| Despite real-time video, emails to the White House and desperate cries for help, our defense secretary says we didn't send rescue forces to our Benghazi consulate because we didn't know what was going on. In a statement bordering on the Kafkaesque, Leon Panetta told a news conference Thursday that four Americans, including our Libyan ambassador Chris Stevens, were left to die without a rescue attempt by nearby U.S. military forces because there's "a basic principle here, and the basic principle is that you don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on,

Comments: If Sandra Fluke Or Lilly Ledbetter had been at our Benghazi consulate, Obama and Panetta would have sent in the 82nd Airborne to rescue them.

Soooo right #3, and it dovetails with OPs comment...remember this incident of a Cessna 180 innocently breaching Zero's airspace over Seattle in early 2010? TWO F-15s launcched and immediatly went supersonic and covered the 150 miles from the Portland area to Seattle in minutes, thoroughly shaking downtown Seattle early afternoon...F16s Sigonella, Italy would have covered the 400 miles to Benghazi in no time and the WartHogs cuda been there in 2hours...

That's just a bald faced lie. They were getting real time intel from the scene from the CIA annex, the consulate, and a drone circling over head. Our guy on the annex roof was painting the mortar location with a laser so an aircraft could hit it with guided missiles. An aircraft that never came. Panetta, Obama, or both, made the decision to watch and do nothing. The scope of their betrayal is breathtaking.
America will send a million to rescue 4. And 4 brave Americans will volunteer to rescue a million. You cannot order a hero to be a coward. He will refuse the order.

Not one product on one single alphabet station (abccbsnbccnnpbsmsnbc) should be bought by anyone. It is beyond time to send a message to the old media that we are NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS CORRUPTION at worst, bias at the least anymore.
IT IS THE JOB OF THE MEDIA TO HOLD PUBLIC OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE...to dig for the truth. WHERE ARE THEY?? Their behavior is shameless.
One good thing: the old media are being exposed as USELESS for democracy.

Really stupid thing to say. You have real time intel, what you don't have is certainty. You're not sure what the enemies strength is, what weaponry they possess or an accurate count of their numbers. You never do in a hot, combat environment. 100% accurate intel should never be the deciding factor. The deciding factor is do you leave your brothers to die or do you attempt to save them. We don't abandon our brothers on the battlefield. Obama turned his back on our brothers and went to bed.

Our Benghazi Consulate was being attacked and that's the key here. It doesn't matter who the attackers are/were or why they were attacking. Help was requested many times by the Benghazi Consulate's defenders and none ever came.
I wonder if Obama, Biden, Hillary and the rest of the real time watchers of the attack had popcorn and sodas brought in while they all oohed and awed as the mortars blew up and killed our Seals????

From what I have read there were PLENTY EYES on the scene, a very comprehensive SITREP from them being communicated to CIA, military, and the WH, drones at the scene giving REAL-TIME vid feeds, CIA guy on the roof LASER PAINTING the mortars for whomever that would show up... what the HELL? Our country couldn't send a few missiles or drones in there within 7 HOURS? Troops were less than 90-120 minutes away.
Even AT THE TIME, someone should have done SOMETHING! Hell, TWO UNARMED ex-SEALs showed up, grabbed guns discarded by the alleged Libyan "guards", and KILLED SIXTY attackers and rescued 30 employees!! It took that mortar fire to take THEM out (the one that the CIA was laser-painting).
Panetta - YOU need to be charged with TREASON as well. You are a disgrace to America.

Maybe the empty chair needs to explain to his defense secretary about how we don't need a large navy or armed forces because they are so much better equipped, powerful, etc.
Did Panetta seriously think the Afghan terrorists had a nuclear bomb or some other such overwhelming threat that he needed to hesitate to send our far superior forces and weapons? Absolutely NONE of the administrations's representatives have said one thing that hasn't made them fall into the category of being either a jackass or a liar, or both.

34, my misfortune runs deeper than yours, it starts with FDR.
The assessment of my list of modern day Presidents includes; LBJ, biggest liar, JEC, most inept, and WJC, most immoral.
JFK and LBJ were contenders for the immoral award but failed to outdo clintoon.
And then, along came BHO who eclipsed all previous categories and established a new one; most treasonous.
He Won the Bozo Statue at the Infamy Awards in all categories his first term.
Harry Truman was the only good Democrat President in almost 100 years - he stood tall and respected the office when leadership was sorely needed.

You have part of that right, thinks like you... maybe but clearly does he care a bit about those people in the battle for their lives and watched as they lost, when he had to power to help? If that =caring, then I don't buy it. But, if another teen like Trayvon pops up, ( but not in Chicago or Detroit- we don't care about you) then we bring out the race hustlers, Sharpton and Jackson and make a federal case of it.

The key decision makers in the WH, Pentagon, CIA, State and AFRICOM knew within minutes what was going on, in real time. To do nothing to help those men in Benghazi is just criminal negligence. And cowardly to boot. People, starting with Obama, need to go to jail over this.

Maybe I didn't learn about it in my History classes as I grew up, but did we have "real time intel" during the attack of Pearl Harbor? Did FDR have to launch an investigation of who did what and why? And promise to bring the perps. to "justice"? And did our military have to make sure that no "innocent bystanders" are harmed.
The shear stupidity of Panetta's remarks are beyond belief. Any one of us who have spent even one term in the military knows how stupid it is. When we are attacked, we fight back as soon and as hard as we can. With every thing we have available. None on that happened here and 4 Americans died needlessly. I, like all others here, am sick to my stomach over it.

