A Brief History of Obama
The Washington Free Beacon, by Matthew Continetti

Original Article

Posted By:PChristopher, 10/26/2012 7:22:03 AM

When historians look back at the presidency of Barack Obama, they will not begin with his campaign announcement in May 2007. They will not start with his election to the Senate in 2004 or with his celebrated speech to the Democratic National Convention that year. Instead, these historians will identify the beginning of the Obama phenomenon in the antiwar speech he delivered in Chicago, on Oct. 2, 2002. To understand Obama’s political career, these historians will say, you must first understand the visceral opposition of the Democratic base to the decisions made by President George W. Bush.

How would you start to write a brief history when all you have to work with is hear say ? He is pretty much un-documented.

Good analysis of the phenom, very succinct. Sometimes we don't see the forest for the trees, and need a higher altitude view.

I think history will not be kind to Obama's administration, and irrespective of all of the teeth gnashing of the Left, will record Bush's administration far better.

The lefts visceral hatred was ramped up by the Plame affair...a seditious chapter brought to us by Colin Powell as he tried to force Cheney out ...only getting Lubby with their bougy and paid for prosecutor Fitzgerald ...who managed a Senator by the same name out of office through unsavory means...where the unknown Obama ended up with that Senate seat...This was nothing more than a massively corrupt scheme by Communists and Black Liberatioists to gain power...The damage and
theft of Americas treasuse has yet to be accounted for... Obama is Manchurian and when the entire story regarding Frank Marshall Davis comes out...We the people will understand the Communist incursion ...And the press will be deemed beyond imcompetant...evil is more fitting.

This is a must read, particularly for younger readers. It plots the historical Progressive touchpoints that lead from Al Gore losing the '00 election through the decline of America and Obama's imminent loss in the '12 election. This should be be the stuff of my child's history textbooks. Not the victim based analysis they are spoonfed daily. This is the story of the ascendancy of the Progressive movement and how it fails when it achieves power because it cannot co-exist with reality. It can only function as an opposition movement untested by the real world.

This is a very good analysis. But I would add one point. The typical hard-core liberal Democrat believes that he or she represents the views of the majority of the country. That is why they feel free to spout off their views without considering whether the person or people they are speaking to agrees with them. They saw their views as validated when Obama won in 2008. I think Obama still thinks this way. He doesn't want to deal with the nitty-gritty of political polling and strategizing that might tell him otherwise. He is in a bubble, surrounded by like-minded liberals, left-wing bloggers and audiences carefully picked to applaud his disdain for anyone who doesn't hold they left-wing views. That is why he didn't prepare for the first debate and why he thought he could win the second and third by throwing Letterman-type zingers at Romney. I think he is going to have a rude awakening on November 6, and that supporters are going to go beserk.

There is no need to document well known and public facts. Hussein is at best a community organizer and nothing more. In Hussein's case Harvard Law counts for nothing. Jimmy Carter can only dream about being as bad a president as Hussein.

Any story including the 2000 election is incomplete without a chapter about the democrat voter fraud attempts in FLA.

Boxes of conservative district ballots found dumped, the voting machine found in a democrat operative's car trunk, 'hanging chad' ballots being the result of trying to fraudulently vote with multiple ballots stuffed into the machine to speed up the process. Then there was Al Gore's temper tantrum when his party's efforts to steal the election for him failed.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has twice turned over the entire list of Missouri concealed weapon permit holders to federal authorities, most recently in January, Sen. Kurt Schaefer said Wednesday. Questioning in the Senate Appropriations Committee revealed that on two occasions, in November 2011 and again in January, the patrol asked for and received the full list from the state Division of Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing. Schaefer later met in his office with Col. Ron Replogle, superintendent of the patrol.

A Connecticut gun-maker announced on Wednesday it intends to leave the state, just six days after passage of restrictive gun control legislation, while two other manufacturers said they are considering relocation offers from other states. Manufacturers also plan to lobby the state´s congressional delegation next week "to make sure they hear from our side," said Mark Malkowski, president of Stag Arms in New Britain. Bristol-based PTR said in a statement posted on its website that it has not decided where it will move, but has commitments from most employees to relocate.

This just goes to show that even the best music in the world can turn ugly if sung too many times by your drunken boyfriend at his birthday party. A 23-year-old Colorado woman named Samantha Malson was arrested this weekend after she choked out her boyfriend for singing “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore over and over, even when she asked “25 times” for him to stop. Unfortunately, it was her lover’s 26th birthday that evening and the victim was wasted (as birthday boys tend to get), leading to an unfortunate altercation

In 1983 when President Reagan ordered the deployment of missiles in Europe as part of his "peace through strength" strategy to counter the Soviet Union, the very liberal town of Takoma Park, Md., declared itself a "nuclear free zone." City officials passed an ordinance known as The Takoma Park Nuclear Free Zone Act, which said, "...work on nuclear weapons is prohibited within the city limits..." If North Korea follows through on its threat to nuke the United States (or had Russia in the ´80s launched a nuclear attack), Takoma Park would not be "nuclear free" for long

President Barack Obama officially declared Thursday “National Equal Pay Day,” symbolically marking how much extra work women supposedly must perform to reach pay parity with men. “Women — who make up nearly half of our nation’s workforce — face a pay gap that means they earn 23 percent less on average than men do. That disparity is even greater for African-American women and Latinas,” Obama said in a statement issued Monday.

As President Obama prepares to head to Colorado on Wednesday to push gun control legislation, some are calling into question the validity of a key statistic he’s using to tout his message on near-universal background checks. During several speeches, Obama has said 40 percent of all gun purchases were made without a background check. But that number is nearly two decades old and comes from a poll with a relatively tiny sample size.

Amid a backdrop of record-low ratings for some broadcast shows, cable is feeling pretty good about its prospects in this year’s upfront advertising sales derby. For the season, ad-supported cable as a group has opened up a bigger ratings advantage over the Big Four – and has beaten the broadcasters in the 18-49 demo on a regular basis in a handful of timeslots. But cablers still feel slighted by Madison Avenue because they rarely command ad rates that are commensurate with broadcasters. That may not change this year, but the tipping point feels like it’s getting closer.

Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

Is media bias to blame for lack of Gosnell coverage? Or something far more banal? The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.
