| A new ad from the super PAC backing House Republicans invokes President Obama's 2008 comments about "bitter" small-town Americans clinging to guns, religion and their prejudices against outsiders. The ad is aimed at Democratic Rep. Mark Critz , but could have blowback for the president in the crucial western Pennsylvania district where it's running. Just over a week away from the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, received even bigger news: they are now grandparents. The newest member of the Bush family is Margaret Laura “Mila” Hager. The Bushes’ daughter Jenna Bush Hager — wife of Henry Hager — gave birth to the child Saturday at 8:43 p.m. in New York City. Mila was named for her grandmothers, the former president said in a statement. “Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild,” George W. Bush said.

One of the more bizarre memes propagated by the proabort left about the trial of Kermit Gosnell, who "faces 43 criminal counts, including eight counts of murder in the death of one patient, Karnamaya Monger, and seven newborn infants," is that Fox News has been almost as negligent in covering the story and the trial as the Big Three broadcast networks, and that conservative media in general have also mostly ignored the story. Through Monday evening, April 8, the Media Research Center´s Matt Philbin noted that Gosnell´s trial "has received exactly zero seconds of airtime on the broadcast networks."

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch.
