| DuPont (DD.N) reported a lower-than-expected quarterly profit on Tuesday and announced 1,500 job cuts as part of a cost savings program designed to offset falling sales around the world. Shares of the chemical company fell 6 percent in premarket trading. The move by DuPont, a member of the Dow Jones industrial average .DJIA and the maker of Kevlar bulletproof fiber and Corian countertops, marks one of the more extreme reactions to slipping demand and global economic uncertainty so far in this earnings season. I would bet that all the 1500 jobs will be lost in DE. A friend works in the research department, and they are laying off and combining facilities, but no worries for the Regime; they will still vote for them.

The company I work at has spent $75 million just to start implementing the obamacare rules that are showing up now. Imagine the cost soon after in 2013 and onward if obama is elected.
Many people have already lost their jobs as a result of these rules.

GLENDALE - Police tranquilized a large mountain lion found wandering around a residential neighborhood in Glendale Thursday afternoon. The big cat was first spotted around 2:00 p.m. in the 4500 block of New York Avenue.The sighting was not far from Clark Magnet High School. It took three tranquilizer darts to bring the animal down. California Fish and Wildlife wardens believe the animal is a full-grown male, weighing about 120 pounds. Officials loaded him into the back of a pick-up truck. They said he would get a quick health check-up and be tagged, before being released back in the mountains.

Luke Nichter of Harker Heights, Texas, said he’s not a renter by choice. The Texas A&M University history professor’s $125,000 of student debt means he has no hope of getting a mortgage. Nichter, 35, who’s paying $1,500 a month on loans for degrees from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, is part of the most debt-laden generation to emerge from college. The parents of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin clashed with emotional statements today, the one year anniversary of the Zimmerman´s arrest for shooting the unarmed Florida teenager. Zimmerman´s mother Gladys Zimmerman posted a two page letter online saying that her son was innocent and was arrested "solely to placate the masses." A fisherman in Belarus was bitten to death by a beaver, and all he was doing was trying to take its picture, Sky News reports. The man spotted the beaver while fishing with friends at Lake Shestakov, but as he approached to take a photograph, the beaver bit him on the thigh. The animal managed to sever an artery, and his friends couldn´t stop the blood flow. Sky News helpfully reminds us that beavers can, of course, bite through trees. Beaver attacks are rare, though, and when they do occur, rabid beavers are generally to blame

RALEIGH — A new study suggests rising health care costs have taken a particularly large toll in North Carolina, where the number of residents who receive health insurance through their employers has dropped sharply over the past decade. The portion of North Carolinians under age 65 with employer-sponsored insurance declined from 69 percent in 2000 to 56 percent in 2011, according to the report released Thursday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. SAN FRANCISCO — California lawmakers are considering taking some tax exemptions away from youth groups that do not accept gay, transgender or atheist members — a move intended to pressure the Boy Scouts of America to lift its ban on gay Scouts and troop leaders. Some cities have withdrawn free rent and other subsidies from the Boy Scouts over the years, but legislation introduced by state Sen. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
