Candy Crowley Defends Her Own Debate Performance
Roll Call, by Emily Cahn

| CNN anchor Candy Crowley spoke candidly about her role as the moderator of the second presidential debate during a panel discussion at the Newseum on Tuesday night and defended her fact-checking moment during the 90-minute exchange between President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Crowley — who cut into a fiery exchange between Romney and Obama in an attempt to clarify whether Obama called the attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya an “act of terror” — said she was merely trying to keep the discussion moving forward in order to give more audience members

Crowley boasted that she would do this. And now, tries to defend her interference.
Sounds like she is an un-named agent of JouroList. Manipulation has become such a part of the liberal mainstream media that they excuse themselves. What arrogance and blindness together. This is the same arrogance and blindness that in Dan Rather looks just like old age.

Next time, the GOP better have the stones to demand some say in who "moderates" these things. If not, they should tell them thanks but no thanks. This time around, the only ones that came close to being "fair and balanced" were somewhat subdued since they were almost comatose.

People saw this as a choreographed stunt because she happened to have the transcript right in front of her. It was actually a pretty clever ambush of Romney who was left exposed because his advisers blew it.
People are so used to hitting their mute buttons when Obama comes on that everybody missed him saying this.

Candy Crowley ruined herself. It really is just that simple. She was there to moderate, not be a stage prop. She has joined the incredibly long list of people who wish they had never heard of Obama.
I never particularly followed her or knew much about her, because frankly anyone on the Cretin News Network is almost always a Liberal hack. I happened to hear her on Boortz the week before the debate and she was telling him in a rather breathless fashion about how hard she was working to get ready. That turned about to be just another load of mule muffins courtesy of the Democratic mascot.

Excuse the double post, but, the debates are a joke. The commission could easily hire professional arbiters who would handle the thing fairly and according to the rules. Or how about the people who moderate academic debate competitions? Anybody but a bunch of Beltway Bozos and Bozoettes--why we have to inject hack political reporters into the process is beyond me.

Hopeless self-delusion - in which she is by no means alone. Most members of America's self-appointed, self-righteous bien-pensant class are incapable of seeing themselves as others see them. They are too wrapped up in their noble ideals and good intentions -or what they take to be such- to retain an adequate contact with reality. Individually, they are laughable, like pathetic freaks and anomalies; but collectively and en mass, they continue to pose a definite danger. These are the people who prepared the way for Barack Obama, who pulled his chariot, and who have stood fast to guard him and assist his goal of "fundamentally transforming the United States of America." These are the people who cannot tell friend from foe. who think Islam is a religion of peace, who are willing to compromise the Constitution to appease enemies and make themselves feel safe. These are the ones who, not knowing or understanding traditional American values, have become their enemy. They have cut loose from the roots of the past - and they are wandering without wisdom in search of their socialist, collectivist new Jerusalem. The Candy Crowleys of America are not themselves what is wrong with America, but they are certainly symptoms of what is wrong. There is no possibility of their reform. They are spoiled goods. The most to hope for is that Americans can regain control of their institutions of culture so that more such people will not be created to attack and undermine the American way of life.

Actually saw the woman conducting an interview prior to Monday's debate, and it is obvious she thinks her record is unblemished and she did a dandy job. Why shouldn't she: CNN is singing her praises. I USED to have some respect for Crowley, but her arrogant "I will decide if I intervene" and her just happening to have that transcript with her settled that. CNN has already settled itself, going from top of the top to bottom of the bottom (except for clowns like Matthews and Sharpton at MSNBC). They just donut get it and must live in some self-congratulating bubble.

Crowley's participation by arguing the point for the President, disregarding the facts and her role as moderator, served as an exclamation point.

Candy-here's-the-transcript-Mr-President-Crowley should be fired. Anyone who believes BHO won that debate with so much media bias is wrong in the head.
I do think the debates are somewhat frivolous especially when these candidates need to go into hiding for rehearsals. However, I feel they are a perfect example of seeing how these men perform under pressure. Not exactly press the nuclear button moments, nonetheless those men are definitely feeling the heat. One, a successful businessman active in his church and his community and a former State Governor was collected and appeared to be up to any task. He was not uncomfortable by snide and sarcastic and angry remarks thrown at him and from a totally biased moderator (CC). In all of that I was able to get a glimpse of how he would behave among World Leaders. The other, a radical community organizer with a background still in question, a candidate who had promised to bring this country together and secure its place in the world and fundamentally change America. Absolutely unprepared for the first debate and as a current American President and a World Leader he looked like a deer in the headlights. The second debate showed me a different man who showed up to fight. This man was rude and totally unbecoming a President and I feared how he would be conversing with World Leaders. By the third debate I saw a petty little man and any person had to wonder how he became President of the United States.

‘Comprehensive immigration reform,” a deal on which is reportedly imminent, has a lot of moving parts — too many, in truth, as with most “comprehensive” legislation. Among the costs of comprehensivism is that debate over such bills often gets bogged down in the many details. Americans seeking to evaluate any deal should ask three questions about it to cut through the noise. First: Will it encourage future illegal immigration? This has always been the greatest risk of proposals to provide legal status for current illegal immigrants: that it will be seen as a reason for others to come here illegally

How many federal agencies does it take to do catfish safety inspections? At least three, according to the Government Accountability Office, which on Tuesday released its 2013 report on fragmentation and duplication of federal programs. This year´s report -- there were two previous editions of the report first requested by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. -- documents an estimated $95 billion in duplicative programs that waste precious tax dollars. That brings the three-year total of potential savings documented by GAO to $295 billion. WASHINGTON — Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. showed up late at an event last week, saying he was delayed because “the president keeps those meetings going longer.” But he walked into a Hillary Clinton crowd. Outside, supporters hoisted signs urging her to run for president. Inside, she was greeted as a hero. Not that Mr. Biden was an afterthought. He had plenty of friends in the room. But at the Kennedy Center, where women’s achievements were being honored by an organization Mrs. Clinton helped found, even Mr. Biden recognized that the best applause line belonged to her.

There´s more than a touch of Chicken Little in common arguments for more infrastructure spending. "The bridges are falling, the bridges are falling!" Every four years, the American Society of Civil Engineers issues the U.S. an infrastructure "report card." And, just as predictably, it says that U.S. infrastructure is decrepit and needs expensive new investments. The latest one, released last month, gave the nation a D+ grade and recommended an extra $1.6 trillion in spending by 2020. Are American bridges actually falling, though? Is the U.S. underinvested in infrastructure? Maybe it´s going too far to say,

WASHINGTON — Contrary to assurances it has deployed U.S. drones only against known senior leaders of al Qaida and allied groups, the Obama administration has targeted and killed hundreds of suspected lower-level Afghan, Pakistani and unidentified “other” militants in scores of strikes in Pakistan’s rugged tribal area, classified U.S. intelligence reports show. The administration has said that strikes by the CIA’s missile-firing Predator and Reaper drones are authorized only against “specific senior operational leaders of al Qaida and associated forces” involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks who are plotting “imminent” violent attacks on Americans.

I am always amazed — amazed — when anyone has the gall to dismiss, even laugh off, the suggestion that the right to keep and bear arms is a smart and necessary provision for a free society. Human history (not to mention current events!) is too chock-full of examples of nefarious regimes violently abusing and controlling their people, and the freedoms enjoyed by American citizens are the exception, not the rule. During a committee hearing of the Oregon state senate in considering their own state package of gun-control legislation last week, one testifier reminded the assembled lawmakers of one

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
