White House Responds to Release
of Real-Time Emails About
Benghazi Attack

ABC News, by Jake Tapper

The White House this morning attempted to down-play the significance of emails sent to top national security officials during the attack on the diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, one of which suggested a known terrorist group claimed credit for the attack in its immediate aftermath. As obtained by ABC News’ John Parkinson and posted last night, the emails seem to be ones sent by the State Department Operations Center to distribution lists and email accounts for the top national security officials at the State Department, Pentagon, the FBI,

Even Jimmy Carter didn`t stoop this low when the Iranian hostage rescue when awry in 1980. At least he had the guts to blame himself for the failure. Obama`s first an only thought was to lie - which he is still doing.

According to Hillary Clinton, all the facts need to be in before we will know what happened in Benghazi. This obviously is going to take a long time, perhaps months or even years. It is possible we will never know for certain exactly what happened or why. It is quite likely we will never know, if Ms. Hillary and company have anything to do with it.

Hillary is so right. Some of the Emails say nothing about a terrorist component in the debacle. For example this one: "Please note, we need milk in the break room. One percent would be preferable."

They lied, continued to lie and continue to lie and then didn't send military support. Got it. Now how about the fact that they haven't answered this attack with any action?
Our Amb. along with 3 other Americans were killed. We now know who did it. Where is our answer to this attack? I want the hounds of hell unleashed against the animals that are responsible.

Hey ABC, how about reporting the third email's actual text? Here it is (courtesy of Fox news):

"The third email came at 67 p.m. ET and was sent to a different email list but still includes the White House Situation Room address and a subject line of “Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack (SBU) Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli,"

Pretty hard to square that with “we have no information to suggest that it was a preplanned attack" (Jay Carney)

The public is seeing where the MSM is actually at these days, and they are really going to have a lot to account for after the election, when they try to do the opposite of what they are doing now to a new Republican Administration.

Based upon her proud, lengthy narrative before the House Oversight Committee hearing on Benghazi a few weeks ago, when she described that she was on the line with sources in Libya throughout the entire attack in "real time", one wonders if Charlene dropped the ball. And perhaps with good cause.

She was the one who was the final determiner of security assets, the one who turned a deaf ear to the pleas of regional security director Erik Nordstrom and Lt. Col. Andy Wood that the trained security personnel stay in place rather than being withdrawn in August. Those personnel were withdrawn. Four Americans died.

Will this whole mess work its way back to feckless State Department operative-for-life Charlene Lamb and her equally inept bureaucrat boss Patrick Kennedy?

People have withheld information for less cause...

#16 is about Charlene Lamb. Those who read it will understand that. And those of us who watched the gavel-to-gavel coverage of that hearing will understand the plausibility of the theory advanced.

More from Pat Buchanan:

Could Donilon or Hillary have been in the dark about what Rice was going to say? Could they have still been in the dark about what had happened five days before in Benghazi, when Hillary's own deputy Charlene Lamb had followed the terrorist attack in near real time?

Hillary and the entire Obama national security team are in that famous photo with Obama watching Seal Team Six in Abbottabad when Osama bin Laden was taken down.

Was the National Security Council alerted by Lamb when she was observing the attack in near real time? Did the NSC also observe?

Was the President told by the NSC that we were getting real-time intel and video from Benghazi, and would he like to see?

An appraisal from a friend. I think he is right on the mark.
---------------------------------------------
Sometimes it is easy to forget that Obama is trying to appeal to the least informed people
in our nation. For many years he has been saying untruthful things that the media will never dispute, and Obama supporters will assume it is true since it is never contradicted.
In the debates Obama is trying to energize his base. He knows that people like us will never vote for him, and for that reason, he does not care if we know he is lying.

I think what we have here is a breakdown in communication. It depends on how one defines "Intelligence community". You see, there are actually *two* intelligence communities in Washington right now - one at Langley, the other in the White House Political Situation room. Don't confuse the intelligence of one with the intelligence of the other.

They know they lied, they have insulted the American people with their bald faced lie, they know they got caught lying, and yet they still won't "'fess up".

The longer they play the American people like this, the worse it gets for Obama and the demonrats, so keep on lying to our face.

There is no way you can walk this back, no way to blame anyone else, no way to keep the media in your back pocket continuing to cover your sorry behinds...

The only thing left is to tell the truth, and hope you can get some sympathy. This is unbecoming of a president.

If you had any honor or integrity, you would resign for lying to the people. The other lies could be covered up, but you have told so many lies to cover up the lies, its just better to confess that you lied and tell the truth.

The One would not lie--very unmessiah-like....

Obama has ALWAYS said the Buck stops with him. But have you ever noticed, the Buck never stops with him... it's always someone else's fault or it doesn't matter.
Obama has NEVER taken responsibility for ANYTHING, EVER.
When was the last time your ever heard him say he screwed up, made a mistake or apologized? NEVER!
Words words words keep coming out of his mouth with no meaning.
Why? He is a no-man, an empty suit, an empty chair with an ego so inflated he can't bring himself to admit to making mistakes or being wrong, so he can't bring himself to apologize anything.

He actually believes he's the president. He would make the pimple on a real president's ass.

Obama knew the compound was under attack.
Because real time video was being transmitted to DC.
Obama knew members of the mission
were unaccounted for.
So what did he do ?
He donned his nightgown and fluffy slippers and toddled off to bed.
Cold blooded and derelict doesn't begin to describe this bum.
When the daughter of an employee
went missing, Mitt Romney organized
the search operation.
Romney will not be asleep when the nation is attacked.
Don't forget that Obama also slept through the underwear bombing attempt on Christmas Day , 2009.
" White House spokesman Bill Burton said Friday that Obama, on vacation in Hawaii,
was informed of the incident about three hours after the plane landed. "

Much like the devotees of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, these grieving individuals have made no effort to learn the truth about those they lionize. One has to feel some pity for the likes of the Sean Penns, Oliver Stones, Michael Moores, Danny Glovers, and idolaters who naively support malignant despots and causes believing them to be a force for good.

Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

More than 700 Special Operations veterans are urging members of Congress to back a select committee to investigate last year’s Benghazi terrorist attack, according to a letter first obtained by Fox News. The letter from the group, “Special Operations Speaks,” supports the appointment of a special committee tasked with the single mission of investigating the attack that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, and shut down the CIA operation in an annex of the Benghazi consulate, in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack. “Congress must show some leadership and provide answers to the public

President Barack Obama is bringing 11 relatives of those killed in the shooting at Connecticut´s Sandy Hook Elementary School to Washington on Air Force One on Monday so they can personally encourage senators to back gun legislation that faces tough opposition. A nonprofit organization that works with the families, Sandy Hook Promise, said that after Obama´s speech on gun control in Hartford, he is flying with relatives of seven children and one staffer killed during December´s massacre at the school. The White House says Obama is going to argue that lawmakers have an

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Amid all of the very real threats of war and stuff from North Korea, you´d think American intelligence officers want as much video footage of the enemy as possible. Well, here is one video featuring North Korean exercises and Kim Jong-Un holding a gun, and we´ll say this: they certainly get points for presentation. Remember the clap-happy report from Dennis Rodman´s diplomatic basketball vacation? This video comes courtesy of the same Youtube channel that gave us that Rodman video. It appears to be the same state news channel.(Snip for video)This latest dispatch from North Korea´s state television

The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
