A Call to National Prayer and Fasting
Canada Free Press, by Bob Preyss

Original Article

Posted By:MDMuskrat, 10/22/2012 9:50:45 AM

There are those optimistic souls who believe the problems we face now we have faced in different costume before. (snip) We can only hope that freedom, competent leadership, a well equipped military, high employment, stable families, and unity in policy are high on everybody’s list of priorities. But we also take notice of what Benjamin Franklin said: “God rules in the affairs of men, and if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it possible that an empire can rise without his aid?” We need His aid.

Comments:
This is a superb listing of the things we should pray for and how to pray for them. The advice here, if followed, will begin to heal our nation...starting November 1st. Send this to all your friends, that we may all pray together. Laus Deo.

Catholic parishes across the country are just completing a nine day rosary novena for ''Life and Liberty'' organized by the Conference of Catholic Bishops. This past Saturday Archbishop Lori of Baltimore celebrated a beautiful mass for ''Life and Liberty'' at the National Shrine of the Imaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

We join our brothers and sisters of all faiths in continued prayers that we elect a man who will uphold our basic rights of life and liberty as guaranteed in our Constitution.

Prayer can happen at any time. The Apostle Paul said "Pray unceasingly." (IT 5:17). If you have not already done so, start today. If you are a person of faith, this may be the most important request you make to God.

Sen. Ted Cruz has released a dynamic new video featuring highlights of the senator´s biggest moments. Cruz encourages Republicans to stand for the rights enshrined in the Constitution, and to stand on principle. "We can either choose to keep our head down, and not rock the boat, to not stand for anything, or we can stand for principle," the Texas Republican says in the video. "Yes, we can," he concludes, echoing President Obama´s 2008

"If we are lending money that ostensibly we don´t have to kids who have no hope of making it back in order to train them for jobs that clearly don´t exist, I might suggest that we´ve gone around the bend a little bit," says TV personality Mike Rowe. Rowe is the longtime host of Discovery Channel´s Dirty Jobs, where he takes on gigs straight out of Bob Dylan songs: working on fishing boats, sewer systems, oil derricks, slaughterhouses, and more. "There is a real disconnect in the way that we educate vis-a-vis the opportunities that are available,"

As longtime readers may know, Bob Ehrlich, Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., is one of my favorite politicians in America. A Maryland Republican, he served in Congress and also as governor of his state. Ted Cruz is not on the March 4 primary ballot. But his likeness is all over TV and in campaign materials, as a slew of Republican candidates on the primary ballot are using his words and — in rare occasions — his endorsement to reach out to voters. This year, having Cruz weigh in any way possible “is political gold,” said Mark P. Jones, a political science professor at Rice University in Houston. His thumbs up for a candidate serves “as a signal to Cruz’s plethora of supporters within the GOP primary electorate who the ‘true’ movement conservative in the in the race is,” he said. And that has made a number of candidates try to link themselves

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000.
