I'm just terribly torn between the baseball and the football games! Do I want to watch bears & lions or tigers? I voted already this morning. I've done my part.

I don't know why I am more nervous about this one than the last two. My heart is pounding and I'm half expecting BS and obie to pull the hat trick.

Sorry, but Romney is not looking too swift so far. How did he ever come up with *Russia* has the main threat with China and Al Quaida licking their chops? Hope this gets turned around, and fast!

Romney's already kicking 0bama's butt.

I'm watching on C-SPAN, off computer, & one thing easy to notice. 0bama's thinks he is more ''correct'' by speaking louder than Romney. He wants to attack & lie & Romney's not having it.

Reply 20 - Posted by: GreatPlains, 10/22/2012 9:19:11 PM     (No. 8953827)

Obama is acting like a bobblehead .
His head keeps shaking and his eyes are
constantly blinking.
He's really gotten nasty much earlier than expected.
Romney is the cool and collected one.
Obama is acting like a hot head.
i like that Romney brought up killing OBL first.

Russia and China are the MAJOR forces backing Iran and Syria to destabalize the Middle East. If one does not know that, one is living in a magical world. And don't forget what they do at the UN. Putin is not a "nice man". NEVER underestimate him.

Reply 22 - Posted by: msjena, 10/22/2012 9:19:54 PM     (No. 8953834)

Romney shouldn't give O an opening by addressing him directly. And Scheiffer needs to stop O from interrupting.

Obama is just an empty suit... He is worthless to our country in terms of leadership and forgive me but the only reason he was elected is because he's black.. We need to look past color and see beliefs and morals

Reply 24 - Posted by: ivehadit, 10/22/2012 9:22:56 PM     (No. 8953850)

I loved Romney's opening about basically changing the hearts and minds of those around the world that are vulnerable to becoming terrorists. Excellent! And nips it right in the bud, no less!

Obama is talking too long...the longer he talks the worse it is for him. I have the sound off when he speaks to watch his body language...VERY STIFF AND ANGRY, imho.

Romney is a class act... Big picture thinker. The CEO KNOWS HOW TO GOVERN.

Reply 25 - Posted by: Attercliffe, 10/22/2012 9:23:56 PM     (No. 8953854)

Obama talked as if he and the US were the only ones who helped Libya get rid of Kaddafi. That's NOT the way it happened--Obama promised US help and then backed off, not returning until the fight was about over.

Mitt is doing very well! Great zingers. Defused the Bin Laden thing _before_ The Won got to trumpet it, the "flexibility" comment was introduced early, and he's slamming the Obammunist with a barrage of pure _fact_. All this while The Won's eyes are glazing over with his puny IQ attempting to keep up with a man who is a mental giant compared to him. All he can do is spout memorized off-point talking-lies. It's lovely.

"America remains the one indispensable nation".

Well. Some other nations might take issue with that

Romney on Russia: well, Russia is making moves similar to those after the Bolshevik Revolution, when the Soviets wanted a beach-head in the Middle East. They've been trying to get a stronghold there for a hundred years. beach-head, strong-hold

There isn't much of a difference between Romney and BO.

EXCEPT: Romney could point out the dangerous presence of the Muslim Brotherhood, wherever the Arab uprisings have happened.

Romney must make plain that al Qaeda is regaining strength and presence. In Iraq, for one place; ergo how important it would have been to have a Status of Force agreement.

BO did NOT end the Iraq war. President Bush did. Afghanistan is a mess.

Reply 40 - Posted by: LittleHoodedMonk, 10/22/2012 9:33:53 PM     (No. 8953908)

0bama just blamed President Bush for our problems in the Middle East, claiming that HIS coalition that lead US into Iraq was less that what he now has.

What a maroon.

I hate how proud Obama is about importing less oil... That raises gas prices!! Importing makes it cheaper... So why would you decrease that? He's saying things opposite of what he does!

Reply 45 - Posted by: Attercliffe, 10/22/2012 9:35:59 PM     (No. 8953920)

From the Telegraph blog:

2.34 (21.34) Romney is on the offensive now, saying Obama has created tension with Israel (on Iran), with Poland (on the missile shield), and abandoned the Iranian protesters in 2009.

. . . We have to stand for our principles, stand for our allies, stand for our military and stand for our economy.

02.26 (21.26) I've never heard Obama take so much credit for the intervention in Libya, reminding viewers that Gaddafi had more American blood on his hands than anyone except Osama bin Laden.

#60, can you get to the Telegraph live blog?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/us-election/9625048/US-presidential-debate-buildup-live.html

Latest

21.47 (02.47) Obama says the sequestration - the automatic cuts to defence that will come into force next year if no deficit deal is reached - will not happen. Good to hear he's so confident because many Americans have no faith in Washington's ability to forge a deal.

He hits back at Romney's favourite line about the US having a smaller navy now than in 1916. "We also have fewer horses and fewer bayonets," says Obama. "This isn't a game of battleship."

21.45 (02.45) Everyone expected that both men would try to bring things back to domestic politics. But not to this extent.

Here's the play by play:
obama: angry and full of it; talk, talk, talk full of hotair...same verse JUST LIKE THE FIRST!

Romney: calm but firm, in command, knowledgeble. VERY PRESIDENTIAL.

So if you saw the first debate, that's all you need to know.

O.V.E.R. AND OUT! (Nov. 6th, that is!)

Obama just got so nasty and so sarcastic and disrespectful to Romney about our Navy.
So unpresidential.
Went into an angry sarcastic riff , telling Romney that he might not know what an aircraft carrier is
-planes land on it.
Obama tells Romney he might not know what a submarine is-it goes underwater and on and on.
Obama was so angry and unhinged.
Wow.

This debate reminds me of Obama's performance during the budget discussions with the Republicans. He was a condescending jerk then and was ultimately put in his place by the very hot, Paul Ryan.

Romney is doing a good job in just letting Obama show his rear-end. Romney is talking like an adult while Obama is talking like the brown-nosing community organizer that he is.

Hundreds took to the streets as macabre ‘Thatcher death parties’ were held late into the night across the country, organised by critics of the ´Iron Lady.´ Smashed shop windows, paint bombs and police being attacked were all consequences of the Left´s sick ´celebration´ of Baroness Thatcher´s death. In Brixton, south London, riot police were deployed as the crowds, which had been drinking since 5pm, started to become more aggressive smashing shop fronts and throwing paint bomb. In Liverpool, flares and fireworks were set off outside Lime Street Station by revellers, while in Bristol, seven police officers were injured--one seriously--as violence

Cometh the hour cometh the man. (Or woman). Except it´s not always true, is it? In 1940 we had Winston Churchill. In 1979 we had Margaret Thatcher. But I´m not sure even the most generous apologists for our current Prime Minister would bracket David Cameron in quite the same category. To the politician it matters greatly, for the primary aim of the politician is to gain and maintain power at regardless of what cost to his principles. Republican congressional candidate Mark Sanford slammed the 2009 federal stimulus package that went to Clemson University’s wind turbine effort--where Democrat rival Elizabeth Colbert Busch is employed--as bad public policy and a poor return on the taxpayers’ investments. By Sanford’s math and reading of Obama administration stimulus allocation figures, the Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility received $43 million and “created or saved” an estimated 134 jobs. When divided, the numbers calculate to more than $320,000 per job, Sanford said. Sanford’s comments came during a visit to a Mount Pleasant branch of Lyerly’s Cleaners, where he carried in a load

It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
