McCain: Obama’s Sarcasm
“Inappropriate” and “Unpresidential”

Commentary Magazine, by Alana Goodman

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 10/23/2012 12:59:51 PM

Sen. John McCain blasted President Obama’s “horses and bayonets” zinger as “unpresidential” on a conference call this morning, saying it showed a “lack of maturity.” “I don’t know why the president of the United States feels it’s necessary to denigrate and insult his opponent,” said McCain. “It’s not only bad taste, and, frankly, inappropriate for a president of the United States, but it’s also wrong.” Obama said last night that America’s shrinking Navy isn’t a concern, because “we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military’s changed.”

Comments:
I blame it on Barry's upbringing.

the prez wouldn't know that some Special Forces soldiers rode horseback into battle in 2001. (There might even have been a "Corpse-man" among them.) Also, if the prez (or his brain trust) had any familiarity with military basic training, they would know that the thingy with a sharp point is still very much in use.

0bama was snarky, spiteful and downright hateful. He is toast. His remark about "ships" that go under the water was so light weight and condescending that it made him look arrogant and stupid. Submarines are always referred to as boats, not ships. 0bama does not have a clue.

Oh, and by the way, Mr. President in the US Navy no matter how big they may be those submarine thingies you pretend to know all about are always called boats, not ships.

But some wondered if one person could make it all for naught: Hillary Clinton. As attendees of the Republican National Committee’s spring meeting debated party rules and a refurbished GOP brand capable of winning back the White House, more than two dozen operatives and officials expressed worry that none of their party’s potential 2016 candidates can take her down. In her remarkable life, Margaret Thatcher achieved what Hillary Rodham Clinton still wants (or at least what the pundits say she wants): She became the first female leader of her country, and she did it in such a determined way that her sex was almost an afterthought. In many respects, the two women are profoundly different. Thatcher, who died Monday at 87, was a self-described "conviction politician" and arch-conservative who channeled Milton Friedman and bonded fiercely with "Ronnie" Reagan, her great pal and partner on the world stage as the Cold War came to an end.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

I’ve been writing about media coverage of abortion for many years. And so have many others. If you haven’t read David Shaw’s “Abortion Bias Seeps Into The News,” published in the Los Angeles Times back in 1990, you should. That report also explains why we cover the topic here at GetReligion. But the thing is that I’m getting kind of sick of pointing out egregious bias only to see things not just remain bad but get worse. Just think, in the last year, we saw the media drop any pretense of objectivity and bully the Susan G. Komen Foundation
