Obama Wins Third Debate but Romney Wins Debate Season

| Mitt Romney wins. That’s not to say he won Monday night’s debate or the presidential campaign, but it’s safe to say he won an important chapter: the debate season. With an acceptable, though far from exceptional, performance in his third and final face-off with President Obama, the former Massachusetts governor became one of the few presidential candidates to make debates matter. Bottom line: Obama won Monday night’s debate on points, benefiting from the blessings of incumbency and hard-world experience. But the challenger held his own, and thus the state of the race is likely unchanged.

Romney won by showcasing Obama's numerous foreign policy failures, and offering his OWN plan to again make the USA the superpower that we need to be for world peace and prosperity. LOVED that Romney called Obama on his "apology tour of the middle east" AMEN.

Who was that talking head debating Mitt ? I would have been so tempted to ask Who are you ? Where have you been for the last four years. The lies about Israel were awful and I hope they call him on it.

Sorry, romney lost. The whole premise of this stupid debate - ie that it would exclusively pertain to foreign policy -- did him in. Whoever agreed to the debate format of Lehrer, Crowly townhall and Schieffer foreign policy obviously didn't want the GOP to win. Romney looked petty, and awkward. Imagine Bill Clinton agreeing to a foreign policy debate with CIC Bush. He wasn't stupid enough to agree to such a thing. The incumbent always has a natural advantage in such a debate having actually been CIC. Romney could only have scored points by talking about bowing to dictators, lying to the world about Benghazi, pointing out that O has presided over Muslim brotherhoods conquest of North Africa but instead he was milquetoast, subdued and a loser. Time to buy some property in Switzerland.

Romney was well prepped. He was gracious, calm, knowledgeable without being offensive. Obama was mean and haughty. Given that this is as much a "visual" test, we can say with confidence that the general public is going to "like" Mr. Romney better than the snarky O.

Immediately after the debate, all of the Democrat-controlled networks had talking heads explaining how Romney lost the debate. Sad to say, many will simply believe those pundits rather than their own lying eyes and ears. I thought Obama was rude, defensive, arrogant and wrong, but what else is new. Romney not only won the debate, he acted like a winner. He was more presidential than the President. And I'm starting to think he will win the election! However, if it becomes certain they can't steal the election, I'm afraid the National Socialists may very well instigate riots in the streets, leading to martial law, and cancelled elections...

I think Luntz made a huge mistake with his focus group. There were a slew of questions about Romney & most of the group appeared to be STRONGLY pro-Romney. Then Luntz suddenly asked, "How many think Obama won the debate on points?" and almost everyone's hand went up---even those who just a few seconds before were obvious Romney voters. I think they just assumed he was still talking about ROMNEY. It would be interesting to see a clip of that.

I agree with #13. Sad to see the old "milquetoast" pop up again, but I guess it's to be expected when obama is being crushed, day after day. To some, it must depend on what the meaning of "win" is. Because there is no way on this Earth obama came out of this debate any kind of winner. President Ronald Reagan NEVER got down in the mud with Jimmie carter, and neither did Mitt Romney. There was no need. obama buried himself..

I try to be objective and not let my partisan biases cloud my view. I don't believe that Obama won, but I also wouldn't say that Romney necessarily won either. Obama consistently lied again but unfortunately, most people will not see or acknowledge it. Romney missed a few very good opportunities. Obama was petty and snarky. He interrupted all the time and acted very immature. However, even with his bad behavior and his constant lies, he actually did very well in the eyes of his supporters. Not just because they are partisan but because he said what they expected and wanted to hear. He sounds convincing if you don't really know the facts. If you don't know the truth, he can sound like he really knows what he is talking about. That is too bad. Regardless, I think the author is right about the part that Romney won the entire season. He looked very Presidential and his figures and facts were solid. I just wish he had called Obama on his constant lies and I wish he had pinned him on Benghazi as well as other foreign policy flubs.

Few Americans can not answer this question: who is the worst domestic mass murderer in United States’ history? Due to the United States media, most are aware that Timothy McVeigh slaughtered 168 people with a bomb in 1995. Most Americans also know the names of our three most monstrous serial killers: “The Green River Killer” Gary Ridgeway, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy. The U.S. media is again responsible for the general awareness of these men; these stories deserved — and received — national attention due to our common interest in personal safety, the rule of law

Five months after his resounding reelection victory, President Obama is bumping up against the boundaries of his political power in Washington as the core of his second-term legislative agenda moves into a still-divided Congress. His ability to secure the three high- profile legislative items now confronting Congress — gun-control measures, reform of the immigration system and his long-term budget priorities — is likely to determine his domestic legacy. Obama’s plan now is to ensure that as much of his politically challenging agenda as possible is enacted, after months of effort to frame the policies

Something truly remarkable happened yesterday. After days and weeks of pushing by New Media and social media, the mainstream media has not only admitted that they should have covered the ongoing capital murder trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, they have promised to immediately remedy that mistake: The Daily Beast´s Megan McArdle: "Why I didn´t write about Gosnell´s trial -- and why I should have." Bloomberg columnist Jeffrey Goldberg writes: "It’s too late now, though, to suppress coverage. Evil Mitt Romney paid an effective tax rate of 13% when his returns were released during the 2012 campaign. Now, Barack Obama’s returns were released yesterday, and he paid an effective tax rate of 18%. So, how is it that Barack Obama is more fair, more mainstream, and more American – in the eyes of his liberal base – because he pays 5% more in taxes? Paying 18% is less than the effective tax rate of39% he wants for the job creating and investing class in this country, and 12 % shy

Tim Graham absorbs his fair share of media in his job as director of media analysis at the Alexandria, Va.-based Media Research Center and as senior editor of its publishing outfit, NewsBusters. The formula goes pretty much like this: Watch, read, listen, groan—and write up lightning-quick blog posts exposing the excesses of mainstream media organizations. If Chris Matthews says something slightly excessive; if Brian Williams says something that’s not quite right; if PBS misfires — NewsBusters is there to commemorate the occasion.

As the Senate prepares to begin debate next week on the biggest gun-control bill in nearly two decades, the gun rights lobby and its Senate allies are working on a series of amendments that could have the opposite effect — loosening many of the restrictions that exist in current law. Most worrisome to those who advocate new gun limits is an expected amendment that would achieve one of the National Rifle Association’s biggest goals: a “national reciprocity” arrangement, in which a gun owner who receives a permit to carry a concealed weapon in any one state would then be allowed

They keep telling you they have noting but good intentions, that to worry about the feds coming for your guns makes you part of “the black helicopter crowd.” But then things like this happen: In Missouri, federal investigators have demanded and obtained from the state government — apparently twice — the entire list of Missouri concealed weapon permit holders. As Matt Drudge notes, the Columbia Daily Tribune reports that in November 2011 and January 2012, the state highway patrol asked for and received the list of about 185,000 concealed weapon permit holders

Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Of course, to describe newborn children in their boundless possibilities and wonder would be to acknowledge, foremost, their humanity. That is why, instead, abortion enthusiasts must grope for words

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

A few hours after Margaret Thatcher´s death on Monday, the snarling deadbeats of the British underclass were gleefully rampaging through the streets of Brixton in South London, scaling the marquee of the local fleapit and hanging a banner announcing, "THE B@&$!
