Toyboys, bankruptcy, a conman and a raging 25-year war with her ex-husband: The furious 'firecracker' ex-wife of Staples founder gunning to bring Romney down with 'October Surprise' Daily Mail (UK), by Daniel Bates
For somebody who claims to be known as a ‘firecracker’, Maureen Sullivan is a woman who has been burned more than her fair share. Aged 61, she has been swindled out of $168,000 by a conman, lost a $5m fortune and missed out on a stock market jackpot worth double that. She has gone bankrupt with just $50 in her hand, been sued for defamation and had a string of toyboys, one of whom got her name tattooed on his right arm as a token of his devotion.
Comments: Sullivan has got to be one of the most messed-up X-wives in the country. Obama, Axelrod, and Allred should be ashamed to exploit this bitter deranged woman. Read the whole article to see just how unhinged the woman is. She was so vengeful that she spent all her money running up legal fees. Then she had to sell the stock to pay attorney fees. Now she blames Romney for all her problems, same as Barack blames Bush for all of his. Obama and this woman need to be linked together forever.
Poor, poor Maureen. And it's all Mitt Romney's fault! It's no WONDER she feels cheated. She only came away from her marriage with .... ... a $700,000 Boston mansion ... $100,000 in furnishings ... $32,000 a year in alimony ... $24,000 a year in child support ... 500,000 shares of Staples stock which she sold before it grew in value.
Why it's enough to make any woman furious. How was she to know the stock value would increase? How was she to know the toyboys were only after her money? How was she to know the attorneys would keep so much? s/o
Hey, Maureen, just wait until you see Gloria's bill!
No swing voter has good impressions about Gloria. Her client is a nutcase and so is she so let them out on the public square and make fools of each other for all to see. A 25 year battle with a battle-ax for all.
Plenty of time to refute everything before the election. In fact, this crazy broad is being totally discredited before anything comes out, if it ever does. So, he told the court that the stock was valued wrong? So he couldn't see the future? Can't have a non-clairvoyant in the White House, now can you?
Just read the divorce papers, appended to another article posted.
Not a chance, Obie. Another exploding cigar. It didn't help Maureen's case that she lied about her own income to the court. But the judge wrote in excruciating detail about this matter and his final decision was that she had proved no wrongdoing.
As for Mitt Romney his testimony is of no concern to him and his lawyers, they don't care whether it is unsealed or not. He told the truth.
Crazy Maureen obviously doesn't understand how stocks work - particularly restricted stock shares - nor does she want to admit that in her greed she did not follow advice given that it would be "prudent" to sell only some of her shares. She sold the whole thing. She might have made more had she waited a while. But even this was unpredictable, and divorce settlements are on real assets at current values, not some hoped-for number in the future.
Re #12, the judge's divorce decision, a lengthy disposition on the whole history of the parties, their marriage, their separation, her psychiatric problems, her livein boyfriend, her lying about her income, her "hormonal problems", tends to lay bare her flakiness.
She sounds like she's always been an idiot. Now she's a bitter idiot.
I don't think this will hurt Romney at all, since he doesn't have any direct role in her demise. If she had been smarter, she'd be in better financial shape. No one made her give that money to a conman.
I'm sure this is part of obama's "war on women" campaign but the problem he has with selling this is that his other war, the war on the wealthy, has been too successful. I can't imagine anyone feeling sorry for a woman who was given millions in a divorce settlement and then blew it all.
How much ya wanna bet that the 'sealed' records get leaked. The firecracker has nothing to lose and Allred will, of course, have had nothing to do with it. This Surprise is as stupid as Trump's revelation that Obama and Michelle once considered divorce - not worthy of concern - just a pathetic attempt at staying in the news.

Wow, what a messed up woman. So they want to unseal the divorce records of someone else to try and embarrass the Republican candidate? This is their surprise? Ugly.
Is this the best they can do. Allred is such an ambulance chaser; she follows around these nut case women just to get her ugly face on television. As for Ms. Sullivan, yikes, why would anyone take this woman seriously; she is a moron. She deserves to be poor, because she made such dumb decisions.
#20, I DID read the article. Every word of it. (By the way, Charlestown isn't a wealthy neighborhood, as reported here, though a small part of it is very upscale.) The point I'm making is that this woman is NOT being presented as a flake in the mainstream media, which is still, unfortunately, where the majority of people get their news. The Daily Mail, entertaining though it may be, is not standard fare for most people.
Stupid Law-Cow Allred needs to buy a clue since her TV show went south. This is not only OLD news, it is not even about Romney. Mrs Sullivan can't blame Romney for her stock quadrupling in price after she sold it. Even if it was about Romney, Governor Romney was never married to her husband so the ex-wife needs to double park her broom and come in out of the weather. Drag that has-been Allred in with her, too.
