Military voters: Don't shortchange us
Tampa Tribune, by Pete Hegseth

Original Article

Posted By:Mobyclik, 10/24/2012 2:19:40 PM

On Oct. 28, 2009, President Obama signed into law the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act — a bill designed to make voting easier and more accessible for military personnel stationed around the world.(Snip)Despite hard work from state-level leaders in Florida, ballots requested by military members and their spouses are down an alarming 50 percent from 2008, according to the Military Voter Protection Project. Sadly, Florida's numbers are better than most states — many of which are down over 80 percent in that same time period.

Comments:
No outrage about this at all. The military is the LAST group oblamo wants to vote. But, where the hell are the Republicans on this?

Jewish community leaders in South Florida say they are growing frustrated with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) over her conflicting statements regarding a bipartisan Iran sanctions measure in the House. Following a Washington Free Beacon report detailing her efforts to block a House resolution backing new sanctions on Iran, Wasserman Schultz has told her hometown press that she is open to new sanctions, while telling D.C. reporters that she opposes them.(Snip)Other Jewish leaders said that Wasserman Schultz’s staff has alternately mocked the Free Beacon and lashed out at its reporters. Two ships broke free Tuesday from the Antarctic ice that had trapped them off the continent´s coast. Cracks in the ice allowed the Russian research ship Akademik Shokalskiy to escape the ice field where it had been stranded for two weeks, Australia´s Maritime Safety Authority said. The Chinese icebreaker Xue Long, which had gotten stuck in the ice during an attempt to extract the Russian ship, broke free about an hour later, officials said. (Snip)The Xue Long will remain on its original mission in the Antarctic, China´s state-run Xinhua news agency said.

As the saga of the Affordable Care Act continues, another mammoth program being pushed by the Department of Education for approval by all state legislatures is a national curriculum, which is called Common Core State Standards.(Snip)CCSS expedites the process of making government schools a vehicle for propagandizing students. The centralized government would be able to "teach" moral relativism, fairness, political correctness, multiculturalism, tolerance for the progressive agenda and bigotry for the traditional moral values. These Marxist/progressive concepts are changing the culture to welfare dependency.

Barack Obama is either the most inept president ever to sit in the White House or he is an enemy of the Republic. For the last 10 years, I have watched this man´s uncanny rise to the pinnacle of power and vacillated between those two choices. I have come to the conclusion that ideology trumps inexperience. His ego is so massive, and his leftist beliefs so strong, that he is willing to throw our country under the big international bus. Let´s review our Middle East policy since Obama took office. He made it his top priority to go to the

PASCO COUNTY -- Detectives in Pasco County have made an arrest in the home invasion shooting that happened on Friday. They say 18-year-old Ryan Mills was taken into custody after finishing treatment at Bayonet Hospital for gunshot wounds he suffered during that armed robbery. Detectives say Mills and another man busted into a Land O´ Lakes home brandishing a fake gun. Turns out, someone in that home had a real gun and opened fire on the two men, shooting them both. The sheriff´s office is still investigating the incident and tells us the other suspect will be arrested once he is released from the hospital.

FBI plan puts our privacy at risk

We live in an age of surveillance. Right now, more information about us is available to more entities faster and easier than ever before. The FBI has been floating a plan to require all client-side communications software — be it voice, video, or text — to include mandatory backdoors that can be activated by law enforcement bodies to silently eavesdrop on any traffic coming in or out of that program. This will allow authorities to circumvent message-level encryption, which has stymied their current efforts.

MADISON, Wis.--Another year, another campaign. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is gearing up for re-election next year, his third race in four years. But the Republican’s courting of out-of-state donors and conservatives, his plans to visit Iowa this week and his refusal to say whether he would serve out another full term if elected suggest he might be seeking a much bigger prize — the presidency. Not that he will openly acknowledge as much.

During his speech to the CPAC crowd on Thursday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) facetiously recalled “Presidents” Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney to make a point about how Republicans need to “stand for principle” in order to win big elections. Today, Sen. McCain fired back at Cruz during an appearance on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports. McCain said he spoke to Cruz about the comments and it was “cordial” but he took specific offense at the remarks concerning Dole. “He can say what he wants to about me and he can say anything he wants to about Mitt,” McCain said,

Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

What’s been said of confession — that it is good for one’s soul but bad for one’s reputation — can also be true of testifying to Congress, so Lois Lerner has chosen to stay silent. Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. Furthermore, congruent with exhortations from some congressional Democrats, it is intensifying its efforts to suffocate groups critical of progressives, by delaying what once was the swift, routine granting of tax-exempt status. So, the IRS, far from repenting

One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey

Barack Obama´s parents were "married in name only," according to David Maraniss´s 2012 Barack Obama: The Story. But since definitions of an "in name only" marriage vary, such as "a marriage of convenience" or "a sexless marriage," and Maraniss failed to explain his claim, it is unclear what he was implying. Therefore, Obama´s oft-told nativity story must be searched for the full implications of Obama´s parents´ "in name only" marriage.