There are 3 lines of comminication from the Ambassador to the WH. One is a hot line. The message that would be sent on the hot line was "Ambassador in Peril". THAT message had to be confirmed as received. Then that message MUST be given directly to the President face to face. Mark Levin checked Obama's schedule on 9/11 and he returned to the WH at 4:50, and at 5 0 was in a private meeting with the VP and DOD. He knew then. No doubt in my mind.

And even now, information is creeping out that an AC-130 may have on station awaiting an order to release weapons. It never came. While our SEALS painted the mortar location with a laser, that's not something they would do unless there was an AC-130 or possibly an armed drone ready to put ordnance on target.
All those lies have a bad habit of eventually biting the liars in the butt.

Now here's a definite impeachable offense, lying to Congress and falsifying information in reporting. Phone calls, e-mails and a drone overhead and Panetta is automatically lying. He should be summoned to Congress, have this evidence thrown in his face and told he must resign that day or be impeached the next. Grow some, Republicans. Make the Democrats try to defend the indefensible. Imagine the testimony from the families of those killed and how it would completely demolish the 0bama regime and any Democrat who tries to defend this.

National Security: The administration moves an advanced missile defense system to Guam because it knows a single low-yield nuke detonated at high altitude could send America back in time a hundred years. The announcement Wednesday by the Defense Department that it would soon deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System (THAAD), a missile defense system inherited from the Bush administration, to Guam underscores the seriousness of the threat from North Korea, whose actions, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel rightly said, "present a real and clear danger." We recently noted that the Obama administration´s shameful designation of the Nov. 5, 2009, rampage at the Army base in Killeen, Texas, by Major Nidal Hasan as "workplace violence" had denied survivors benefits they would have been entitled to had the attack been properly labeled an act of terror. For example, Staff Sgt. Shawn Manning was shot six times

Diplomacy: After a reprieve from international regulation of our guns, another sovereignty-grabbing U.N. treaty, a pet project of our secretary of state, is still being pushed to declare the oceans the common heritage of mankind. In the pre-dawn hours last Saturday, the U.S. Senate approved by 53-46 a measure "to uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty." But a seemingly harmless cousin, the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), remains on the table, with its champion

Marriage Decline: The disintegration of the nuclear family — particularly in the African-American community — and the rise in fatherless homes have greater societal implications than gay marriage, yet few pay attention. The debate over gay marriage has taken center stage with two cases, one involving California´s Proposition 8 which bans it, and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which bars federal agencies recognizing the validity of same-sex marriages in the states where they are legal, now before the U.S. Supreme Court. We have argued that the civil purpose of marriage is not

Bad Data: As yet another Solyndra looms, a new government report shows that by the government´s own broad definition of a green job, more can be found in a coal mine than near a solar panel. The second annual Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report on "Employment in Green Goods and Services," released Tuesday, will be the last, allegedly a casualty of the same sequestration that claimed the White House tours and may doom the Easter egg hunt on the White House lawn. That is probably a good thing,

Missile Defense: The administration beefs up our Alaskan-based interceptors it once downgraded in response to North Korea´s threat, while ending the final phase of the Europe-based defense against Iran it once supported. We welcome the Obama administration´s decision to place an additional 14 ground-based interceptors (GBI) at Fort Greely, Alaska, and Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., by 2017, as well as a second TPY-2 phased-array X-band long-range missile defense radar system in Japan following North Korea´s deployment of a new road-mobile missile. We are reminded that if President Obama

Religion: The change that swept Eastern Europe in the 1980s and fueled the collapse of the Soviet Union may find itself repeated by a new pope with similar disdain for the authoritarian governments of his region. When Cardinal Karol Wojtyla stepped out on the balcony of St. Peter´s in 1978 as Pope John Paul II, Soviet communism still stood astride Eastern Europe and his native Poland. He would be the moral force helping to lead half a continent out of the human bondage of totalitarianism. Argentina´s 76-year-old Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, now Pope Francis I

Nuclear Power: Buoyed by data showing that outside the immediate area, radiation dangers remain small, Japan´s pro-nuclear prime minister seeks to restart other shut-down reactors to restart a stagnant economy. It has been two years since the March 11, 2011, Honshu quake and tsunami that killed nearly 19,000 people, smashed Tokyo Electric Power Co.´s Fukushima plant, and put the brakes on the worldwide commercial use of nuclear power. Days after the quake — which registered at 9.0 on the Richter scale and was equal to about 336 million tons of TNT

Budget: Over a hundred jobs are at Homeland Security, which is letting criminal aliens go despite billions unspent from last fiscal year, with hundreds more jobs available at an Interior Department that warns of park closings. ´We´re doing our very best to minimize the impacts of sequester. But there´s only so much I can do," DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said. With regard to the release of illegal aliens from detention in anticipation of cuts due to sequestration, "I´m supposed to have 34,000 detention beds for immigration. How do I pay for those?" Well, Madam Secretary, like other federal departments

Missile Defense: As Pyongyang threatens a nuclear strike, the administration says our missile defenses can handle anything they can throw against us or our allies. If so it´s not because of anything the president did. ´I can tell you that the United States is fully capable of defending against any North Korean ballistic missile attack," White House spokesman Jay Carney said on Thursday after North Korea´s raging runt, Kim Jong-un, said Pyongyang was scrapping the 1953 armistice deal that ended the Korean War. He threatened a "preemptive" nuclear strike against the U.S.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Developing a formidable partnership with President Ronald Reagan during the 1980s, Mrs. Thatcher stood up to the ´Evil Empire´ of the Soviet Union, eventually witnessing its collapse. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