After purchasing the Boston Globe in 1993 for a then-record $1.1 billion, the financially troubled New York Times just announced it sold the 141 year-old paper to Boston Red Sox owner John Henry for a mere $70 million. That´s a straight 93% loss. Figuring in two decades of inflation would only make it worse -- as does the fact the Times retains the Globe´s pension liabilities, estimated at over $100 million. (snip) What might have sweetened the lower offer for the Times is that Henry offered a straight cash deal, which is expected to close sometime in September or October.
Things are going from bad to worse for Anthony Weiner after his spokeswoman went off on an expletive-laden rant about a former campaign intern after she wrote an unflattering expose of his faltering New York mayoral campaign.Barbara Morgan was so incensed by Olivia Nuzzi´s actions that she lost her cool - apparently unaware that she was talking on the record - when she (snip) called the former intern a ´fame hungry b***h who sucked at her job,´ she also called Nuzzi a ‘s*****g,’ ‘t**t,’ and ‘c**t´ and threatened to sue her.
A conservative group is challenging Democrat Ed Markey’s Massachusetts residency less than a week before he faces a special election for a U.S. Senate seat in that state. Markey, currently a member of the House of Representatives, should legally be considered a resident of Maryland, America Rising PAC stated in a Tuesday complaint filed with the Maryland state comptroller. The group also claims Markey violated Maryland law by failing to file Maryland tax returns despite living primarily in that state.
After San Antonio’s Sebastien De La Cruz’s national anthem rendition drew racist tweets, the Spurs invited back the 11-year old former “America’s Got Talent” semifinalist to sing again tonight. Before the Spurs hosted the Heat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, De La Cruz’s encore wowed the crowd. See a video of his performance on Tuesday.
The American woman who was shot dead in Syria accused of being an Al Qaeda supporter married a Muslim man in a sham wedding for which she was paid cash and a van, MailOnline can reveal. Nicole Mansfield entered in a ´deal´ with Ayman Mohammed Bafil under which they would stay together until he got a green card. The pair met online, never lived together and did not even consummate their marriage - but after his papers came through he paid her what he owed. Records show that the couple were married in July 2010 but divorced in August 2011 when she apparently learned that
In her best selling novel, State of Wonder, author Ann Patchett draws us into the science-fiction world of an indigenous people in Manaus, Brazil known as the Lakashi tribe. Deep in the rainforest tribal women nibble bark from the martin tree -- a veritable reproductive fountain of youth that offsets the normal conditions of menopause and enables women to bear children into old age.(snip) the ASRM´s decision to court older women will likely add even more domestic and foreign revenue streams to a medical business that, despite its high failure rates, continues to grow exponentially.
Sgt. John Hartley Robertson´s name is etched along with 60,000 others onto Washington D.C.´s poignant Vietnam memorial - no doubt visited many times by the wife and two children he left behind. But what if Robertson didn´t die during a classified special ops mission over Laos in 1968 as military records show but is still alive and well? That is the jaw dropping question posed by a new documentary which claims to have tracked down the one-time Green Beret to south-central Vietnam - where the 76-year-old is unable to remember his birthday, his American children’s names, or how to speak English.
Now that the criminal charges against BP and its drilling contractor have been settled and cannot be reopened under the principal of double jeopardy, we can expect to see an argument develop over who should be responsible when the government takes charge under the National Contingency Plan. That fact alone blows a huge hole through the government´s allegations against former BP VP David Rainey
An Army veteran who was today awarded the Medal of Honor for his courageous leadership during a daylong firefight in Afghanistan wept as President Obama named his fallen comrades. Former Staff Sgt. Clinton Romesha took a moment to compose himself after Obama read the names of the eight Americans who died in the 2009 firefight. At a White House ceremony attended by the military´s top leaders and former Medal of Honor recipients, Obama recounted the dramatic battle at an outpost in the mountains near the Pakistan border where U.S. troops were far outnumbered.

The Egyptian government has nabbed a major terrorist tied to the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, (snip) And that terrorist has direct, longstanding ties to al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri. The captured terrorist is Muhammad Jamal al Kashef (a.k.a. Abu Ahmed), who served as a senior Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ) terrorist in the 1990s and was imprisoned for years. The EIJ was headed by Ayman al Zawahiri, who merged the group with Osama bin Laden’s operation.
