| With just two weeks to go until Election Day, the popular vote is, as everyone knows, effectively a dead heat. The Real Clear Politics average has Romney enjoying a 0.9-point advantage. And while the latest Rasmussen numbers give Romney a 4-point edge and he is ahead 5 in Gallup, there are other polls that have Obama leading. In the latest IBD/TIPP poll, for instance, the president is up by 2. But there are two other crucial indicators that show momentum for Mitt.

The trend is clearly for Romney, which is causing the commenters to gnash their teeth. Gentlemen, my advice to you: start drinking heavily.

A few days ago, pundits told us the Gallup numbers were way off when they had Romney up by 6 or 7. Now, Rasmussen is 4 and Gallup is 5, Romney. What am I missing here?

The new MSM (DNC) talking point is that Romney will win the popular vote, and Obama will win the EC, thus winning the election, and Ohio will decide the election.
There is something horribly wrong when one state can decide the fate of the nation.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this. Real Clear Politics gets their average from a number of Polls. IF SOME of those polls are skewed in favor of Obama by 8 or 9 points doesn't that then throw off the average that RCP comes up with? It's my belief that those skewed polls are what keeps Obama ahead of Romney, especially in Ohio. If the polls were taken were HONEST and not skewed, I wonder what the true numbers would be.

What your missing is the determination of MSM to drag Obama over the finish line and a deep financial desire by the polling firms to remain relevant. Election year is the polling business's equivalent of Black Friday. They need to pull in enough money to make it until the next election cycle. If they were honest and said: "turn off the lights, the party is over". It would end their revenue stream.

I keep having this dream where I'm settling in watching the election coverage and the talking heads are stunned, stunned that Maine goes to Romney. At that point, it is all down hill for The Won and the talking heads cannot deal with the outcome.
There's another part of the dream that includes Ann Coulter but I won't go into that.

Or, the polls are closing now and Fox projects Gov. Romney to carry the state of Ohio and Senator Sherrod Brown has lost his senate seat. And now to flip over to MSNBC where some guy named Matthews is holding a gun to his head and saying "I'm mad as hell and not taking it anymore" the camera man does not appear concerned and no one is standing suicide watch, flipping over to CNN where Wolf is saying lawyers from the DNC are headed to Ohio over voting irregularities, Oh wait a second there are reports that exit polls in MI and WI are showing strong Tea Party voting. At this point I will say my thankful prayers and fall asleep with a little thank you to President Reagan that the county may survive as a free people a little bit longer.

#5, that's how I understand RCP polls too. They make NO sense because they take ALL states polls and average them out. IMHO, that is a ridiculous way to count votes. Of course, that technique does seem to advantage obama and I guess that's what counts. We'll see on Nov. 6..

Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette, the lead Democratic sponsor of a federal bill to ban high-capacity magazines, is apparently unaware that such magazines can be reloaded and reused, according to a comment she made at a Denver Post-sponsored forum on gun control on Tuesday. When asked how limiting the number of bullets in magazines would help reduce violence, she replied: (snip) "So if you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time, because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”

An intruder who forced his way into the mountain home of a Colorado deputy district attorney was shot dead by either the prosecutor or her police officer husband, authorities said on Tuesday. Any adult who takes a school matter into his or her own hands – like a mother who allegedly entered Withrow High School without permission Thursday and helped her daughter beat up another girl – will be held accountable, Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig said Monday. Police say the mother, her daughter and another woman burst into a classroom at the school on Madison Road about 2 p.m. Thursday. The mother and daughter, according to police, assaulted a 15-year-old girl, striking her with fists, feet and a combination lock. Teacher Kim Kilby suffered a black eye in the scuffle.

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
