| A British woman's forthcoming book tells a chimply amazing tale about how she was raised by monkeys in the Colombian jungle. Marina Chapman, a housewife from Bradford in northern England, claims she was kidnapped from her childhood home near Cucuta, Colombia, sometime in the 1950s and then abandoned by her captors in the jungle near the Venezuelan border. Her book, "The Girl With No Name: The Incredible True Story of the Girl Raised by Monkeys," details how she took up with a group of capuchin monkeys and spent the next five years living with them

It only says childhood, no age. If she was 5 or 6 I can believe it. She'd learn to survive by imitation. It's not as far fetched as Evil Roy Slade being raised by vultures and I know that's true.

I believe her. In fact, some evidence suggest that there is a species of monkey that give birth to liberals from its anus. I'm pretty sure that The Wizard of Oz showed a herd of them flying about. And, if you look at the 99 percenters there is a definite presence of this species prancing about, unbathed, and resisting the temptation to do anything useful with their lives. So, I think it is entirely possible that this woman was raised by this same species of monkeys.

It has more of a ring of truth than a skinny little kenyan boy whose family still lives in kenya but he was mysteriously born a United States citizen and was destined to become the leader of the free world because he was so brilliant, articulate and clean.

ONLY a handful of peace-time politicians can claim to have changed the world. Margaret Thatcher, who died this morning, was one. She transformed not just her own Conservative Party, but the whole of British politics. Her enthusiasm for privatisation launched a global revolution and her willingness to stand up to tyranny helped to bring an end to the Soviet Union. Winston Churchill won a war, but he never created an “ism”. The essence of Thatcherism was to oppose the status quo and bet on freedom—odd, since as a prim control freak, she was in some ways the embodiment of conservatism.

Speaking in Ohio this week, the Youngstown Vindicator reports, veteran investigative journalist Bob Woodward recalled an “unflattering” story about a dining experience with former Vice President Al Gore. According to the local paper, Woodward “told an unflattering, but amusing story about sitting next to former Vice President Al Gore at a dinner, saying being with him was taxing.” “To be really honest, it’s unpleasant,” the journalist added of his experience with Gore. Governor Brown on Saturday announced he´ll be granting pardons to 65 former felons, including a convicted murderer. The AP says most of the pardons were granted to criminals convicted of low-level offenses, though not all were small-time offenders: Most were for people convicted of selling or possessing drugs. However, Robert Phillip Brown was convicted of murder. He was paroled in 1996 after serving 15 years in prison. ... Others pardoned included Francisco Mauricio Nunes, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and James David Vercellino, who was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
