Will Liberal Bob Schieffer
Be the Next Candy Crowley?

NewsBusters, by Rich Noyes

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 10/22/2012 8:40:32 AM

When CBS’s longtime Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer sits down in Boca Raton, Florida, tonight to moderate the final 2012 presidential debate, he’ll be following three journalists who became targets for criticism over how they handled their moderating duties. Upset liberals scorned PBS’s Jim Lehrer for taking a hands-off approach in the first debate on October 3, with MSNBC analyst Howard Fineman slamming him as “practically useless” for not jumping into the debate on behalf of President Obama.

Comments:
I'm afraid Schieffer is a genetic liberal - it's in his DNA - and, not only will he be unable to conceal it, he dosen't even think he's afflicted.
My teenage daughter has ZERO interest in politics, but had to watch the last debate for school. Even she picked up on Crowley's overt list to the left. Schieffer ought to watch it because America will be watching HIM real close thanks to Crowley's performance last week.

I just read on another site where a CBS affilliate has prematurely called the election for Zero.

I assume they are trying to make Romney so mad that he will call off the debate.

Hear all this drivel about Scheiffer being "old school" and thus not given to anything but fairness, but his own history does not bear this out. ( And after all, we found out that good ole Walter Kronkite was a raging liberal after the fact, which explained a lot.) I would put betting $ on Schieffer being intrusive and left leaning.

It's almost become a game for me. I listen to news radio Sunday mornings to catch up on what happened overnight. Bob Schieffer has a commentary segment that runs throughout the day. The game is how soon do I turn the station when he becomes pro-liberal anti-conservative. Let me tell you it happens about 90% of the time. So I don't expect fair and balanced from him.

Bob Schieffer is in the tank for Obama, just like every presidential debate moderator I can remember.

Why do the Republicans agree to these choices?

Nation host Bob Schieffer is about to tarnish a 43 year career as a journalist
to give Obama one more media blow job.

Bob it won't help.

Your media friends have deceived you.
The voting public has already made up their minds.
It is Romney in 2012.

In 20 years will Schieffer be remembered as a Cronkite or a Lewinsky?
Tonight we will see ...

4 years from now, the debate moderators should be: Mark Levin, Neal Boortz and Sean Hannity. I am so fed up with the RNC.
PS
Did you know the RNC is giving no money to Michelle Bachmann ?

Bob Schieffer's überliberal leanings are a big part of why some derisively refer to his show as as Disgrace the Nation. And as with Jim Lehrer, being debate moderator probably will do little to moderate that bias.

Luckily they are overdoing it to the point of at best ineffectiveness on the outcome. All we remember of the Veep debate is Biden's maniacal grin. The second debate will always be tagged by "Candy get the transcript". People have already forgotten the outcome. That is very likely what will happen here.

Will he go all in on liberal hackery like Raddatz and Crowley? Or will he tire of being Obama's crutch and abandon him half-way through, like Lehrer?

All I can do is hope for the latter.

Forget about the crooked ref from CBS. He won't make a difference in the upcoming third round. The fast thinking, hard punching, clean living Mormon heavyweight contender from The Motor City, "The Michigan Mauler," has the Marxist "Ding-a-Ling Man" from Nairobi on the ropes...Tonight he goes for the KO. Stay tuned. Don't touch that dial!

I predict Bob Schieffer will do everything he can to help 0bama, just short of taking the podium and mic from B0 and debating Mitt himself. Commies crave the adulation of their own - Bob's no different.

The idiots do not realize they have finally lost control of the "Narrative," which is what they substitute for Reality since Reality is beyond their powers of manipulation. And the true Narrative currently on the table is that people are sick of moderators clearly attempting to help one side and injure the other. So let Schieffer do his worst. All it will do is give
Romney another two point bump in the polls.

Answer: No.

Schieffer is a pro who will let them speak. Liberal, yes, but he tries to be fair and he did a good job with the Ryan-Romney interview right after Ryan joined the ticket.

I thought Jim Lehrer did a good job as well.

Candy? Lightweight. Vanna White would have done a better job.

President Barack Obama’s second term has so far been a story of high liberal hopes and scant liberal achievements. The president has been re-elected, demographic trends favor the growth of his coalition, his party has a technological edge, and his opposition is confused and divided. One might therefore expect Obama to be enacting the legislative agenda of that rising coalition. Yet the White House has to be disappointed, whatever it says, by the way the second term has been going.
