likes of [Rep.] Kevin McCarthy.” McCarthy had told CNN

On Laura Ingraham’s radio show on Friday, Washington Post columnist George Will took a few digs at the Obama White House for the way it has handled the so-called sequestration crisis. According to Will, the process has shown the public just where President Barack Obama and other liberals are on government and how any reduction is “intolerable.” “I think the sequester argument is extremely useful because it’s very educational for the American public,” Will said. “When the Obama administration increases on average 17 percent the budgets of the domestic agencies that are now facing a 5 percent cut

On her Thursday program, conservative talker Laura Ingraham struck back at MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough and others who want to blame talk radio for 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s presidential election loss, suggesting that Scarborough’s anger may be linked to his radio show getting cancelled in 2010. “You got to have leaders that will turn out against the crazies in your own party,” Scarborough said Thursday morning, “and if you do — you start winning those middle, those swing voters.” Scarborough, along with others on his program Thursday, attacked certain elements in the conservative movement, including talk radio

On Monday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer predicted that tomorrow night’s State of the Union address will be the political counterpart to President Barack Obama’s fundamentally “ideological” inaugural speech. “Well, I’m not sure it will be a speech about ideas or programs,” Krauthammer said. “In fact, if the inaugural address was this sort of extraordinarily ideological address, I think the State of the Union is going to be extremely aggressive and partisan. Obama is still campaigning. He hasn’t stopped.

On his Monday program, syndicated conservative talker Mark Levin was irate at the news that former Bush administration deputy chief of staff Karl Rove is launching a political action committee to help electable Republicans win primaries. “I just love the way these crony capitalist Republicans — these big government Republicans, these establishment Republicans — I love the way they invoke William Buckley,” Levin said. “They invoke Ronald Reagan. Sometimes they like Obama; they invoke the Founding Fathers. And to what ends? To trash us? See, we can’t win, but the problem is we do win. Yeah, we have our losses

Over the weekend, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer spoke at the National Review Institute Summit in Washington, D.C. During a question-and-answer session, he was asked if he thought President Barack Obama would attempt to hand-pick his successor in order to help guide the country down a path to “socialism.” Krauthammer began his response by advising against using that term. “I would just caution you about using the word, ‘socialism,’” Krauthammer said. “The reason is it is too broad a term. It encompasses all kinds of socialism, including the nasty totalitarian examples — the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic, Cuba, Korea.”

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Of course, to describe newborn children in their boundless possibilities and wonder would be to acknowledge, foremost, their humanity. That is why, instead, abortion enthusiasts must grope for words

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, said on Tuesday that the healthcare law, set to go into full effect in less than eight months, is “probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress” and “is just beyond comprehension.” Rockefeller said he is concerned that early missteps with implementing the healthcare overhaul may cascade into confusion and chaos. The law, said Rockefeller, is “so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.” Rockefeller’s consternation echoes comments made earlier this

They say they were just doing what the boss trained them to do. But eight former employees of a run-down West Philadelphia abortion clinic now face prison time for the work they did for Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Three have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. And Gosnell, 72, is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies allegedly born alive. In testimony at the capital murder trial this past month, an unlicensed doctor and untrained aides described long, chaotic days at the clinic. They said they performed grueling, often gruesome work for little more than minimum wage,

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

TALLAHASSEE - Picture this: You´re in the left lane of the interstate, driving a little below the speed limit, when some guy zips up behind you and swerves past you on the right. Then you notice the blue lights flashing. You´re savoring the satisfaction of seeing a trooper actually nab an aggressive driver — until you realize it´s you he´s pulling over. This could happen, if not very often, under a major transportation package expected to be taken up in the Senate Appropriations Committee next week. Introduced by Sen. Jeff Brandes, a St. Petersburg Republican, the bill is a 173-page

On Thursday, in the midst of ongoing national debate over prospective gun control and comprehensive immigration legislation, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said that he didn’t need the approval of a majority of his own party to move forward with legislation. Referring to the so-called Hastert Rule, named after former House Speaker Denny Hastert (R-IL), which dictated that House leadership not bring up any bill for a vote without the support of a majority of the majority party, Boehner said, “Listen: It was never a rule to begin with.” Then, realizing the gravity of admitting

A few hours after Margaret Thatcher´s death on Monday, the snarling deadbeats of the British underclass were gleefully rampaging through the streets of Brixton in South London, scaling the marquee of the local fleapit and hanging a banner announcing, "THE B@&$! Hi. As you’ve probably noticed, I’m not the President. I’m just a citizen. And as a citizen, I’m here at the White House today because I want to make a difference and I hope you will join me. My name is Francine Wheeler. My husband David is with me. We live in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. David and I have two sons. Our older son Nate, soon to be 10 years old, is a fourth grader at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our younger son, Ben, age six, was murdered in his first-grade classroom on December 14th.
