Obama wins by a landslide
in kids’ online election

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 10/23/2012 10:28:42 AM

NEW YORK -- It’s a landslide for President Barack Obama—at least among people too young to vote. Nickelodeon’s Linda Ellerbee said Monday that the president captured 65 percent of the vote to beat Republican Mitt Romney in the network’s “Kids Pick the President” vote. More than 520,000 people cast online ballots through the children’s network’s website over one week earlier this month. Since it began in 1988, the kids have presaged the adults’ vote all but once, when more youngsters voted for John Kerry over George W. Bush in 2004.

Comments:
0bama's campaign strategy is working....on children.

Is this as valuable endorsement as Castro, Chavez, Putin, and Honey Boo Boo?

Do we assume that the leadership levels are on par with each other?

I'm just sayin'!

The others remain in the larval state for decades being fed and cared for by others. They vote for whatever corrupt slug the democrat crime machine puts in front of them.

Cute as it may be to some adults, it is a serious misunderstanding to suppose that the opinions of children on grownup concerns are worth anyone's attention. Pretending such a thing gives children a false and exaggerated idea of their knowledge and competence. It is exactly the wrong message to give them and others. Political decisions are among the most complex, difficult, doubtful and significant choices people can make. Experience, wisdom, judgment, and knowledge are needed, all of which children by definition lack.

As far as the results of this online poll go, there is of course not the slightest reason to think that it is honest, representative, or valid. But even if it were confined to children it would be foolish and misguided for the reasons above.

This info does not surprise me at all. Who do children spend most of their time with. School teachers. Union school teachers. Liberal school teachers. In the bag for OBAMA school teachers. Good thing that kids can't vote. IN FACT, I think the voting age should be a minimum of 21 years and you should have a job and be paying taxes. Should also include either military service and/or community service to the state.

First, #33 cracked me up. Second, I'm with #9. My conservative kids aren't soaking up electronic media all afternoon and evening -- they have sports practice for 2 hours after school, then homework, dinner, etc. The 14 year old is wiped out by 8:30 and sends himself to bed. Tonight the older one will be tied up with his Eagle Scout Board of Review (!!). They see through the crap and tell it like it is. Happily, the older one will be 18 and able to vote on election day!!

It’s not an early April Fool’s joke -- Business Insider has hired disgraced former NYC Congressman and mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner to write a weekly political column, starting Friday. Hunter Walker, Business Insider’s politics editor, published the announcement on Monday, after teasing the news on Twitter by announcing that “something wonderful is about to happen.” The folks at Business Insider are clearly aware of the built-in entertainment value of hiring the scandalized politician, who is best known for sending an explicit photo of himself to an online mistress on Twitter -- and initially denying the photo was his. When NASA astronauts were suiting up to go to space in the 1960s, they had to make a big decision before they explored the world above us: How large of a man are you? Getting it wrong could damage the mission. According to a former NASA life support system expert who helped construct space diapers, otherwise known as Maximum Absorbency Garment systems, each astronaut in the Gemini and Apollo programs had to wear a condom-type sheath with a hole at the end for urination inside their suits. In an interview on the Science Channel´s Moon Machines documentary series about early space travel, engineer

A new species of praying mantis, Liturgusa algorei, indigenous to the thick rain forests of Peru has been named after former vice president Al Gore; one of 19 new species of the insect recently identified by entomologist Gavin Svenson. The discoveries came after Svenson, curator of invertebrate zoology at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, decided to search through both old collections at museums and embark on field expeditions into the forests of Central and South America. Unlike the patient, zen-like praying mantis we´re all familiar with, these equatorial cousins take a decidedly different approach to both hunting and self-preservation. "This group,

President Obama, like most Kenyan politicians, loves beating about the bush and avoiding the real issue. In Kenya, we all know the big problem is corruption, but we are addressing virtually everything else but corruption. Close your eyes, and it could be the president of the United States talking. Sipping tea with Mark Okoth Obama Ndesandjo in a Ming-dynasty temple is a surreal experience.(snip) A lot like a lawyer, he was trying to research our emotional history. "He kept asking, ´Well, what do you think of him?´ I had shut all these things out, but he was relentless. It was a shock to him when I said, ´Our father was a drunk and he beat women.´ Barack flinched. He wasn´t aware of that. "I think that has coloured our relationship to this day. In fact, I know it

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has dodged some version of the question countless times before, but that didn´t stop a young woman from asking - and laying on a guilt trip, to boot. "Mrs. Clinton, if you don´t represent women in politics in America as future president, who will?" she asked during a Saturday meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University in Tempe, Ariz., according to the Wall Street Journal. Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, who was presiding over the discussion, jumped in: "To add to that, when you do run for president will you use the old Clinton campaign lawn signs?" Mrs.

Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Harlem) has suggested Tea Partiers were racists before, but was far blunter in a NY1 appearance Tuesday night in which he said they are “mean racist people.” Rangel managed to rip the self-style group of conservative in the same few sentences in which he mocked President Obama. “It’s hard for me to explain how you work with a President that thought he could really deal with the Republican leaders,” Rangel said. "He really thought, and maybe it is the water they drink at Harvard, that he could deal with the Tea Party. They are mean, racist people. Now why

Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya´alon is apologizing for the second time in two months about critical statements he made against the U.S. government. In the wake of tremendous anger in Washington, a telephone call between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a personal talk with the prime minister, Ya´alon told his American counterpart, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, that there was no defiance, criticism or intention to hurt the United States or Israel´s relations with its ally with his words. Ya´alon said he sees utmost importance in the strategic relations between the countries, as well as

President Barack Obama on Thursday ruled out a "military excursion" by the United States in Ukraine, saying that engaging Russia militarily "would not be appropriate." "We are not going to be getting into a military excursion in Ukraine," he said in an interview with KNSD in San Diego. "What we are going to do is mobilize all of our diplomatic resources to make sure that we´ve got a strong international coalition that sends a clear message, which is that Ukraine should decide their destiny." "There is a better path, but I think even the Ukrainians would acknowledge that for us to engage

There’s a reason why American men drive big pick-up trucks: women dig them. #According to The Washington Free Beacon, a new poll by Insure, an independent consumer insurance website, found that women think attractive men are most likely to be driving a pick-up truck. #The survey asked 2,000 men and women what type, brand and color of vehicle is driven by the “most fetching members of the opposite sex.” Ladies reported that desirable men are more likely to be driving, specifically, a black Ford truck - not a minivan or hybrid. #It would appear that the truck, which was once a purely utilitarian

The American Association for the Advancement of Science came as close as such a respectable institution can to screaming an alarm last week. "As scientists, it is not our role to tell people what they should do," it said as it began one of those sentences that you know will build to a "but". "But human-caused climate risks abrupt, unpredictable and potentially irreversible changes." In other words, the most distinguished scientists from the country with the world´s pre-eminent educational institutions were trying to shake humanity out of its complacency. Why weren´t their warnings leading the news? In one sense, the association´s appeal

Last week Al Sharpton embraced convicted vote fraudster Melowese Richardson at a “voting rights” rally in Cincinnati. The United States Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done nothing to Melowese Richardson 410 days after she admitted on camera that she committed multiple federal felonies by voting six times for President Obama’s reelection. Federal law makes it a felony to vote more than once for President. In fact, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973i(e) subjects Richardson to twenty-five years in federal prison for her six votes for Obama. President Barack Obama flies Sunday to a Europe shaken by Vladimir Putin’s seizure of Crimea and his threats against eastern parts of Ukraine. At a summit conference at The Hague on preventing nuclear terrorism – scheduled long before the Ukraine crisis – Obama will confer with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other leaders. On Monday afternoon Obama will meet with President Xi Jinping of China, Russia’s neighbor and sometime rival. Putin has forced the United States and Europe to refocus on the origins of the modern transatlantic alliance -- the 1949 NATO defense partnership designed to prevent a

WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney said Sunday that President Barack Obama is naive when it comes to Russia, has shown "faulty judgment" about Moscow´s intentions and could have done more to try to deter its annexation of Crimea. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Obama didn´t have the foresight to anticipate Russia´s moves and should have been working earlier with allies to make clear the penalties that Russia would face if it moved into Ukraine. Romney did acknowledge that such steps may not have been enough though to hold back Russia President Vladimir Putin. "Had we communicated those things, there´s always

ONCE upon a time I had a cat named Lucky, and the name fit. She turned up on our doorstep as a stray and stayed with us for 10 years, until her rather gruesome demise. (More about that later.) I liked her because she was a free spirit, and a survivor, going out for two, three, even five days, in all seasons. She’d show up when it suited her, waiting in the dark before dawn till I came downstairs and turned on my desk lamp. Then she’d make her presence known by rising up on her hind legs and gently

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,

First daughter Sasha Obama cut a stylish figure in jeans and shades as the Obama girls visited the Great Wall of China today. Michelle Obama, Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, were left alone to explore the Mutianyu section of the historical landmark in the northern Beijing suburbs though Chinese police officers looked on protectively. The three walked a stretch of the wall that looks out to a massive rock inscription on a hillside that reads in Chinese: ´Loyal to Chairman Mao.´ The country has been fascinated by Mrs Obama´s ´elegance´ during the weeklong visit to the country to promote educational

First lady Michelle Obama told students that freedom of speech should be a universal right during her extravagant, no-press-allowed tour of China — a hypocritical move that will surely draw the ire of critics, according to an expert. “That is troublesome. That goes beyond hypocritical, and I think the American media and the international media has every right to call her and the Obama administration on that — that they permitted that to happen,” said Tom Whalen, a political history professor at Boston University. “It makes you shake your head, albeit sadly.” The first lady stopped at Peking University in Beijing yesterday

Most Supreme Court watchers are fixated these days on Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby—the important challenge to the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate scheduled for argument Tuesday. And why wouldn’t they be? With its potent mix of religion, sex, Obamacare, and prayerful corporations, it’s the blockbuster case of the term. It is also a crucial test of Chief Justice John Roberts’s leadership on the Supreme Court. Just two years ago, Roberts cast the deciding vote to largely uphold the Affordable Care Act. While the country remains divided over whether he acted like a traitor or a statesman, all would have to agree

When Washington, D.C., councilman and former Mayor Marion Barry this week said that whites need to be “more open-minded” about African-American politicians, claiming “blacks are more open-minded than” whites, he was suggesting that whites can´t do what blacks do -- embrace the other race. But a new study of 212 black college students made available to Secrets found little open-mindedness: Blacks don´t like it when other blacks associate with whites, to the point of refusing help to an African-American experiencing “a run of bad luck” -- just because they have white friends. In a constituent meeting gone awry that was captured on shaky, amateur video, embattled Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) berated a group of local activists who oppose amnesty legislation, suggesting they were racist and saying they didn´t have “any damn facts.” “You´re telling me what people have told you? You don´t have any damn facts!” Ellmers exploded at one of the activists when he said that employers – who often claim a labor shortage to argue for amnesty – frequently don´t post job openings in that region.