The Republican assault on Susan Rice is a fabricated scandal, attacking her for repeating CIA talking points, almost verbatim, to explain the Benghazi attacks. The U.N. ambassador’s version, even with its omissions, may turn out to be closer to the truth than some of the inflammatory GOP rhetoric. But just because Rice is being unfairly pilloried, this doesn’t mean she would be a good secretary of state. And it’s a close call on the merits: Given her friendship with President Obama, she would be uniquely able to speak as his emissary. But she would also carry some baggage
While media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been promoting her new film, “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” she revealed she was a recent victim of profiling while shopping in a store in Zurich.(Snip)“I was in Zurich the other day at a store, whose name I will not mention,” Winfrey said on “Entertainment Tonight,” “and I didn’t have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear…but obviously, ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ is not shown in Zurich. So this doesn’t happen to me unless somebody obviously doesn’t know that it’s me.” Winfrey went on to explain that she was in Zurich for Tina Turner’s wedding,
Appearing on This Week With George Stephanopoulos, Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert battled not only the Democratic panelists but also conservative pundit George Will over the wisdom of shutting down the government to prevent Obamacare funding. Gohmert strongly condemned President Barack Obama’s argument at Friday’s news conference that the GOP’s “holy grail” was enying millions of people health insurance. “That’s a false narrative,” Gohmert said. “He says we’re trying to keep people from having health care. That’s just not true. That is an absolute, blatant lie. We’re not trying to keep anybody from getting health care.
Nobody tells Oprah she can´t afford a handbag. Oprah Winfrey is one of the richest entertainers in the world, thanks to her willdly successful 25-season run on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and her latest media foray with the newly revitalized Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). The entertainer earned an estimated $77 million from June 2012 to June 2013 alone, according to Forbes, but she says she still experiences racism because she is African American. Take this latest incident in Switzerland, where "The Butler" star went to attend the nuptials of good friend and singer Tina Turner last month.
During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno´s "Tonight Show,´ President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up. In its coverage Thursday, rather than point out the president´s geographical error, the wire service made it look as though no error was made.
The taxpayer-supported Missouri State Fair is getting a lot of negative publicity in social media Sunday following a report of a shameful stunt that occurred Saturday night in Sedalia. (Snip) Basically, a clown wearing a mask of Obama came out during the bull riding event. The crowd was asked if it wanted to see Obama “run down by a bull. Things got worse from there." Things got worse from there, which doesn’t surprise me, given the anti-Obama feeling among many fairgoers from rural Missouri, where Obama lost to Mitt Romney (at least 60-40 percent in much of outlying parts of state)
Ames, Iowa — Donald Trump delivered a blistering attack on Mitt Romney’s campaign today. “I don’t know what the hell happened with his campaign,” Trump said in a speech at The Family Leader Summit. “I just don’t get it. That was an election that couldn’t have been lost.” “Every single state that they asked me to go or do some phone calls or some television, we won in the primaries,” Trump remarked. But he also criticized what the campaign had initially wanted him to say in robocalls. “They gave me this most pathetic thing to say. I said,
During a press conference yesterday, President Obama revealed the existence of a sealed indictment in the Benghazi attacks in Libya on September 11, 2012, leaving some experts questioning whether the president broke the law. Federal law states that ´no person may disclose [a sealed] indictment´s existence,´ and that doing so may be ´punished as a contempt of court,´ a charge that carries a minimum sentence of six months prison. The announcement came as a surprise to some insiders, as the existence of a sealed indictment has not been publicly confirmed or denied by law enforcement or
During an hour-long deep dive into the growing use of food stamps in America, Fox News highlighted “the new face of food stamps.” That new face is a pina colada-sipping, lobster-loving lothario named Jason Greenslate. President Obama took his case for ending the sequester to hundreds of disabled veterans Saturday, saying he protected their benefits from the “reckless” cuts to the federal budget but suggesting next year might be different. “It’s hurting our military. I made it clear that your veteran’s benefits are exempt from this year’s sequester,” the president said to the applause of hundreds at the Disabled American Veterans´ convention in Orlando, Fla. “But I want to tell you going forward the best way to protect the VA care you have earned is to get rid of this sequester altogether.”

Instead, he will spend the next eight days playing golf, going to the beach, and buying books from the Bunch of Grapes bookstore.

Potential 2016 presidential contender Donald Trump spoke to ABC’s Jonathan Karl Sunday morning and reignited the birther issue that he helped spark back in 2011, questioning the legitimacy of Barack Obama’s birth certificate and wondering whether Ted Cruz, who was born in Canada, was eligible to president. “Was there a birth certificate?” Trump asked. “You tell me. Some people say that was not his birth certificate. I’m saying I don’t know. Nobody knows. And you don’t know, either, Jonathan. You’re a smart guy, you don’t know, either.” “I’m pretty convinced he was born in the United States,” Karl said.
